MARGARET ANN AUFLICK
Margaret Ann Auflick, 70, Athens, formerly of Nelsonville, died Saturday, May 6 at her residence.
Born May 27, 1929, Athens County, daughter of the late Clarence and Grace Miller Nichols, she was the widow of Andrew Auflick.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Nelsonville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Tuesday at the funeral home.

VICKI L. BARNEY
Vicki L. Barney, 39, Laurelville, died Friday, May 5 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
Daughter of Mildred E. Caldwell of Lancaster and the late Wilson I. Caldwell, she was married to Jacob "Jake" Barney, who survives.
She was a retired nurses aide at Crestview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Home I.
Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Mandy Barney; a stepson, Jason Barney; a twin sister, Mrs. Jim (Sandy) Harmon of Lancaster; a god-daughter, Jennifer Harmon of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Sheridan Funeral Home, Lancaster, with the Rev. Harold R. Sturm officiating.
Burial will be in Dew cemetery, Corning.

MAUREEN S. CORLEW
Maureen S. Corlew, 64, Millfield, died Saturday, May 6 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, The Plains.
Born Sept. 5, 1935, daughter of the late Melvin and Josephine Klima McKrell, she was married to Fred Corlew of Millfield, who survives.
No funeral services will be observed.
No calling hours will be observed.
She was cremated, according to her wishes.
Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster.

CHRISTO E. DICKEN
Christo E. Dicken, 83, formerly of Yarger Road, died Sunday, May 7 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.
Born Oct. 14, 1916, Guernsey County, son of the late Vernon and Laura Tyo Dicken, he was the widower of Nellie Mae Dicken, who died in 1996.
He formerly operated Dicken's Grocery in Amity for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Trudy Justice of South Bloomingville and Judy Niebel of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eileen Baker of Hocking County.
He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Daryl, Vernon, Roy and Willis Dicken.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
No calling hours will be observed.
The family suggests contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are by North-Dilley Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.

LAWRENCE KERWOOD FICKEL
Lawrence Kerwood Fickel, 85, Logan, died Sunday, May 7 at his residence.
Born April 19, 1915, son of the late William Edward and Bertha D. Mowrey Fickel, he was the widower of Amelia Moodie Fickel.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a retired Logan service station and tire shop owner.
He attended Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Luther (Blanche) Mowery of Logan and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce E. Fickel; and a sister, Hilda Reeves.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Paul Elhard officiating.
Cremation will follow with interment in New Straitsville cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Brighten Your Future, P.O. Box 698, Logan, 43138.

DOROTHY G. POLLUM
Dorothy G. Pollum, 74, South Bloomingville, died Sunday, May 7 at her residence.
Born Dec. 7, 1925, Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Davis Pollum.
Surviving are three brothers, Robert F. Pollum of South Bloomingville, Owen E. "Joe" Pollum of Frankfort and Jarold (Kay) Pollum of Matton, Ill.; special friend, Jean Thress; special aunt, Inez Lowery; and special cousin, Esther Rudolph.
Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Green Summit cemetery, Adelphi.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville.

RONDA L. GRIFFEY
Ronda L. Griffey, 42, Circleville, died Sunday, May 7, as a result of a car accident on March 14.
Born Dec. 2, 1957, she was the daughter of Ronny Martin of Circleville and Rosehelen Caldwell Martin of Nelsonville.
She was a member of the Eagles.
Also surviving are three daughters, Dawn, Jennifer and Jacquline Griffey, all of Circleville; one son, Clarence Griffey of Circleville; three grandchildren, James and Christen Ratliff and Austin Knece; five brothers; three sisters; grandmother, Mildred Caldwell of Logan; and grandfather, Virgil Martin of Circleville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Edgar Griffey; grandmother, Dorothy Martin; and grandfather, Edgar Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Mike Holbrook officiating.
Burial will be in Forest cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Fund for Ronda Griffey, c/o National City Bank.

JAMES H. SEIBER
James H. Seiber, 78, Glouster, formerly of Chauncey, died Monday, May 8 at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home, Hocking County.
Born March 11, 1922, Athens County, he was the son of the late Hodge and Ruth Mae Hendren Seiber.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Chauncey Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Chauncey, with the Rev. Stephen Bentley officiating.
Interment will be at Nye cemetery, Chauncey, where military graveside services will be performed by the Combined Color Guard Unit.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1580 King Ave., Columbus, 43212-2000 or to the Chauncey Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, P.O. Box 245, Chauncey, 45719.

LINDA SUE FREEMAN
Linda Sue Freeman, 45, Glouster, died Thursday, May 4.
Born May 21, 1954, Athens County, she was the daughter of Donna Brunton, Glouster, and the late Arthur Everett.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday. at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster.
Burial will be in Taylor Ridge cemetery, Glouster.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

MARY A. HAWK
Mary A. Hawk, 74, died Tuesday, May 9 at her residence.
Born Dec. 16, 1925, Hocking County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lawrence Souders and Minnie Corsen Souders.
She worked for many years as a treer at the former H.C. Godman Shoe Factory in Logan and was a former employee of Essex Wire and Rayovac in Lancaster.
Surviving are a son, Jacob T. (Cheryl) Hawk of Columbus; three grandchildren, Matthew M. Hawk of Kent, Mark M. Hawk of Columbus, and Jesse K. Hawk of Newark; five brothers, Merle Souders of Pataskala, Harold Souders, Daniel Souders and Paul Souders all of Logan and Willie Souders of Axtell, Texas; and two sisters, Rachel Cochran of Logan and Marie Davis of Parma.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael L. Hawk, and four brothers, James, Joseph, Harry and Walter Souders.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan with the Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 on Friday at the funeral home.

FRANCES ANN GRATTAN
Frances Ann Woodard Grady Grattan, 65, Sheffield Lake, formerly of Logan, died Wednesday, May 10 at her daughter's home, following a lengthy illness.
Born July 1, 1934, Columbus, daughter of Frances and Durward Woodard of Nelsonville, she was the widow of Ralph Grattan.
A teacher of gifted students with the Sheffield/Sheffield Lake School System, a program she pioneered, she retired in 1996. A 1952 graduate of Starr-Washington/Union Furnace High School, she earned a bachelor of education degree in 1959 from Ohio University and a master in education degree from Baldwin Wallace University.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Sheffield Lake; Phi Delta Kappa sorority; Ohio Association Gifted Consortium; Friends of the Sheffield Lake Library; and a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar (an educational honor for exceptional teachers). She was a World Finalist Coach for Olympics of the Mind and a member of the National Education Association, Retired and the Ohio Education Association, Retired.
Surviving are two daughters, MaryBeth Grady-Miner of Mankato, Minn., and Catherine A. Burchell of Sheffield Lake; a son, Stephen P. Grady of Milford, Mich.; a sister, Louise Christian of Nelsonville; and five grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick Grady; and a sister, Mary Jane Brown.
Prayer services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Busch-Burmiester Family Chapel, 163 Lavon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 521 Harris Road, Sheffield Lake with Father Stephen Shields officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Teresa cemetery, Sheffield Village.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 today at the chapel.
