Emma L. Lawson Pemberton
Emma L. Lawson Pemberton, 71, of Sidney, passed away Thursday afternoon, Dec. 6, 2007, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Martin, Ky., on March 23, 1936, a daughter of the late Gomer and Naomi Samons Conn.
Survivors include her two daughters, Pamela (Bruce) Pequignot of DeGraff and Pat (Randy) Regula of Maplewood; a son, Ray Lawson of St. Paris; five sisters, Lola (Dick) Feller, Ivalene (Dean) Hall, Sue (Rex) Feller, Alta (Robert) Sutton and Carol (John) Crumb; four brothers, Clifford (June) Conn, Archer Conn, Bernard (Dixie) Conn and Clyde (Mary) Conn; seven grandchildren, Mitchell Regula, Kellie Lemley, Jill Watercutter, Michelle Regula, LeeAnne Haninline, Bobby Lee Hall and Joshua Lawson; four and a half great-grandchildren, Kiera Regula, Jeffery Wren (Lemley), Estella Haninline and Hunter Watercutter; a special niece, Shelia Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews and several special in-laws.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Billy Ray Lawson in 2006; her husband, Harry Pemberton; a son, Kenny Lawson in 2000; a sister, Lynn Knox; a brother, Cleveland Conn; and a granddaughter, Angela Rae Lawson in 1987.
A member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Dayton, she was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Pastor Tim Hamilton conducts a funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, Highland Chapel, West Liberty, where calling is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Mary Katherine Justice
Mary Katherine Justice, 88, of West Mansfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, with her family at her side, following a short illness.
She was born in Starr, Hocking County, on March 30, 1919, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Dicie M. Kalklosch Morse. In 1938, she married Raymond Justice and he preceded her in death in January 1993.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev. Merle Morse and Lawrence Morse. Survivors include two sons, Larry M. (Mary) Justice of Kenton and James Justice of West Mansfield; three grandchildren, Korrie M-S Justice and Jeremiah D-I Justice, both of Columbus, and Zachary R-M Justice of Kenton; two sisters-in-law; four nephews; and two nieces.
The 1938 graduate of Bokescreek Local High School was a babysitter in the community for several decades and also served as a caregiver to many adults throughout the years.
A homemaker, she was a member of the West Mansfield Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher.
She was a former member of King’s Daughters and Mary Chapter 9 Order of the Eastern Star, serving often as chaplain. She enjoyed cooking, refinishing furniture, gardening with her husband and seek and find books.
The Revs. William Zearfaus and Dr. Gary Staats conduct a service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the West Mansfield Baptist Church, where calling is two hours prior. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, West Mansfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements were handled by Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield.
Michael Alan Kline Sr.
Michael Alan Kline Sr., 63, of North Lewisburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at Memorial Hospital of Union County, Marysville, following a short illness with cancer.
He was born in Bellefontaine on May 24, 1944, a son of the late Robert and Elda Cook Kline. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, the joy of his life was his children.
He is survived by six children, Kimberly (Brian) Conley of Centerville, Michael Kline Jr. of Bellefontaine, Logan and Jillian Kline, both of Marysville, and Simon and Ethan Newberry, both of Marysville; three grandchildren, Cierra Kline of Lebanon, and Benjamin and Nicholas Conley, both of Centerville; his spouse and the mother of his four youngest children, Rachel Kline; his former wife, Patricia Ohns Kline of West Liberty; and many supportive friends and work associates.
A 1962 graduate of Logan Hills High School, he was a longtime associate of Premier Manufacturing, where he worked as a supervisor. He formerly worked in accounting as a tax preparer and was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard, serving as a sergeant.
Pastor David Marquis conducts a celebration of life at 7 p.m. Monday at Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville. At his request, cremation will take place and his ashes will be scattered at a later date.
Delores J. Price
Delores J. Price, 78, of West Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Marion on Aug. 15, 1929, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Fisher) Zupp.
She also was preceded in death by one son, James Michael Price; and one granddaughter, Carolyn Renae Zedeker. Survivors include three daughters, Darlene (Stan) Kinney of Rushsylvania, Linda Garber of Bellefontaine and Cindy (Barry) Cox of Belle Center; one son, Matt (Renee) Price of Bellefontaine; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She worked for many years at the Department of Job and Family Services in Logan County.
Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were handled by Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, Highland Chapel, West Liberty.
Ronald A. "Ronnie" Boldman
Ronald A. “Ronnie” Boldman, 63, of Kenton and formerly of Lakeview, died at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 2, 2007, at Triumph Hospital, Lima.
He was born in Allen County on April 28, 1944, a son of the late Fred A. and Phyllis J. Boldman. On April 1, 1967, he married the former Vernita Kay Prater and she died June 7, 1996.
Survivors include four daughters, Belinda (Rick) Lafferty and Janice (James) Hord, both of Kenton, and Rhonda Nicholas and Joyce Boldman, both of Sidney; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a sister, Dianna Titus of Lakeview; brother, Timothy (Diane) Boldman of Lakeview; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Doyle R. Miller AMVETS Post 39, Lakeview.
A graveside funeral begins at 11 a.m. Friday in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio, with military honors by the Logan County Honor Guard. No calling is planned. Sanford-Eichholtz Funeral Home, Lakeview, handled arrangements.

Douglas B. Clark
Douglas B. Clark, 72, of Kenton, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born in West Mansfield on June 12, 1935, a son of the late Lloyd and Maxine McGinnis Clark. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Phillip Clark Sr.
On Feb. 6, 1960, he married the former Betty L. Weaver and she survives, along with a son, Ron (Cynthia) Foy of San Francisco; a grandson, Anthony (Monique Scott) Foy of Philadelphia; three brothers, Roland (Marilyn) Clark of Plain City, Joseph (Janice) Clark of Tucson, Ariz., and Alex (Carolyn) Clark of Fremont; and a sister, Darlene (Dwight) Britford of Columbus.
A U.S. Army Reserve veteran, he worked at Rockwell for 30 years and was president of the Hardin Community Federal Credit Union. He also was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Lima, where he served on the board of trustees.

Kenneth L. Cummins
Kenneth L. Cummins, 84, of Bellefontaine, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born in Lakeview on Sept. 13, 1923, a son of the late Forrest L. and Katie P. Hawkins Cummins.
On Aug. 3, 1973, he married the former Beatrice Bradley in Zanesfield, and she survives, along with two sons, Michael Ray (Angela) Bradley of Bellefontaine and Edward Kenneth (Patricia) Cummins of Lewistown; four grandchildren; two greatgrandsons; six stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Tine Langworthy, two brothers and one sister.
The former superintendent for the city of Bellefontaine’s refuse department, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion.

Martha E. Landis
Martha E. Landis, 90, of South Vienna, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, in Columbus.
She was a member of the United Church of South Vienna and the Rebekkah Circle. Her husband, Harold L. Landis, preceded her in death in 1988
. She is survived by her children, Ivan L. (Ruth) Landis, Carroll (Roland) Hoge, Betty (Carl) Stonerock, Harold W. (Judy) Landis and Jane F. (Mike) Webb; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the United Church, South Vienna. Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ingling- Williams Funeral Home, South Charleston. Interment is in South Vienna Cemetery.
