Clara Louise Cooper, 71, Glouster, died Monday, Jan. 10 at her residence.
Born May 26, 1928, Malvern, daughter of the late David A. and Mae Mable Six Bennett, she was married
for 52 years to Robert J. Cooper, who survives.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster.
Burial will be in Hollister cemetery.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

ARNOLD GLANEMANN
Arnold D. Glanemann, 58, Jacksonville, formerly of the Corning area, died Sunday, Jan. 9 at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville.
Born Nov. 6, 1941, Hollister, Athens County, son of the late Ernest "Pat" and Frances Brooks Glanemann, he was married
for 32 years to Bobbie J. Dunwoody Glanemann, who survives.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Also surviving are four children, Regina Glanemann Verkest of Moxie, Arnold D. Glanemann Jr. and Amy McQuaid, both of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Donald (Melissa) Campbell of Corning; 12 grandchildren, Bobbie Glanemann, Kenny Verkest, Billy Verkest, Kerie Verkest, Beth Glanemann, Arnold "A.J." Glanemann III, Kelly McQuaid, Dustin McQuaid, Gregory McQuaid Jr., Samantha Freer, Alan Campbell and Bryan Barnhart Jr.; four brothers, Ernie Glaneman of Hemlock, Haddis Glanemann of New Lexington, Jack Carroll of Shawnee and Elmer Glanemann of Corning; and three sisters, Phyllis Simpson of New Lexington, Mrs. Paul (Alice) Bourne of New Straitsville and Tilly Glanemann of Corning.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Emmett and Barney; a sister, Lorrett; and a granddaughter, Jayna Glanemann.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee.
Burial will be in Beach Grove cemetery.

JASPER McNUTT
Jasper L. McNutt, 77, Logan, died Monday, Jan. 10 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Son of the late Peter and Ethel McNutt, he was married
to Hazel McNutt, who survives.
A World War II Army veteran, he was retired from Anchor Hocking after 35 years of service.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda D. Ruff of Lima and Elizabeth Strawcer of Lancaster; two grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Jackson of Lancaster and Mrs. Jess (Pearl) Wallace of Lancaster; eight stepchildren, Pauline Horn of Hilliard, Loretta Castle of Carroll, Jackie Wildermuth of Logan, Mary Hughes of Columbus, Marie Christian of Georgia, Pamela Evans of Alabama, David Castle of Florida and Junior Castle of Florida; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth McNutt; a brother, William McNutt; and three sisters, Lodi Cremain, Ruey Heisten and Olive Muck.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Ruth Paulk, 75, Washington Court House, formerly of Nelsonville, died Monday, Jan. 10 at Wintersong Village Nursing Home, Washington Court House.
Born Aug. 27, 1924, Athens County, daughter of the late John and Annie Shelton Allen, she was the widow of Charles J. Paulk.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
CHESTER TURNER
Chester H. Turner, 82, Lancaster, died Sunday, Jan. 9 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
Born Oct. 3, 1917, South Bloomingville, son of the late Wilbert and Hazel M. Schaal Turner, he was married
to Helen Paxton Turner, who survives.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elk cemetery, McArthur.
At the request of the deceased, no calling hours will be observed.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

ALICE ELIZABETH CHRISMAN
Alice Elizabeth "Betty" Hack Chrisman, 86, San Marcos, Calif., formerly of Logan and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 6 of natural causes.
Born Nov. 8, 1913, Hocking County, she married
Claude "Chris" Chrisman in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a record-setting basketball player for Logan High School and a graduate of Ohio University.
Surviving are a daughter, Sally Lindsay of Escondido, Calif.; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.
She also was preceded in death by her twin sister, Peggy Yaw, who died in 1998.
Her ashes will be scattered at sea on Jan. 21. No services are planned.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
MARJORIE JOHNSTON
Marjorie Huston Johnston, 78, Logan, died Thursday, Jan. 6 at Logan Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 24, 1921, daughter of the late Hart and Mary Carsey, she was the widow of Clint Huston and Earl Johnston.
She was retired from Drew Shoe Factory.
Surviving are six nieces and six nephews.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam Carsey, Arthur Carsey and Charles Carsey; and two sisters, Helen Hartfield and Hester Huffines.
Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery.
JEAN STICKDORN
Jean E. Nye Stickdorn, 42, New Straitsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 11 at Doctors North Hospital, Columbus.
Born Nov. 20, 1957, Nelsonville, she was the daughter of Jack and Ann Wilson Nye of New Straitsville.
She was employed at William Brooks Shoe Company for 20 years.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Bill (Jennifer) Souders Jr. of New Straitsville; a niece, Stephanie M. Souders of New Straitsville; uncles and aunts Ed and Mary Nye of Gahanna, Cynthia Nye of Kirkland, Tom and Rita Wesney of Lancaster, Nancy Tate of New Lexington, Jackie Young of New Lexington, and Jerry and Joan Hite of McConnelsville; a grandmother, Virginia E. Wilson of McConnelsville; and special friend Steve Brown of New Straitsville.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Caroline Nye; maternal grandfather John Wilson; maternal grandmother Vernona Bosley; and two uncles, Harry and Larry Nye.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee, with the Revs. Ernie Perkins and Stanley Wilt officiating.
Burial will be in New Straitsville cemetery.

NAOMI GASTIN
Naomi Marie Gastin, 85, a resident of Owosso, Mich., the past 36 years, died Thursday, Jan. 13 at Memorial Healthcare Center, Michigan.
Born July 14, 1914, Nelsonville, she was the daughter of Amos and Anna Lent Lehman and the widow of Othel Gastin, who died in 1963.
She was valedictorian of Nelsonville High School, class of 1932.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Gastin of Owosso; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Smith of Ft. Myers, Fla., Mrs. Edith Taylor of Nelsonville and Mrs. Kathryn Camp of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Meredith and Clyde.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at The Nelsonville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Smith Chapel cemetery, Logan.
The body will rest from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Nelson-House Funeral Home, Owosso, Mich. Friends may visit 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church.

CHARLES HANDA
Charles R. "Mick" Handa, 69, Murray City, died Thursday, Jan. 13 at Groveport at the home of his son.
Born Aug. 23, 1930, Jacksonville, he was the son of William and Helen Swaro Handa and the husband of Gloria L. O'Nail Handa, who survives.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City.
Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 Saturday at the funeral home.
ROBERT STEWARD
Robert Henry Steward, 85, Logan, died Thursday, Jan. 13 at the Logan Healthcare Center after an extended illness.
Born April 25, 1914, Logan, he was the son of the late Earl Wayne and Eliza Ann Reynolds Steward and the husband of Hildred Erma Pargeon Steward, who survives.
A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Formerly employed at Sun Glow Furniture and Coffman Stair companies, he retired as a pattern tool and die maker from Buckeye Steel Castings Company in Columbus. He also formerly worked as a pattern maker for North American Corporation in Columbus. He served as a Santa Claus volunteer for 27 years for area children.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary W. (Joyce) Steward of Logan and Robert E. (Linda) Steward of Mansfield; a daughter, Mrs. Rob (Sharon) Griffith of Canal Winchester; a brother, Charles (Eileen) Steward of Logan; a sister, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Weaver of Dayton; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth, Chester, Donald, Jackie and Earl Steward, and a sister, Pauline Rush.
Funeral services will be held noon Saturday at Carbon Hill cemetery, Ward Township, Carbon Hill, with the Rev. Robert E. Dauber officiating. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Adjutant General's Honor Guard.
No visiting hours will be observed.
Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Home.
