Ronald Roy Hardin, 58, Logan, died Nov. 22 at his residence.
Born Sept. 4, 1942, Columbus, son of the late Roy E. and Mable Louise Boyles Hardin, he was married
to Sara Jean McCann Hardin, who survives.
Employed by Metal Container Can Corp. of Columbus, he attended Bremen Holiness Community Church.
Also surviving are a son, Rex Allen (Tammy Lynn) Hardin of Logan; a daughter, Mrs. John (Ronda L.) Neff of Logan; two brothers, Gary and Mike Hardin, both of Gahanna; and a sister, Coleen Reese of Gahanna. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. William Garren and the Rev. David Schluep officiating.
Interment will be in Green Summit cemetery, Adelphi.

CHARLES EVERETT STANLEY
Charles Everett Stanley, 62, Nelsonville, died Sunday, Dec. 3 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville.
Born May 24, 1938, Athens County, son of the late Richard and Forest Martin Stanley, he was married
for 34 years to Joyce Ann Smith Stanley.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with Don Miller officiating.
Interment will be in Green Lawn cemetery, Nelsonville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
LINDY L. STRAUSBAUGH
Lindy L. 'Whitey' Strausbaugh, 71, Logan, died Monday, Dec. 4 at his residence.
Born March 8, 1929, Kingston, he was the son of the late Ralph and Bessie May Carper Strausbaugh.
A World War II Navy veteran, he was a retired truck driver for the Perry County Cheese Company and a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, AMVETS and American Legion, all in Logan, and of the VFW in Lancaster.
Surviving are two sons, David (Lena) Strausbaugh of Bainbridge and Lewis Strausbaugh of Somerset; a daughter, Jacqueline Strausbaugh (and fiance Jeffrey Martincic) of Newark; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Strausbaugh of Whitehall; and a special friend, Mary Souders of Logan.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Strausbaugh; two brothers, Phillip and Berlin Strausbaugh; and a sister, Dorothy Shigley.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Roger Fidler officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Veterans of Hocking County.
Burial will be in New Lexington cemetery.

OVINA HOBOCIENSKI
Ovina Hobocienski, 81, Glouster, died Monday, Dec. 4 at Windsor Court Nursing Center, Dublin.
Born May 20, 1919, Knox, Ind., daughter of the late Alexander and Theresa Buza, she was the widow of Walter Hobocienski.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Glouster Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Burial will be in the Queen of Heaven cemetery, Glouster.

MARY MARJORIE VanDeMARK
Mary Marjorie Boyle VanDeMark, 77, Centerview, Mo., formerly of DesPlaines, Ill., and New Straitsville, died Saturday, Dec. 2 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia, Mo.
Born May 16, 1923, New Straitsville, daughter of the late James Lawrence and Myrtle Beatrice Daubenmeyer Boyle, she was the widow of Paul L. VanDeMark.
An administrative assistant for the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg, Mo., AARP, Ladies Altar/Rosary Society, National Association Retired Federal Employees and residence council, Harmony Gardens.
Surviving are a son, Jon Douglas (Lori) VanDeMark of Geneva, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Tim (Carol Ann) Hillary of Galesburg, Mich., and Mrs. Bill (Rebecca Sue) Eckett of Centerview, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar 'Gene' (Ruth N.) Dennis and Mrs. Neil (Evelyn B.) Dawley, both of Logan; and six grandchildren, Max and Catreena VanDeMark of Geneva, Ill., Amber and Kimberly Hillary of Galesburg, Mich., and Jim and Kelli Eckett of Centerview, Mo.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and a grandson.
Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Richard J. Pendolphi officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery, New Straitsville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Friday at Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, where a rosary service will be recited at 7.

Charles 'Vance' Vincent, 77, The Plains, died Tuesday, Dec. 5 at O¹Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens.
Born June 18, 1923, Millfield, son of the late Charles L. and Anna Shook Vincent, he was married
to Barbara Hook Vincent, who survives.

Jimmie Andrew Harrison Spears, 68, Glouster, died Thursday, Dec. 7 at his residence.
Born April 20, 1932, Corning, son of the late Sammy and Lucille Giffin Spears, he was married
to Genevieve "Judy" Misner Spears, who survives.

MARIE INEZ DAVIE
Marie Inez "Mickey" Davie, 93, Logan, died Saturday, Dec. 9 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. Born Oct. 21, 1907, Ironton, daughter of the late William G. and Mary Ann Ketter McKnight, she was the widow of Charles L. Davie. A 1928 graduate of Ohio State University, she was a member of Eastern Star; served as worthy matron and past officer of Carnation Chapter New Lexington in 1942; served as Grand Adah of Grand Chapter of Ohio 1944-45; was a former member of the Logan-Hocking County Library Board; served as a volunteer for American Red Cross; and was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Logan, where she sponsored Altar Flower Fund for years. She also belonged to TWIG III and was an active member in many local clubs and community projects. Surviving are two nieces, Marilyn Davie of Logan and Ann Link of Columbus; and six great-nieces, Dottie Miller, Julie Taylor and Tracey Adams, all of Logan, Laura Keysor of Florida, Debbie Popp of Grove City and Chris Balderson of Columbus. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Mussetta Closson, and a nephew, Reed C. Davie. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel United Methodist Church of Logan with the Rev. Gary K. Wheeler officiating. A private burial will be held in New Lexington cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests contributions be made to the Altar Flower Fund of Immanuel United Methodist Church. Arrangements were made by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan.
ISABELLE EMRICK DRAKE
Isabelle Emrick Drake, 88, Columbus, died Saturday, Dec. 9. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia Emrick and the widow of John H. Drake, who died in 1983. She was a Logan High School graduate and attended Fort Wayne Bible College. A former resident of Gore, she worked at Elberfelds of Logan and retired from J.C. Penney Company in 1977. She also was a member of the Washington Avenue United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Candy) Gill of Columbus; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. Wendell (Mary) Emrick of Lancaster and Robert (Lou Ann) Emrick of Logan; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by an infant sister, Dorothy. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at O.R. Woodyard Co. Chapel, 1346 S. High St., Columbus, with the Rev. Daniel Curtis officiating. Interment will be in Forest cemetery, Circleville. Charles Edward Emrick, 80, Logan, died Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Logan Health Care Center after an extended illness. Born Sept. 2, 1920, Nelsonville, son of the late Virgil Edward and Bessie Azbell Emrick, he was married
to Irene Flood Emrick of Logan who survives. A World War II Army veteran, he was self-employed as a welder and had previously worked in several New Straitsville coal mines. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Logan American Legion Post #78 and the Logan Moose. Also surviving are three daughters, Vivian M. Six, Angie Land and Priscilla L. Stevens, all of Logan; five grandchildren, Mrs. Fletcher (Stephanie) Wilson of Junction City, Mrs. Kevin (Candi) Fields of Greensburg, Ind., Chad Land of Cincinnati, Ryan Six and Casey Stevens of Logan; two great-grandchildren, Jewel Wilson of Junction City and Madison Fields of Greensburg, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Lewis (Betty) Brown of Logan; and two sisters-in-law, Ann Emrick of Columbus and Edith Emrick of Logan. He also was preceded in death by a son, Charles P. Emrick; a grandson, Doug Six; two great-grandchildren, Briana VanBibber and Siera Thrush; and two brothers, Gerald and Jack Emrick. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul L. Elhard officiating. JOSHUA ANTHONY MARTIN ESTEP
Joshua Anthony Martin Estep, 13, Chauncey and also of Apple Grove, W.Va., died Friday, Dec. 8 in Chauncey. Born Feb. 26, 1987, Athens, he was the son of Paul Estep and Melody Martin Estep Yonker. He was a seventh grade student at Athens Middle School and a member of the D.A.R.E. club. He collected yo-yos, enjoyed playing Nintendo and basketball and was a bicycle enthusiast. Also surviving are his stepfather, Raymond Yonker of Apple Grove, W.Va.; two brothers, Paul and Jacob Estep, a sister, Melissa Estep, and a stepbrother, Raymond Yonker, all of Apple Grove, W.Va.; grandparents, Jim Martin of Logan and Eleanor Bateman of Buchtel and Gene and Charlotte Estep of Athens; step-grandparents, Raymond and Dottie Yonker of Apple Grove, W.Va. and Larry and Sharon Foss of Nelsonville; great-grandmothers, Martha Clark and Hattie Swartz; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also is survived by a special aunt, Teresa Estep, with whom he made his home during the school year.
