Ann K. Stork

A memorial Mass for Ann K. Stork, 89, of Newark, will be held at a later date at the Church of Saint Edward the Confessor, in Granville.

Mrs. Stork, a member of the Church of Saint Edward the Confessor, died Jan. 10, 2004, at Arlington Nursing Home, in Newark. She was born May 29, 1914, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Kathryn A. (Katcia) and Joseph Baka.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn A. and Phillip L. Stockdale, of Newark, and Jane K. and Gustave Baer, of Manchester, Mich.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Mary Baka, of Allen Park, Mich., and Edward and Celia Baka, of Inkster, Mich.; sister, Elizabeth Baka, of Manchester, Mich.; five grandchildren, Mitch Stockdale, of Vienna, W.Va., David Stockdale, of Newark, Cindy Henry and her husband, Tim, of Elsmere, Ky., Mary Beth Bair and her husband, Thomas, of Manchester, Mich., and Edward Baer and his wife, Carrie, of Pickney, Mich.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Stork, who died April 18, 1982; one daughter, Nancy Voigt; two brothers; and two sisters.

The McPeek Funeral Home in Granville is in charge of arrangements.

Jacqueline S. Schimpf

Aug. 14, 1961-Jan. 18, 2004

A funeral service for Jacqueline Schimpf will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Burial will follow at New Reading Cemetery in Somerset.

Jacqueline died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at her home. She was born Aug. 14, 1961, to Earl and Carolyn Crothers (Mitchell) in Nelsonville.

Jacqueline will be sadly missed by husband, Charles Schimpf Jr. of Newark; sons, Daryle A. Turner of Newark, and David G. Turner of Newark; daughters, Christina M. Turner of Newark, and Earlena E. Schimpf of Newark; grandchildren, Rachel, Davion, Omri, Kyle and Xzavein; parents; brother, Robin D. Crothers of Newark; sister, Kelly A. Crothers of Murray City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her brother, Earl E. Crothers Jr.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., Newark.

Lisa Marie Yarger Tindell

Nov. 12, 1965-Jan. 16, 2004

A funeral service for Lisa Marie Yarger Tindell, 38, of Newark, will be held at 5 p.m. today at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, with the Rev. Bob Knox officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Lisa was born Nov. 12, 1965, in Kittanning, Pa. She died Jan. 16, 2004, at her residence.

She worked as a residential advisor at MRDD.

She is survived by her parents, Wayne and Sandra (Wyant) Beer of Gifford, Pa.; three sons, Matthew of Imperial Pa., Michael of Bradford, Pa., and Robbie of Newark; two daughters, Cassandra of New Hampshire, and Ashley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother, Thomas Beer of Gifford, Pa.; sisters, Amy (Steven) Otto of Obi, N.Y., and Tini (Neal) Tambush of Bradford, Pa.; grandmother, Betty Jean Williams of Kittanning, Pa.; also loved and missed by Kevin Bennett of Newark; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Harding A. Wyant; and an uncle, Ashley Wyant.

Wilbur E. Zeiher

May 8, 1909-Jan. 16, 2004

A memorial service for Wilbur E. Zeiher, 94, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple.

Mr. Zeiher died Jan. 16, 2004, at Southwest Regional Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. He was born May 8, 1909, in Mason City, W.Va., to the late Frank and Bessie Zeiher.

Mr. Zeiher was the founder of Zeiher's Tires in Newark. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a 65-year member of the Acme Lodge 554 and Past Master of Acme Lodge 554, where he was the oldest living member.

Mr. Zeiher was Past High Priest of the Warren Chapter, a member of the Bigelow Council and member of St. Luke's Commandery, all three of which he had been a member for 50 years. He was also a member of the Shriners and the Teheran Grotto. He was the oldest living member of Newark's First Presbyterian Church and an Elder.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter, Carol Zeiher Atskoff; stepchildren, Wayne Martin, Pamela Bridge and Jay Martin; grandchildren, Tricia Applegate, Rebecca Longenecker, Robert W. Zeiher, Kandy Petrovic, Kelly Riley, Bethany Wilson-Paul, Julie Gifford, Joel Simpson and Ryan Simpson; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Zeiher of Key Largo, Fla.; sister, Marceline Rittenhouse of Davie, Fla.; and sister, Eleanor Jones Gebheart of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel J. Lillard Zeiher, who passed away in 1963; brother, James Zeiher; and great-grandchild, Tina Cline.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Myers, Fla.

Wanoka (Wright) Hill

Feb. 1, 1943-Jan. 22, 2004

A memorial service for Wanoka (Wright) Hill, 60, of Gahanna, who died Jan. 22, 2004, at her residence, will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2004, with calling hours from 4 to 6 p.m. on the same day.

Helen Margaret Martin

Dec. 21, 1915-Jan. 25, 2004

A funeral service for Helen Margaret Martin, 88, of Gratiot, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bolin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carol Tong officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.

Helen died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born Dec. 21, 1915, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Wilmer and Ruth Irvin Holmes.

Helen was a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. She was a lifetime member of Gratiot United Methodist Church and a member of the Ladies Bridge Club in Gratiot.

Surviving are her two sons, Terry Martin of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mike (Diane) Martin of Zanesville; five special grandchildren, Michael (Jo Ann) Martin and Melissa (David) McBride, both of Hebron, Sarah (Josh) Micklos of Atlanta, Ga., and Christopher Martin and Stacy Martin, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; four great-grandchildren, Jared, Tyler and Jacob McBride and Charley Martin.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. Martin; and a grandson, Robby Martin.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville.

Anna L. 'Pat' Davis

Jan. 28, 1911-Jan. 26, 2004

A funeral service for Anna L. "Pat" Davis, 92, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with Pastor Christine Widrig and Pastor Bob Beyer officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Davis, the last remaining of 14 siblings, departed this life in her home with her family by her side on Monday, Jan. 26, 2004. She was born Jan. 28, 1911, in Drakes, Ohio to the late Daniel and Etta (Stevens) Fitch. She was married to her dear husband, Lawrence W. Davis, on May 1, 1926, until his passing in 1993.

Anna loved crafts and quilting and finished her last quilt just a few days before Christmas. She retired from Clark's Restaurant in Jacksontown after 35 years. Anna lived happily at Goosepond Retirement Village for 12 years and enjoyed the friendships of many. A child of God, she was a member of the Jacksontown United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau.

Anna, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, is survived by her daughter, Janice Widrig; her daughter-in law, Jean Davis; 14 grandchildren, Kenneth (Vikki), Cynthia (Bobby), Sheila, Cheryl (Dan), Gary (Elizabeth), Bradley (Beng), Curtis (Darlene), Christopher (Debbie), David (Christine), Bruce, Mark, Cheryl (Troy), Cynthia (Joseph) and Jennifer (Derek); 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and many other cherished relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Charles W. Davis, who died in 1982, and Eugene Davis and Robert Davis, who died in childhood; son-in-law, Henry E. Widrig, and 13 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 59 N. Fifth St.

Mary A. Collins

March 12, 1931-Jan. 31, 2004

A funeral service for Mary A. Collins, 72, of Croton, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, with the Rev. Richard Smyers officiating. Burial will be in Bennington Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Collins died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004. She was born in Amanda on March 12, 1931, to the late Kenneth and Marion (Quimby) Kibbee.

Mrs. Collins retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio after many years of loyal service.

She is survived by her son, Donald (Barbara) Dutcher of Columbus; two daughters, Theresa (William) Warner of Croton, and Mary (Skip) Weaver of Fort Myers, Fla.; sister, Helen Craft of Columbus; six grandchildren, Heather Warner, Jonathan (Michelle) Weaver, Jason (Jennifer) Dutcher, David (Bethany) Warner, Michele Weaver and Joshua Dutcher; and a great-granddaughter, Alyson DesEnfants.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Dutcher; sister, Beatrice Strawser; two brothers, Leon and Edward Kibbee; and sister, Mildred Adams.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 1984 Coffman Road, Suite A, Newark, Ohio 43055.

Lynn H. Maurer

Oct. 10, 1946-Jan. 24, 2004

A memorial service for Lynn H. Maurer, 57, of Rogers, Ohio, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the family's residence, 47343 Ohio 154, Rogers, Ohio.

Mr. Maurer died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on Oct. 10, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late William and Florence (Thompson) Maurer.

Craig F. Handel

Aug. 24, 1961-Jan. 24, 2004

The family of Craig F. Handel, 42, of Granville, will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Don and Pat Handel, 335 Berkley Drive, Newark.

Mr. Handel, a self-employed carpenter, died Jan. 24, 2004, at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. He was born Aug. 24, 1961, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Beverly Ann (Munz) Handel of Traverse City, Mich., and the late Lawrence Lester Handel.

Mr. Handel was a 1980 graduate of Granville High School.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Scott Handel, of Granville; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Shannon Handel, of Rapid River, Mich.; aunts and uncles, Don and Pat Handel, of Newark, Sally and Spencer Penrose, of Newark, Wendell and Kay Anderson, of Hudson, and Tom and Liz Munz, of Annapolis, Md.; and several cousins.

The McPeek Funeral Home in Granville is assisting the family with arrangements.
