ELLIS ARTHUR TEACH
Ellis Arthur Teach, 68, Logan, died Friday, Sept. 1 in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, following a brief illness.
Born March 4, 1932, near North Hampton, son of the late Wilbur Floyd and Mabel Barnhart Teach, he was married
to Mable Lee Salyer Teach, Lancaster, who survives.
He graduated in 1950 from Northwestern High School, where he was active in sports and music. He was a member of the Donnelscreek Church of the Brethren and worked as a draftsman in Dayton. He joined the U.S. Navy, where he was an instrument flight instructor in Key West, Fla. He graduated with honors in 1960 from the University of Dayton (college of engineering) and worked at General Electric Company in Logan as a manufacturing engineer until his retirement in 1990. Teach spent his remaining years developing a nature preserve in the Hocking Hills region of the Wayne National Forest near Logan.
Also surviving are a brother, Robert (Beatrice) Teach of Springfield; a sister, Margery Wilson of Enon; nine nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Nancy Wilhelm King of Tipp City.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Myers of Comer, Ga.
A memorial service and burial at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle, will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements were made by Littleton and Rue Funeral Home, Springfield.
CONNIE NAMETH DOUGHERTY
Connie Nameth Dougherty, 43, Albany, Mo., formerly of Reno, Nev., and Lancaster, died Wednesday, Sept. 6 at her residence after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 21, 1956, Beaver Falls, Pa., daughter of Neva M. Nameth of Lancaster and the late Ernest E. Nameth, she was married
to Steven Edward Dougherty, who survives.
A 1975 Lancaster High School graduate, she was an assembly worker at Temp Master in Albany, Mo. She attended Ohio University in Lancaster and was a member of St. Peterıs Catholic Church in Stanberry, Mo.
Also surviving are two sons; Benjamen Dougherty of the home and Daniel Dougherty of Bethany, Mo.; a grandson, Ethan Daniel Dougherty of Bethany, Mo.; a sister, Cynthia Nameth of Lancaster; two brothers, Ernest Nameth of Amanda and John Nameth of Lancaster; maternal grandmother, Thelma McCoy of Virginia Beach, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harold McCoy, and paternal grandparents, Steven and Mary Nameth.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Father Justin J. Reis officiating.
Burial will be in the New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good- Hope Township.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

DOROTHY ANNABELLE RHEINSCHELD
Dorothy Annabelle Primmer Rheinscheld, 75, Alabaster, Ala., died Tuesday, July 25 at her home after an extended illness.
Born June 12, 1925, daughter of the late George Carl and Carrie May Steele Primmer, she was married
for 56 years to Gerald Boyd Rheinscheld Sr., who survives.
A native of Mount Pleasant, she was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed growing wildflowers, sewing quilts, baking pies and playing the piano.
Also surviving are three daughters, Cheryl D. Richmond of Glen Allen, Va., Pamela A. Goss of Logan and Kay E. Hart of Alabaster, Ala.; two sons, James M. and Gerald B. Rheinscheld Jr., both of Smyra, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy S. and Clarence E. Primmer.
Memorial services will be held 5 p.m. Saturday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home with Ron Richmond officiating.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of the services.

RUTH Y. BACKUS
Ruth Y. Backus, 59, Millfield, died Thursday, Sept. 7 at Doctorıs North Hospital, Columbus.
Born May 27, 1941, Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Eugene and Minnie Louise Poling Trosscosky.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Connett cemetery, Athens County, with Pastor Gary Wells officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.

HARRY E. BAINTER
Harry E. "Bun" Bainter, 87, Circleville, formerly of Laurelville, died Thursday, Sept. 7 at Berger Hospital, Circleville.
Born Dec. 26, 1912, Hocking County, son of the late Emory and Bertha Sprenger Bainter, he was the widower of Bernadine Karshner Bainter, who died in 1992.
A World War II Army veteran, he served as a medic. He was employed by Miller and Miller Pipe Line Construction and after seven years of retirement he was employed by the Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Recreation in Hocking Hills State Park. Bainter was an avid coon hunter and Christmas tree farmer.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Don (Marilyn Jean) Gatwood of Logan; four grandchildren, Donna Jean Gatwood of Cincinnati, Keith (Teri) Gatwood and Donald Gatwood, both of Circleville, and Lisa Gatwood of Hallsville; special nephew, Dick Huffman of Logan; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held noon Monday at Defenbaugh-Wise Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Welch officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion #134 in Green Summit cemetery, Adelphi.

EDWARD W. LESLIE
Edward W. Leslie, 77, Logan, died Thursday, Sept. 7 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Jan. 2, 1923, Murray City, he was the son of the late Lance and Anna Shergale Leslie.
No funeral services will be held.

BERNARD FINEFROCK
Bernard 'Boog' Finefrock, 42, Logan, died Friday, Sept. 8 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
Born April 8, 1958, Lancaster, son of Ruth Morrison and the late Bernard Finefrock Sr., he was married
to Bobbie Finefrock, who survives.
He was a member of Local 172 Iron Workers for 17 years, an avid fisherman and hunter and a devoted husband and father. Also surviving are two sons, Seth and Matthew Finefrock, both of Logan; a sister, Mrs. David (Marie) Bailey of Logan; three brothers, Frank (Sherry) Finefrock of Enterprise and Lewis (Linda) Finefrock and Nick (Debbie) Finefrock, both of Georgia; a mother-in-law, Marvine DeLong of Lancaster; several sisters- and brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Albertini; a nephew, Jeremy Bailey; and a stepfather, Pat Morrison.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, with the Rev. James Daugherty officiating.
Caring cremation will follow the services.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 today at the funeral home.

Robert Irwin, 76, Hollister, died Wednesday, Sept. 13 at his residence.
Born Jan. 6, 1924, Perry County, son of the late George N. and Julia Reich Irwin, he was married
to Lavon Sarina Irwin, who survives.
He was a retired construction superintendent.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster.
Interment will be in Hilltop cemetery, Millfield.

MARY MARCELLA MALONE
Mary Marcella Malone, 93, Nelsonville, died Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains.
Born June 12, 1907, Orbiston, daughter of the late James Luther and Eliza Belle Wade Cheeseman, she was the widow of Strawdy Franklin Malone.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Asbury cemetery, SR 278 and 56.

FERN E. SAFREED
Fern E. Safreed, 79, Chauncey, died Tuesday, Sept. 12 at her residence.
Born Nov. 14, 1920, Louisa, Ky., daughter of the late Samuel and Nellie Dixon Orr, she was the widow of Isaac Safreed.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Glen Havens Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle.

EUGENE BELCHER
Eugene Belcher, 73, Logan, died Thursday, Sept. 14 in the Skilled Nursing Unit of Hocking Valley Community Hospital after an extended illness.
Born Nov. 3, 1926, Pikeville, Ky., son of the late Tommy Belcher and Anna Anderson Belcher Jarvis, he was married
to Dolores Ann Savage Belcher, who survives.
He was a former custodian at the Logan Theater for 20 years.
Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Albert (Peggy A.) Ervin, Mrs. David (Barbara S.) Stivison, Mrs. John (Sandra L.) Lindinger, special daughter, Mrs. Mike (Phyllis M.) Guisinger, all of Logan, and Diane K. Belcher of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eveline Callahan of Worthington.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. King Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in Salem cemetery, Milton Township, Jackson County.

Stephen Lewis McDonald, infant son of Brian and Vickie Steele McDonald of Logan, died Friday, Sept. 15 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
