JOHN H. REIBER III
John H. Reiber III, 25, Groveport, died Saturday, Sept. 23, as a result of an accident in Logan.
Born Feb. 15, 1975, Lorain, he was the son of Jeanette (Michael) Ingels Bauer of Cambridge and John A. (Melinda) Reiber of Lorain.
He worked as a car salesman for Ricart Ford, Columbus; was a graduate of Logan High School (1993); and enjoyed playing basketball, golf, fishing and working out.
Also surviving are three sisters, Jennifer Chabek of Dallas, Ga., Jacqueline Vorhees of Logan and Jennifer Ballas of Germany; a brother, Brian Bauer of Columbus; paternal grandfather, John O. Reiber of Vermillion; maternal grandmother, Maria Ingels of Huron; aunts; uncles; four nieces and three nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Wilma Reiber Gwin, and maternal grandfather, Frank Ingels.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermillion.
Burial will be in Peaks cemetery, Berlin Heights.

EDNA MAE RICHARDS
Edna Mae Richards, 80, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, Sept. 22 at Beckett House, New Concord.
Born Sept. 29, 1919, Kentucky, daughter of the late Melvin and Melinda Belle Cooley Scott, she was the widow of John Alfred Richards.
She was employed with Essex Wire in Lancaster for 25 years and was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship of Cambridge.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Leo (Linda) Wallace of Canal Winchester, Mrs. Jake (Dollie) Bartos of Byesville and Mrs. James (Judith) Love of Cumberland; two sons, Carl Thomas (Janice) Bell of Reynoldsburg and Melvin Bell of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Ethel Price of Lancaster and Dorothy Holt of Oregon; 22 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by six sisters; five brothers; one son, Russell L. Bell; and one great-grandson, Kyle Goodearle.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harvest Christian Fellowship, Cambridge, with Pastor Phillip Strong officiating and 1 p.m. Wednesday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, with Pastor Ron Smith officiating.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
KITTIE MAY GROVE
Kittie May Grove, 102, Logan, died Sunday, Sept. 24 at Logan Health Care Center.
Born July 24, 1898, Hocking County, daughter of the late Even D. and Minnie M. Strohl Harden, she was the widow of Oscar M. Blum.
She was a former school teacher and home nurse; a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir; was crowned mother nature in 1992; and was a very active member of the Scenic Hills Senior Center since its beginning.
She lived a faithful life that spanned three centuries. A member of the First Families of Hocking County, she was active in fund-raising programs and sang in the choir.
Surviving are two sons, Paul M. Blum of Minneapolis, Minn. and Lowell R. Blum of Waynesville, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Letha M.) Mundy of Logan, Helen Wood of Minneapolis, Minn. and Garnet Grove of Chatfield, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, one grandson, one great-granddaughter and one great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Elhard officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 today at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.
EARL GALE POLING
Earl Gale Poling, 88, Logan, died Monday, Sept. 25 in the Skilled Nursing Unit at Hocking Valley Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 7, 1911, Marion Township, Hocking County, son of the late John William and Clara Belle Kistler Poling, he was the widower of Retha Marie Deible Poling who died in 1996.
He owned and operated Earlšs Bar and Grill in Logan for 12 years; was a former heavy equipment operator; retired from Carborundum Company of Logan; and was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge.
Surviving are a son, Clarence (Treasa) Poling of Logan; four daughters, Mrs. Bill (Patty) McIntosh, Mrs. Ron (Letha) Spicer, Mrs. Ron (Martha L.) Guess and Mrs. Tom (Joey) Warren, all of Logan; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Pearl Poling of Grafton; and a sister, Christine Wagner of Lancaster.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Ralph and Clinton Poling; a sister, Ruth Detwiler; a daughter-in-law, Janet Poling; and a great-grandson, Jeremey Spicer.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Larry D. Poling officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

JOHN KENNETH HILDEBOLT
John Kenneth Hildebolt, 62, College Park, Md., formerly of Logan, died Saturday, Sept. 9 at his residence.
Born Aug. 1, 1938, Dayton, he was the son of the late John Malcolm and Stephina Hildebolt.
An Army veteran, he was senior staff engineer at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md. He was a 1956 graduate of Logan High School.
Surviving are two daughters, Angela and Christine Hildebolt, both of Houston, Texas; stepmother, Lillian Hildebolt of Logan; and three sisters, Mrs. George (Elly) Crow of Logan, Mrs. Don (Charlotte) Woeste of Cincinnati and Sue Brewer of Phoenix, Ariz.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Oct. 3 in Germantown cemetery, Germantown, with Pastor Michael Havey officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.

KATRIA SOIGNIER-TOOPS
Katria Soignier-Toops, 40, Logan, died Wednesday, Sept. 27 as a result of an automobile/truck accident in Green Township, Hocking County.
Born April 30, 1960, Juneau, Alaska, daughter of Nancy Jo Langley Hickman of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Roy John Soignier, she was married
to Larry L. Toops II, who survives.
She was a printer for Records Programs Inc. of Logan.
Also surviving are a brother, Kent Soignier of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Vanesa Bryant of Aiken, S.C.; a stepfather, Larry Hickman of Memphis, Tenn.; a mother and father-in-law, Larry and Wanda Toops Sr. of Logan; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ted (Collene) Morrison of Nelsonville.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Roberts Funeral Home with Billy Carter officiating.
A private burial will take place.

HELEN LUCILLE WILSON
Helen Lucille Wilson, 90, Logan, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 28 in the emergency room of Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 7, 1910, Logan, daughter of the late Benjamin and Lulubelle Fisher Cooper, she was the widow of Clyde Mervin Wilson, who died in 1964.
She was a homemaker and a had been a charter and lifetime member of the Logan Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. She had been a devoted Christian and had attended various churches throughout the community.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Patricia J.) Wright of Welborn, Fla., Judy R. Bourne of Logan and Marjorie L. Wilson of Lancaster; two brothers, John (Mildred) Cooper of Upper Arlington and Benjamin (Dolores) Cooper of Daleville, Ala.; two sisters, Jessie E. Kerns and Marjorie A. Watters, both of Logan; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four daughters, Lois L. Wilson, Jessie A. Wilson, Phyllis A. VanCuren and Shirley C. Frazier; two granddaughters, Julie A. Edwards and Melissa J. Belcher; and three sons-in-law, Bernard VanCuren, Gerald Greene and Jerry Bourne.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Roberts Funeral Home with the Revs. Ralph N. Cordle and King Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in Union cemetery, Good Hope Township, Hocking County.

Ruler M. Champe, 76, Glouster, died Saturday, Sept. 30 in The Plains.
Born May 10, 1924, Charleston, W.Va., son of the late Ruler and Chloe Champe, he was married
to Arlene White Champe, who survives.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. today at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster.
Burial was in Maplewood cemetery.
STELLA MILDRED DAUGHERTY
Stella Mildred Daugherty, 89, Glouster, died Saturday, Sept. 30 at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 17, 1911, Morristown, daughter of the late Harvey and Anna Katzenbach, she was the widow of Frank W. Daugherty.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster.
Burial will be in Chesterhill cemetery.

CHARLES LOUIS SELF II
Charles Louis Self II, 66, New Straitsville, died Saturday, Sept. 30 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 19, 1934, Shawnee, he was the son of the late Charles Louis and Ella Mae Slatzer Self.
A Korean Army veteran, he was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver and formerly worked for B&M Excavating Company.
Surviving are a son, David E. Self of Murray City; special friends, Jerry Walker, Donna Morris and Leonard Miller, all of New Straitsville; four aunts, Rema Roberts, Fern Miller and Avonelle Slatzer, all of New Straitsville and Vera Peacock of Nelsonville; and several cousins.
He also was preceded in death by three infant sons; and a brother, Tom Frazier.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Scott Heskett officiating.
Burial will be in New Straitsville cemetery.

MARIE L. ARMSTRONG
Marie L. Armstrong, 91, formerly of Junction City and New Lexington, died Monday, Oct. 2 at SunBridge Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Daughter of the late Eugene and Gertrude Winingman Bay, she was the widow of Percy Armstrong, who died in 1988.
She was a 50-year member of the Junction City Garden Club, member of First United Methodist Church, an avid gardener and china painter, devoted wife for 61 years and the oldest of 13 children.
Surviving are three sons, Dale V. (Betty Ann) Armstrong of Johnstown, Richard L. (Ruth) Armstrong of Lancaster and Larry R. (Margaret) Armstrong of Somerset; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Linda) Brown of Junction City; three brothers, William, Louis and Ralph Bay; three sisters, Virginia Tatman, Betty Jordan and Madelene Bay; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Belle Louise at birth and Mary Lou Folk; a son, Robert Armstrong; a grandson, Thomas D. Folk; two brothers, Robert and Vallie Bay; and four sisters, Naomi Seifert, Irme Arent, Freda Williams and Lucille Tatman.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home, 304 Mill St., New Lexington, with the Rev. John Kay officiating.
Burial will be in Grandview cemetery, Bremen.
