During the ownership of Leininger Lumber by her husband, Ray, she was the company's
bookkeeper.
Her love for people led her to volunteer for 25 years at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, Ohio
During the winter months in Bradenton, she was involved in many activities at the Country
Village. One year in shuffleboard tournament she and her partner won 1st place.
For 12 years she volunteered her time in helping Joan Searcy, who teaches 1st grade at Sea
Breeze Elementary School in Bradenton, Florida
In 1950 she was the pioneer of Illeostomy Surgery due to Crones Disease, which she lived with
to her dying days. Being a member of the National Ostomy Club, she helped and
counseled many people with similar diseases.
