A graveside service for Harry Bennett will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Newark Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating.
Mr. Bennett was born Feb. 14, 1952, in Newark to the late Max Elton and Sadie Mary (Burge) Bennett.
He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War, and was employed at Owens Corning in the shipping department. He was a member of Newark Eagles and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his son, William (Romonia) Bennett of Nashport; grandchildren, Chelsee and Jacklyn Bennett; brothers, Max (Ann) Bennett of Fallsburg, and Lanson Bennett of Newark; sisters, Mary (George) Weltman of Fallsburg, Maxine Root, Faye (Jack) Sellars and Ester (Mike) Decker, all of Newark, and Tollie "Todd" Coble of Frazeysburg; and his significant other, Jessica Jackson; and stepdaughter, Amisty Bolduc.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jacklyn (Glancy), in 1996; and sister, Betty Johnson.

James E. 'Pop' Reid
Sept. 1, 1927-Sept. 22, 2003
A memorial service for James E. "Pop" Reid, 76, of Newark, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service.
Mr. Reid, who had worked at B&L Freight Lines as a driver for many years, died Sept. 22, 2003, at his residence. He was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Licking County, to the late Walter L. and Evelyn E. (Morrison) Reid.
Mr. Reid had served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and later entered the U.S. Army, serving as a paratrooper. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Mr. Reid was an ardent supporter of sports in Licking County. He enjoyed working with kids and was extremely dedicated to the Babe Ruth Baseball Program and to the Lakewood Athletic Program, where he served in many capacities.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, John E. and Ruth Reid of Heath, Charles and Sheila Sheppard of Heath, and Gerald and Marilyn Sheppard of Newark; four grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Russell L. and Anna Lou Reid of Marietta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margery Sheppard Reid, on March 21, 1986.

Mr. Barber died Sept. 13, 2003.
Linda Mackensen
Sept. 22, 2003
A private family funeral service for Linda Mackensen, 61, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating.
Mrs. Mackensen passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, David; sister, Londa (Jack) Watkins of Columbus; sister-in-law, Charlotte Spencer of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul T. and Marjorie (Anderson) Cook.

Kay Metzger
July 5, 1934-Sept. 24, 2003
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kay Metzger, 69, of Newark, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at St. Francis de Sales Church and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, with Father Robert Penhallurick officiating.
Kay Metzger was born July 5, 1934, in Columbus, to the late Ociea Blubaugh Metzger and Turney Daniel Metzger.
She was a graduate from Our Lady of Victory High School in 1952. She was employed at the National City Bank from 1952-1980. She then went on to Sanese Services where she retired in 1997.
She is survived by longtime partner, Patricia W. Fuller; stepchildren, Acen Fuller and Paul (Ann) Fuller; grandchildren, Quilyta, Larissa, Sheriena and Stevie; longtime friend and family, Jack (Deb) Beard and their son, Danny; sisters, Patty Wolf, of Columbus, Sister Bernadette, of Cincinnati, and Mickey (Frank) Iezzi, of Galena; brother, Daniel Metzger; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Metzger.

Joyce Alyce Smith

A memorial service for Joyce Alyce Smith, 59, of Newark, will be held at noon Saturday at the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church, 12 Neal Ave., Newark, with the Rev. Richard D. Jones officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville.
Mrs. Smith, former custodian for the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church, died Sept. 24, 2003, at her residence. She was born July 24, 1944, in Newark to Anna Mae (Sipe) Jones, of Newark, and the late Louis Edward Jones.
Mrs. Smith was a 1962 graduate of Granville High School and attended the Newark Secretarial School. She was a member of the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church and the Daughters of Union Veterans.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Elward Teasley Smith Jr.; sisters and brother-in-law, Jo Anne Knaack, of Newark, and Judith A. and Shaw Matthews, of Martinez, Calif.; mother-in-law, Mary Smith, of St. Louisville; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Davis, Beth Steinmetz, and Theresa Sells and her husband, Randy; nieces and nephews, Kathleen Baukal and her husband, Tibor, Daryle Knaack and his wife, Beth, LuAna Matthews, Alyson Matthews, Greg Davis, Jennifer Davis, Becky Davis, Stephanie Wohlgemuth and her husband, Franz, Aaron Steinmetz, Shane Steinmetz, Brittany Sells and Jamie Sells; great-niece, Shawna Davis; great-nephews, Kieran Baukal and Christian Baukal; several aunts; and several cousins.

Frederick 'Fred' N. Greulich
July 9, 1934-Sept. 29, 2003
A funeral service for Frederick "Fred" N. Greulich, 69, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastor Douglas Croucher officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Greulich, who retired after 21 years as a maintenance and production supervisor for Millennium Chemicals, formerly known as Quantum, passed away Sept. 29, 2003, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born July 9, 1934, in Cleveland, to the late Christian Fritz and Mildred Lillian (Wessel) Greulich.
Mr. Greulich was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, AMA and EAA. He was an avid model airplane enthusiast and craftsman, and was loved and admired by his wife, family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Amelia "Winnie" (Grimes) Greulich, whom he married on Nov. 11, 1983; children, Christian Allen Greulich of Dublin, Heidi Lynn (Charles) Mosher of Dublin, and Jeffrey Daniel Greulich of Newark; stepchildren, Sue (Matt) Lal of Blacklick, Timothy (Milinda) Sturm of Heath, Connie (Charles) Cameron of Glenford, Gary (Diane) Sturm of Newark, and Daniel (Kelly) Sturm of Newark; brothers and sisters, Ralph "Buddy" Charles Greulich of Cleveland, Nancy Martha Simontis of Cleveland, Linda Irene (Russell) Eagleeye of Libertyville, Ill., and Christine Arline Paternoster of Cleveland; grandchildren, Christina Elise Greulich of Sunbury, twin grandsons, Andrew Frederick and Benjamin Paul Mosher, both of Dublin, Angie Rehak of Chicago, Jackie (Brian) Johnson of Newark, Danielle Sturm of Columbus, Tony Sturm of Heath, Nicole Hunt of Heath, Chase and Chelsea Cameron of Glenford, Lori Heskett, Brandon and Laura Sturm, Clint and Clay Sturm, and Ryan Waltz, all of Newark; and one great-granddaughter, Katelynn Johnson of Newark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchild, Conan Cameron.
He was an Army veteran in the Korean War. He was awarded the Commendation Ribbon with a medal pendant for meritorious service from January 1958 through March 1959.
There will be a military graveside service at Wilson Cemetery.

William H. Corder
A funeral service for William (Bill) H. Corder will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Funeral Home in Oviedo, Fla.
Bill when faced with a storm, he always walked with his head up high because he knew he was never walking alone. Bill was 59 and lived in Appaka, Fla. He was born in Newark,then moved to Central Florida in 1987.
His wife, Sharon Corder survives him, as well as mother, Dorothy Corder; daughters, Shawna and Tonya Corder; stepchildren, Dawn, Stacey and Grant Butler; brothers, Tom, Jack (Jane), Tim (Cindy) Corder and Jack Philips; nieces and nephews, Brian Corder, Mike and Amy Comiskey, Brice and Brooke Corder ; and a host of friends and extended family.
Bill served in the CB Battalion in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Lumber Men -- Hoo Hoo 115 and the Central Component Manufacturers' Association.
