MARTHA SMITH
Martha Lee Smith, 96, Logan, formerly of Saint Marys, died Friday, Jan. 21 at Logan Health Care Center after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 16, 1903, Saint Mary's, daughter of the late Abraham and Louisa Glass Fishpaw, she was the widow of Don L. Smith.
A 1927 Miami of Ohio University graduate, she taught high school English and history. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Mary's.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah S. Keynes of Logan; five grandchildren, Charles H. Keynes II of Logan, William W. Keynes Jr. of Logan, Alex Adkins of Cohasset, Mass., Chip Adkins of Canton and Claire Charley of Akron; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Fishpaw of Saint Marys.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Adkins; two sisters, Mary Noble and Virginia Steva; and a brother, Robert Fishpaw.
Private graveside services will be held at Elm Grove cemetery, Auglaize County, Saint Marys.
No calling hours will be observed.
Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Home.
GRACE STARNER
Grace Starner, 91, Lancaster, died Thursday, Jan. 20 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home No. 2.
Daughter of the late Worley and Mary Perrigo, she was married
for 66 years to Edward L. Starner, who survives.
She was a member of Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church and Olivedale Senior Citizens Center.
Also surviving are two sons, Stanley E. (Sharon) Starner of Logan and Gary D. (Martha) Starner of Lancaster; two daughters, Don (Joyce F.) Boorse of Pataskala and Don (Connie) Kelley of Sunbury; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Almetta Williams of New Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Roger C. Starner and two sisters, Charlotte Starner and Doris Starner.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, with the Rev. John W. Harra officiating.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church.
GLORIA BROOKS
Gloria Brooks, 77, Nelsonville, died Sunday, Jan. 23 at Pine Hills Continuing Care Center, Nelsonville.
Born June 15, 1922, Nelsonville, daughter of the late Stuart and Marie Martin Hoodlett, she was the widow of John W. Brooks, who died Feb. 19, 1996.
She was employed at the former Hoodlett Department Store in Nelsonville. She, along with her husband, owned and operated the William Brooks Shoe Company, now known as Rocky Shoes and Boots.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Nelsonville. She graduated from Nelsonville High School and attended Ohio University.
Surviving are three sons, Mike (Pam) Brooks, Stuart (Denise) Brooks and Jay (Miki) Brooks, all of Nelsonville; two daughters, Mrs. William (Patricia "Tee") Robey and Mrs. John (Barbara) Fuller, both of Nelsonville; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Harold McConnell officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Tuesday at the funeral home.

RUBY HUDSON
Rudy M. Hudson, 86, Logan, formerly of the east side of Columbus, died Saturday, Jan. 22 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1913, Hocking County, daughter of the late John S. and Gertrude Kuhn Whitcraft Sr., she was the widow of Vaughn V. Hudson, who died in November 1981.
A 1930 Gibisonville High School graduate, she was a former employee of North American. She also operated a vending route.
Surviving are a daughter, Lois Burgoon of Logan; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Margaret Slate of Gibisonville.
She also was preceded in death by a stepson, Roland Hudson; and two brothers, Ellsworth Whitcraft and John S. Whitcraft Jr.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. John Williams officiating.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn cemetery Mausoleum, Columbus.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 Tuesday at the funeral home.
TONYA KIMBERLIN
Tonya Sue Kimberlin, 32, Wilmington, died Friday, Jan. 21 at Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati.
Daughter of Billy L. (Susane Marie) Hamby of Logan and Terry Lynn Kastle Hamby of Wilmington, she was married
to Norman L. Kimberlin, who survives.
She was an office clerk at Bob and Carl's Southridge Store in Wilmington.
Also surviving are two sons, Lee Kimberlin and Jeremy Kimberlin, both of the home; two brothers, Billy L. Hamby of Wilmington and Cody Blaine Hamby of Logan; two sisters, Mrs. James (Shannon Marie) Weems of Kemp, Texas, and Michelle Marie Hamby of Logan; and grandparents, Birdie Estep of Vicco, Ky., and John and Vivian Kastle of Wilmington, Del.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery, Wilmington.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and noon until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
JOHN MARTIN
John G. Martin, 74, Logan, died Saturday, Jan. 22 at his residence.
Born Dec. 31, 1925, Sand Run, son of the late Silas and Marjorie Williams Martin, he was married
to Mary E. Pittman Martin, who survives.
A World War II Marine veteran, he worked at Coffman, Sunglow and Visadore. He retired after 28 years from Wolsky Stair in Logan.
Also surviving are a son, John G. Martin Jr.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.
Private graveside services will be held at Fairview cemetery, Rockbridge, with the Rev. Thomas L. Gates II officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.
SHARON LUTZ
Sharon Kay Lutz, 50, Logan, died Sunday, Jan. 23 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born March 10, 1949, Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Leonard E. and Edith Estella Smart Freeman.
Surviving are three sons, Dale R. (Christina) Lutz Jr. of Athens County and James M. and Justin R. Lutz, both of the home; four daughters, Jeannette Lutz and Frank Estep of Stockport, Mrs. Douglas (Dana) Scarberry of Amanda, Rubin J. Lutz and Harley Vincent of Logan and Lorrie L. Lutz and Timothy R. Windle of Logan; 11 grandchildren, Stacey and Jonda Levering, O'Neal Blackburn, Shelrina Lutz, Andriella Lutz, Natausha Lutz, Cassandra Lutz, Kayla Renee Cauthon, Shanelle Lutz, April Windle and Timothy Windle; two brothers, Charles and Harold D. Freeman, both of Lancaster; three sisters, Marcine Barron and Berdie Spangler, both of Logan, and Louwana Gordon of Sugar Grove; and previous husband and friend, Dale R. Lutz Sr.
She also was preceded in death by nine other brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Michael Martin officiating.
Interment will be in Shaw cemetery.

GENEVA THOMPSON
Geneva J. Thompson, 87, Logan, died Sunday, Jan. 23 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born July 18, 1912, Hocking County, daughter of the late Reason Birtram and Bessie Boal Poling, she was the widow of Floyd R. Thompson, who died June 1, 1997. They were married
for 66 1/2 years.
She was a member of Logan Church of the Nazarene and attended Freedom Memorial Church in Logan.
Surviving are a son, Denver (Joye) Thompson of Lancaster; four daughters, Mrs. Jacob (Joyce) See of Belleview, Fla., Mrs. Douglas (Janice) Moyer of Lancaster, Mrs. Larry (Judith) Sikes of Horton, Mich., and Mrs. Robin (Lois) Watkins of Rockbridge; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Virgil and Carl Poling.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Melvin Truex officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

EVA M. KLOTZ
Eva M. Klotz, 79, Glouster, died Monday, Jan. 24 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born July 20, 1920, Athens County, daughter of the late Alfred and Lucille Robison Wright, she was the widow of Kenneth Klotz.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.

CLYDE E. BEOUGHER
Clyde E. Beougher, died Tuesday, Jan. 11 in Oceanside, Calif.
Born Aug. 10, 1907, Ross County, son of the late Erving and Rosetta "Rose" Fetherolf Beougher, he was the widower of Glada Dresbach Beougher, who died in 1981. The couple were married
for 51 years.
Raised in Salt Creek Township in Pickaway County, he received a bachelor's degree in agriculture from The Ohio State University. Following graduate work at Michigan State, he returned to OSU where he received his master's in 1954.
He taught agriculture in West Liberty and Salem Township schools from 1930 until 1941. He also taught in Delaware County School from 1941 until his retirement in 1965.
He received the honorary State Farmer award from Ohio Future Farmers of America in 1961 and also was named honorary National FFA Farmer in 1961 at the national convention held in Kansas City, Mo.
By invitation from OSU in 1971, he was made Goodwill Ambassador to Europe.
He worked for the Delaware County Bank for 21 years as public relations associate and was a former director of the bank until his death. He also was named an honorary director of the bank.
He was a 50-year member of Delaware Chamber of Commerce and was named an honorary citizen in 1994.
He was a longtime member with 50 years of perfect attendance in the Kiwanis Club of Delaware. He served as club president in 1960 and was chairman of the agriculture committee for the club.
He was a 60-year member of Masonic Lodge F&AM of West Liberty and Master of that lodge in 1935. He also was past patron of the Order of Eastern Star at West Liberty.
He was granted an honorary membership to the Hiram Masonic Lodge 18 F&AM in Delaware. He was a 32nd degree member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and a member of Aladdin Shrine Temple AAONMS in Columbus.
He was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church and most recently attended Zion United Methodist Church of Christ in Delaware.
Surviving are his second wife, L. Crystal Bechtel Beougher of San Diego, Calif.; a stepson, James (Jean) Bechtel of San Diego, Calif.; two nephews, Larry J. (Linda) Beougher of Blue Rock and Dwight B. (Jane) Beougher of Westerville; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Judson (Donna) Beougher of Laurelville; several grand-nieces and nephews; several great-grand-nieces and nephews; as well as numerous students known as "his boys;" and countless friends.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Judson J. Beougher, and a sister, Alice M. Beougher.
Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 55 W. Lincoln Ave., Delaware, with Dr. Everett L. Tilson officiating.
A time of sharing will follow the service.
