NORA VERMILLION
Nora Mae Vermillion, 66, Interlachen, Fla., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 22 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Florida.
She was married
for 17 years to Harold S. Vermillion, who survives.
A native of Aberdeen, she had resided in Interlachen, Fla., since 1993, coming from Bonita Springs, Fla. She had worked with Lancaster Glass Corporation, Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Naples, Fla., as well as Loosk Company in Naples, Fla. She also was a member of Interlachen Church of God.
Also surviving are son, Virgil Howell of New Straitsville; four daughters, Mary Lou Peabody of Naples, Fla., Tina Sinift and Phyllis Hebble, both of New Straitsville, and Laura Lawrence of Interlachen, Fla.; a brother, Herbert Davis of Stewart; a sister, Nellie Taylor of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Interlachen Church of God with Pastor Clarence Fink officiating.
Arrangements are by Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Interlachen, Fla.
ROLAND ROGER DECKER
Roland Roger "Road" Decker, 64, Logan, died Thursday, Feb. 24 at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville.
Born March 27, 1935, Hocking County, son of the late Clifford and Lille Wright Decker, he was married
to Anna Lou Yocum Decker, who survives.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Ivan Pullin officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Nelsonville.
Friends may call from noon until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
CLARENCE RAE DICKEN
Clarence Rae Dicken, 73, Franklin, died Thursday, Feb. 24 at his residence.
Born Oct. 26, 1926, Gore, son of the late Sherman and Daisy Howdyshell Dicken, he was married
for 43 1/2 years to Nell Rice Dicken, who survives.
A Korean War Army veteran, he graduated from New Straitsville High School in 1944. He received his bachelor's degree in education at Ohio University in 1951 and his master's degree in 1957.
He was employed by Franklin City School District in 1958. He became industrial arts department head and was junior class adviser. He retired in 1984 with 34 years in education. He was a life member of the state teachers' system.
He was a member of Mingo Lodge 171 F&AM of Logan and Harrison Chapter 255 OES, William S. Roof Chapter 238 RSM of Franklin, Franklin Lions Club and Franklin United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mishelle and Trisha, both of Franklin.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Edward and Warren Lee Dicken.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, S. Main and W. Third St., Franklin, with the Rev. Dale Lykins officiating.
Burial will be in Woodhill cemetery with full military honors.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Unglesby Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin.
VERA ANN EADS
Vera Ann Eads, 59, New Plymouth, died Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Doctors Hospital North, Columbus.
Daughter of Elaine Newman of Nelsonville and the late Arthur G. Newman, she was married
to Lloyd G. "Sugar" Eads, who survives.
She was pastor of Fellowship United Methodist Church in Logan. She will be sadly missed by all.
Also surviving are a son, Daniel Pancake III of North Huntingdon, Pa.; three grandsons; and two granddaughters.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Roger "Pook" Newman.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. March 18 at Fellowship United Methodist Church.
DONALD L. THURSTON
Donald L. "Duke" Thurston, 59, Laurelville, died Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Berger Hospital, Circleville.
Born Nov. 12, 1940, Hocking County, he was the son of the late Olie and Gertrude McNichols.
Surviving are a son, Donald Thurston of Newark; three sisters, Dorothy Hardman of Williamsport, Edna Tatman of South Bloomingville and Mrs. Donald (Mary) Unger of Tarlton; and three brothers, James (Sherril) Thurston of Sanborn, Ind., Dale (Rose) Thurston of Creola and Charles Thurston of South Bloomingville.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Thurston, and four brothers, Clarence, Robert, Jack and David Thurston.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville.
Burial will be at Mount Carmel cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

KENNETH M. CRAWFORD
Kenneth M. Crawford, 63, Nelsonville, died Friday, Feb. 25 at Logan Health Care Center.
Born July 14, 1936, in Circleville, he was the son of the late John and Esther Pinnix Crawford.
A teacher at Hocking College for 28 years, he received the Martha Holdren Jenning Scholar Award as an outstanding teacher. He was a member of the St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church and a 29-year member of the Elks Lodge 543 of Nelsonville. He graduated from Circleville High School and Ohio University and served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by two brothers, George and David (Dolores) Crawford of Circleville; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Marylin) Huffer of Circleville and Mrs. Walter (Carolyn) Roach of Logan; several nieces and nephews including a niece and godchild, Mrs. Scott (Heather Arnold) Foltz of Logan.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Mark and Walter Crawford.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church in Buchtel with the Rev. Father John Mucha officiating.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Forest cemetery, Circleville.
Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 Sunday at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, where a Christian Wake service will be held 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

RALPH ROBINSON
Ralph R. Robinson, 70, Glouster, died Thursday, Feb. 24, at OSU Medical Center-East, Columbus.
Born July 29, 1929 in Jacksonville, son of Mary Edith Duncan Robinson of Dayton and the late Raymond E. Robinson, he was married
to Dorothy Kinser Robinson of Glouster, who survives.
Friends may call 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster.
Funeral services will he held 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Larry Wolfe officiating.
Interment will follow at Maplewood cemetery, Glouster.
LUCILLE SHERLOCK
Lucille Sherlock, 92, Bremen, died Tuesday, Feb. 22 at her residence.
Born Aug. 25, 1907, Preston County, W.Va., daughter of the late Elmer and Lissie Bolyard, she was the widow of Floyd Sherlock.
She was a member of Bremen United Methodist Church and Bremen Senior Citizens.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Bonita) Feener and Mrs. Thompson (Joyce) Turner, both of Bremen, and Karen Barkhurst of Junction City; a son, Francis (Judy) Sherlock of Bremen; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Reed and Doris Barnes, both of New Lexington; and three brothers, Ralph Bolyard of Texas and Vincent and Gerald Bolyard, both of New Lexington.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Myron Sherlock; two granddaughters, Diane Sherlock Whittman and Donna Ann Turner; two sisters, Rudy Decot and Ruth Purvis; and two brothers, Clarence and Ruffus Bolyard.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bremen United Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Meredith officiating.
Burial will be in Friendship cemetery, Junction City.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 Friday at Snyder-Sheridan Funeral Home, Bremen, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

RONALD BATEMAN SR.
Ronald T. Bateman Sr., 69, died Saturday, Feb. 26 at his residence in Longstreth.
Born April 5, 1930, Nelsonville, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Perry Bateman, he was married
for almost 49 years to Donna M. Williams Bateman, who survives.
A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, he was founder and charter member of Ward Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a former Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 76 of Nelsonville. He was a member of NRA, Steel Workers Union and a former employee of Armco Steel Plant in Logan. He was a Nelsonville High School graduate.
Also surviving are three sons, Ronald (Connie) Bateman Jr. of Logan, John (Christy) Bateman Sr. of Carbon Hill and Donald (Jane) Bateman of Longstreth; four daughters, Cheryl Vermillion of Logan, Mrs. Jim (Karen) Bush of Logan, Mrs. Pooder (Kendra) Wilson of Logan and Keita Trowbridge of Longstreth; 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Rebecca, Roger, Elizabeth, John Jr., Jeremy, Jimmy, Charles, Jesse, Veronica, Nicole and Shawn; a brother, Phil Bateman of Buchtel; four sisters, Mary Jane Bateman, Anna McMillen and Mrs. Bill (Rachel) Kerr, all of Nelsonville, and Mrs. Dick (Wanda) Goulley of Dresden; and a sister-in-law, Norma Bateman of Nelsonville.
He also was preceded in death by a half brother, Leonard Jones; three brothers, Perry, Clarence "Guy" and Earl Bateman; and a son-in-law, Ed Vermillion.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Ed True officiating.
Burial will be in Downhour cemetery, Hocking County.
Military services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.

ANNA F. BREWER
Anna F. Brewer, 72, Nelsonville, died Saturday, Feb. 26 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1927, Blue Rock, daughter of the late John and Verna Finkle Johnson, she was the widow of John L. Brewer.
She retired from Goodyear in Logan and was a member of World Wide Church of God.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Brewer of Nelsonville; stepdaughter, Lois Brewer of Cadillac, Mich.; a step-granddaughter, Kourtney Brewer of Cadillac, Mich.; a brother, Ben Johnson, Arkansas; and a sister, Jane Reush of Norwich.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Johnson, and a sister, Margaret Brewer.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, with Pastor John Karlson officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.
