CLAIRUS J. STOVER
Clairus J. "Sonny" Stover, 60, Nelsonville, died Sunday, Oct. 15 at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville.
Born Oct. 1, 1940, Athens County, he was the son of the late Glenn Murphy and Audrey Murphy of Nelsonville, who survives. He was married
to Rebecca Adams Allen Stover of Nelsonville, who survives.
He also was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Scott and Elizabeth Stover.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with pastor David Cogar officiating.
Interment will be at Connett cemetery, Nelsonville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
ROBERT L. SCHULTZ
Robert L. Schultz, 57, of Logan, Ohio, joined his beloved Ruthie in heaven with the angels on Saturday, October 14, 2000. He was born Dec. 13, 1942 in Logan, son of the late Richard N. Schultz and Jean Weis Schultz, who survives.
Robert was a Logan High School graduate and served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968. He was employed by Metal Powder Specialties for 33 years and served as the president of its union for many, many years.
Robert also served the city of Logan faithfully for 24 years as a member of Logan City Council from Jan. 1, 1970 to Dec. 31, 1993, and was chairman of the streets committee for all 24 years he was in office. His major accomplishments include: improvements at Oak Grove cemetery; annexation and improvement of Dicken Addition and Walnut Hills; construction of a new fire station, waste water treatment plant and police station; and the creation of Mingo Park.
He is survived by his mother of Logan; two daughters, Misty Colliton and Roberta "Birdi" (Mike) Schwamberger; four grandchildren, Chase and Hannah Colliton, Baylie and Tyler Schwamberger; three sisters, Kathy (Jerry) Weaver, Dixie (Eric) Sevcik and Jean Ann Krannitz; five sisters-in-law, Marianne Brooks, Judy Helber, Jean L. Jones, all of Logan and Anne (Don) Wirth, Kay (Dave) Mettes; and one brother-in-law, Dick (Mae) Wilson, all of Columbus; special former son-in-law, Rookie Colliton; a host of nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, Oscar, his Bassett Hound.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his beloved wife of 22 years, Ruth Wilson Schultz, and a special aunt, Ferne Rutter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan with Pastor Rob Dauber officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery with military graveside services by the Combined Veterans of Hocking County.

DICK O'HANLON
Dick O'Hanlon, 72, East Liverpool, Columbiana County, died Monday, Sept. 4 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Ga., after an extended illness.
Born Aug. 25, 1928, son of the late Glenn Clarence and Virginia Mae Wolfe O'Hanlon, he was married
to Betty Marie Bowers O'Hanlon, who survives.
Dick attended East Liverpool High School. A 215-pound tackle for the undefeated 1946 East Liverpool football team, Dick gained all-Ohio first team honors on two wire service polls. He was selected to the Columbus Jaycees all-Ohio team and also was chosen to play in the first Ohio all-star football game. While at ELHS from 1942 to 1946, Dick participated in track, winning consistently in the shot put and discus. He won the shot put title at the 1945 Columbiana County meet. He also was a member of the wrestling squad.
Dick went on to Ohio State University where he earned a bacheloršs degree in physical education and minor in history, and became one of few Buckeyes to win four varsity letters in as many seasons. He played tackle for the Buckeyes, both offensively and defensively, gaining the nickname, "Iron Man" for his durability by playing all but 20 minutes of total game time.
In 1948, Dick was named second team in All-Big Ten, and on Jan. 2, 1950, played in the Rose Bowl when Ohio State upset previously unbeaten California. Wes Fesler was Dickšs coach at Ohio State University. Following his career there, he was drafted and signed by the Philadelphia Eagles, but never played professionally.
Dick is a lifetime member of the OSU Varsity "O" Club and was a member of the F&AM Lodge No. 219 in Gainesville. Dick was a member of the United Methodist Church where he served in various church capacities, worked with Little League Baseball, was an avid golfer, and was inducted into the East Liverpool Athletic Hall of Fame. He chose to enter coaching, and was head line coach and head wrestling coach at Connecticut Wesleyan University where his team took the all-New England Championship in wrestling.
He then went into corporate business with F&R Lazarus, Columbus, Quaker Oats, and Eaton Labs/Norwich Pharmacal where he became vice president of the animal health division, and president of Maine Biological Labs. He was veterinarian marketing manager of Hoffman-LaRoche, New Jersey. He then came to Georgia with Agri-Bio where he became president. He was named "Agri-Marketer of the Year" in 1986, by the Badger Chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association, in 1990, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Broiler Council, and served as a "Judge of the Chicken Cookin' Contest" held in Little Rock, Ark. In 1993, he retired.
Surviving are a son, James Richard (Lisa) O'Hanlon of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a daughter, Deborah Marie (Peter) O'Hanlon of Ashby, Mass.; three grandchildren, Amelia Marie O'Hanlon, Brady Whitson O'Hanlon and Luka Alexander Fischman; a brother, Robert Winston (Marg) O'Hanlon of Gainesville, Ga.; two grand nephews, Nathan and Trenton O'Hanlon of Gainesville; three nieces, Nancy, Brenda and Sue Ann O'Hanlon; and four nephews, Leonard, Mark, Joey and Steven O'Hanlon.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda O'Hanlon Hickman and a brother, Leonard O'Hanlon.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 7 in the McEver Road United Methodist Church with the Rev. James David Gravitt officiating with comments by the Rev. Steven Davidson and the Rev. Tom Kerr. Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Logan.
Pall bearers are Amelia M. O'Hanlon, James R. O'Hanlon, Richard Wolfe, Nathan A. O'Hanlon, Michael O'Hanlon and Steven O'Hanlon.
The family suggest contributions be made to the McEver Road United Methodist Church, designated for "The Dick O'Hanlon Memorial Fund" c/o of Mrs. Richard M. O'Hanlon, 4461 Stacey Drive, Oakwood, Ga. 30566. Funds will be used to help neglected children.
TERRI F. LEMPECK
Terri F. Lempeck, 38, North Charleston, S.C., died Tuesday, Oct. 10 at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Lempeck; her mother, Elsie Wilson of Lancaster; a brother, Glenn (Jonna) Wilson of Cambridge; a nephew, Josh; a niece, Amanda; and her grandfather, Jim Davis of New Straitsville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alan Wilson.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in the New Straitsville Lion's Club.
The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
JOHNATHON GIBSON GASKILL
Johnathon Gibson Gaskill was stillborn at the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Tuesday, Oct. 17.
He was the son of John Eugene Gaskill Jr. and Holly Ryan Martin of Logan.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. today at Oak Grove cemetery, Logan.
Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Home, Logan.
DARLENE G. BURDIC
Darlene G. Burdic, 65, Logan, died Wednesday, Oct. 18 at her residence.
Born Sept. 24, 1935, Boise, Idaho, daughter of John and Wilma Stubbs West, she was the widow of Charles Burdic.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hilltop cemetery, Nyssa, Ore.

ARNOLD L. MATHENA
Arnold L. Mathena, 61, Nelsonville, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains.
Born Nov. 20, 1938, Nelsonville, son of the late Wilbert and Clara Fidler Mathena, he was married
to Shirley D. Glenaman Mathena, who survives.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Burial will be in Beech Grove cemetery.

Joseph F. Vititoe, 71, Nelsonville, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 at Pine Hills Nursing Center, Nelsonville.
Born July 12, 1929, Lawrence County, son of the late Amos and Nancy Null Vititoe, he was the widower of Helen L. Henderson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Burial will be in Ridgewood cemetery, Wellston.

BARBARA JEAN TRAVIS
Barbara Jean Travis, 36, Logan, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 in the emergency room at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1964, Nelsonville, daughter of Marshall Kelly and Nina Marie Malone Ward of Buchtel, she was married
to Delmar G. Travis of New Straitsville, who survives.
A homemaker, she attended Free Pentecostal Church in Buchtel.
Also surviving are three sons, David, Timothy and Brian Travis, all of the home; two daughters, Melissa and Kayla Travis, both of the home; two brothers, Michael (Michelle) Ward and Shawn (Nicole) Ward, both of Nelsonville; and three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Betty Mae) Gambill of New Marshfield, Mrs. Van (Annie) Wright of Nelsonville and Mrs. Nathan (Janese) Lax of Glouster.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Free Pentecostal Church, Buchtel, with the Rev. David Shafer officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.

Gladys L. Zalenski, 82, New Lexington, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000 at St. Annšs Hospital, Westerville.
Born Sept. 8, 1918, Glouster, she was the daughter of the late John and Dominnika Trzaska Zglenicki.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Glouster.
Interment will be in St. Patrick cemetery, Buchtel.

ONA B. PROPS
Ona B. Props, 96, Canal Fulton, former resident of Logan, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000 at Altercare of Navarre.
Born July 24, 1904, Spencer, W.Va., daughter of the late Harrison and Katherine Greathouse Spencer, she was the widow of Alva Props, who died March 14, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Props of Canal Fulton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Nichols of Ripley, W.Va.
She also was preceded in death by a son, William Harrison Props, and a sister, Dolly Simmons.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Knollwood cemetery with the Rev. Joe Jordan officiating.
Burial will follow.

CORA PATTON
Cora Patton, 83, Logan, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1917, Hocking County, daughter of the late James and Cora Mohler Crane, she was the widow of Joe Patton, who died June 1, 1986.
She was a retired employee of Ranco.
Surviving are a sister, Edna Knapp of Logan; and three great-nieces and nephews, Bob Wendy Peyton of Shawnee, Kandy Knapp, and Gary and Misty Knapp Jr., all of Logan.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Williard, Emerson, Dewey and Harry Crane; two sisters, Suzie Crane and Mercy Lehman; and two nephews, Kenny Knapp and Gary Knapp Sr.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Janet Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.
