ESTHER E. WEIMER
Esther E. Weimer, 87, Lancaster, died Saturday, Dec. 16 at Rockmill Rehabilitation Centre.
Daughter of the late John and Mae Herron, she was the widow of Homer Weimer.
Surviving are three sons, Robert W. Weimer and Jack Munday, both of Lancaster, and Ron Munday of Hawaii; and several nieces and nephews.
No funeral services will be observed; she has donated her body to The Ohio State University for Anatomical research.
The family suggests contributions be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements were made by Halteman-Fett and Dyer Funeral Home.
DUANE W. AMERINE
Duane W. Amerine, 64, South Bloomingville, died Sunday, Dec. 17 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born March 4, 1936, South Bloomingville, son of the late Clarence and Grace Albright Amerine, he was married
for 38 years to E. Darlene Amerine, who survives.
A peacetime Army veteran, he retired from Complete General Construction in Columbus.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenny (Kim) Amerine and Brian (Carol Ann) Amerine, both of South Bloomingville; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Elizabeth "Beth") Gray of Logan; a brother, Dwight Amerine of Londonderry; a sister, Mrs. Roger (Betty June) Weir of Laurelville; and eight grandchildren, Justin Amerine of the home, Jeffrey Duane, Jennifer, Luke, Levi and Bradley James Amerine, and Matthew and Gianna Winland.
He also was preceded in death by a son, James D. Amerine; a grandson, Larry Amerine; three brothers, Larry, David and Dean Amerine; and a sister, Jean Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur, with the Rev. Mike Elkins officiating.
Burial will be in Locust Grove cemetery.
Military graveside services will be held by Vinton County VFW Post 5299.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 today at the funeral home.
EARL BLACKSON
Earl 'Bubba' Blackson, 76, Logan, formerly of Shawnee, died Sunday, Dec. 17 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan.
Born April 10, 1924, he was the son of the late Earl and Sara Tandy Blackson.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a longtime employee of Ramsbottom Pottery, Roseville.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Abram; and a brother, Nimrod Blackson.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Millertown cemetery, Corning.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 118 W. Walnut St., Shawnee.
FRANCES R. HUNTER
Frances R. Hunter, 90, Logan, died Monday, Dec. 18 at Wilmington Manor, Hamilton.
Born Jan. 4, 1910, New Gallie, Pa., daughter of the late Frank and Rosa King Neal, she was the widow of Ross A. Hunter, who died March 16, 1979.
She retired from the former Elberfeld Department Store of Logan.
Surviving are a son, Darrell L. Hunter of Dayton; a daughter, Marjorie Newman of Columbus; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Highlawn cemetery, Washington Court House, with Rick Snyder officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.

RUSSELL V. KELCH
Russell V. Kelch, 91, Beavercreek, formerly of Logan, died Sunday, Dec. 17 in Trinity Community of Beavercreek.
Born Aug. 7, 1909, Logan, son of the late George and Clara Shein Kelch, he was the widower of Mae Kennedy Kelch.
He attended schools in Logan and worked in the family oil and gas drilling business. He was an electrical engineering graduate of Ohio University and Dartmouth College. For over 40 years he was employed by the Ohio Power Company in Canton, where he was the meter superintendent and retired in 1974.
He was a member of The Savior United Methodist Church in Canton. He and his wife moved to Melbourne Village, Fla., in 1977 and belonged to the First United Methodist Church. In 1996, he moved to Dayton to be near his daughter.
Surviving are a son, David (Jo Anne) Kelch of Carlisle, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. Jon (Carol) Stoops of Beavercreek; four grandchildren, Heather Mamounas of Clayton, Calif., Linsey Doolittle of Greenfield, Mass., Randy Stoops of Chesterland and Claire Stoops of Pittsburgh, Pa.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, John and Dr. Albert Kelch; and two sisters, Mary Stump and Zola Mason.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Rob Dauber officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
LILLIAN NELSON
Lillian Nelson, 85, South Bloomingville, died Sunday, Dec. 17 at Kingston Health Care Center, Kingston.
Born Aug. 11, 1915, Fayette County, W.Va., daughter of the late John and Melissa Lynd Butler, she was the widow of Hobert Nelson.
Surviving are five sons, Delbert (Shirley) Nelson of South Bloomingville, John Nelson of Lancaster, Earl (Mary) Nelson of Circleville, Junior Nelson of Chillicothe and Howard (Peg) Nelson of Laurelville; two daughters, Juanita Burns of Chillicothe and Mary Russell of Columbus; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Butler of Logan; and two sisters, Evelyn Sisler of Lucasville and Dorothy Barnhart of Zanesville.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Nelson; a brother, Richard Butler; and a sister, Clara Scott.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Betty Brooks officiating.
Interment will be in St. John's Baptist cemetery.

HAZEL M. PATTON
Hazel M. Patton, 87, Logan, died Monday, Dec. 18 at Logan Health Care Center.
Born Feb. 16, 1913, Gore, daughter of the late Wilbert and Estelle Nutter Steward, she was the widow of William Earl Patton, who died in 1974.
She was a Logan High School graduate.
Surviving are a son, Terry Minic of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Mrs. Alan (Andrea) Richards and Kolbi Minic, both of Lancaster; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Hailee and Jacob Richards, all of Lancaster; and a brother, Franklin (Mable) Stewart of Logan.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Stewart.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

ELSIE MAE PIERSON
Elsie Mae Pierson, 100, died Saturday, Dec. 16 at Logan Health Care Center.
Born Feb. 27, 1900, Thomas, W.Va., daughter of the late Otho E. and Fidella Hull Kidney, she was the widow of Herbert M. Pierson.
She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church; St. Clairsville American Legion Auxiliary; McKelvey Class in St. Clairsville; and the WCT Union.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean Linton of Logan; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Karen) Tucker of Logan.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Earl and Dana W. Pierson.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with Pastor Gary Wheeler officiating.
Interment will be in Fellowship cemetery.
No calling hours will be observed.
LEVI ORLIE REDD
Levi Orlie Redd, 95, Logan, died Saturday, Dec. 16 at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 30, 1905, Perry County, son of the late Levi and Anna Mowery Redd, he was married
for 67 years to Mary Kathryn Lemon Redd, who survives.
He retired from Metal Powder Logan and Logan High School. He also was a member of Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church where he was involved in all music activities; and was an avid sports fan and baseball pitcher.
Also surviving are two sons, Neil (Helen) Redd of Lancaster, and Norman (Shirley) Redd of Logan; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Shirley) Bray of Madison, Ala.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Earl Redd of Logan.
He also was preceded in death by five brothers, Walter, Russell, Clifford and two infants; four sisters, Ocie Wolfe, Jenny Sherlock, Glada Alltop and an infant; and a grandson, Michael Bray.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Dixie Bauman officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

JEFFERY SCOTT VARNER
Jeffery "Boe" Scott Varner, 20, Nelsonville, died Sunday, Dec. 17 at his residence.
Born Oct. 7, 1980, Athens, he was the son of Steven and Christina Cunningham Varner Sr. of Nelsonville.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. King Kelly officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.
