Robert W. Canan Sr., 62, Columbus, formerly of Logan, died Saturday, June 10 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.
Born Oct. 10, 1937, son of Edith Gainer of Logan and the late Lloyd "Bill" Canan, he was married
to Jo A. Canan, who survives.
Retired from White-Westinghouse after 27 years and Kroger Co. after 37 years, he was a member of Ralph R. Rickly Lodge No. 670 F&AM, Aladdin Shrine Temple, Moose Lodge No. 11 and Eagles F.O.E. No. 2244.
Also surviving are a son, Robert W. Canan Jr. of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Melinda) VanSickles of Groveport and Melissa Canan of Columbus; nine sisters, Mrs. John (Judy) Williams of Columbus, Mrs. Larry (Diane) Johnson of Pine City, Minn., Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Padrutt of Westerville, Mrs. Larry (Sue) Miller of Cleveland, Mrs. Charles (Bonnie) Brooks of Rockbridge, Mrs. Larry (Connie) Eckert of S. C., Annette Harrison of Logan, Mrs. Jim (Janice) Smith and Mrs. Don (Donna) Perry of Columbus; two brothers, Donald (Linda) Gainer of Groveport and William Gainer of Portland, Ore.; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and special 11-year-old Sarah, who has always held a special place in his heart.
He also was preceded in death by stepmother, Betty Canan; stepfather, Wilber Gainer; and son, Russell Canan.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Graumlich & Son Funeral Home, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, with Dr. William L. Snider officiating.
Masonic services will be 8:30 p.m. today.
Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Logan.

TOM HATFIELD SR.
Tom Hatfield Sr., 71, Logan, died unexpectedly Friday, June 9 at his home.
Born May 8, 1929, Cinderella, W.Va., son of the late Valentine Wall and Edith Watters Hatfield Sr., he was married
to Evelyn Copley Hatfield, who survives.
Retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics after 39 years of service, he attended the Church of God in Logan.
Also surviving are four sons, Tom (Cindy) Hatfield Jr., Don (Cookie) Hatfield, Valentine (Connie) Hatfield, and Jeff (Lisa) Hatfield, all of Logan; three daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Debby) Dexter and Mrs. Dean (Pam) Sigler of New Plymouth, and Mrs. David (Amy) Grove of Logan; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight brothers, Robert "Ted" (Frances) Hatfield of Logan, Wall (Lucy) Hatfield Jr., Bryant Hatfield and Rodney (Nancy) Hatfield, all of Delbarton, W.Va., Billy Frank (Shirlene) Hatfield of Newark, Rush (Anna Mae) Hatfield, Jimmy (Hazel Sue) Hatfield, and Troy (Sarah) Hatfield, all of Columbus; two sisters, Mildred Lowery of Logan and Sylvia (Jans) Cisco of Delbarton, W. Va.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Leroy Hatfield; and two grandchildren, Jordan David Grove and Lacey Jo Grove.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Cardaras Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Cordle officiating.
Interment will be in Knollwood cemetery.
GENEVA D. LEFFLER
Geneva D. Leffler, 88, Nelsonville, died Sunday, June 11 at Pine Hills Continuing Care Center, Nelsonville.
Born January 21, 1912, Snow Fork, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Eakin Fellum.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Greenlawn cemetery, Nelsonville.
DOROTHY VIOLET RUTTER
Dorothy Violet Rutter, 81, Logan, died Saturday, June 10 at her residence after an extended illness.
Born June 30, 1918, Logan, daughter of the late Grant and Emma Stiff Hysell, she was married
to Charles Warden Rutter, who survives.
Retired from Hocking Valley Community Hospital after 34 years of service, she was a member of the Logan Church of the Nazarene and a Gray Lady at the former Cherrington Hospital and Hocking Valley Hospital.
Also surviving are a son, Mickey E. (Patti) Rutter of Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Karolyn R.) Kunz of Logan; five grandchildren, Shawn (Linda) Brenick of Logan, Trevor (Heather) Brenick, Chad (Bethany) Rutter, Angie and Aimee Rutter, all of Columbus; and two great-grandchildren, Eric and Meaghan Brenick of Logan.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Oakley, Kingsley, and Merritt Hysell; and a sister, Flossie Hysell Hicks.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas L. Gates II officiating.
Burial will be in Knollwood cemetery, Enterprise.
MARTY WOLFE
Marty Wolfe, 68, Logan, died Saturday, June 10 at her residence.
Born October 13, 1931, Hocking County, daughter of the late Delbert and Fannie Appleman Conkle, she was married
to Earl "Bill" Wolfe, who survives.
She was a lifetime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Also surviving are a son, William (Brenda) Wolfe of Logan; two daughters, Mrs. Jon (Peggy "Susie") Lehman of Logan, and Mrs. Mitch (Holly) McBride of Orlando, Fla; three grandchildren, Jonathan McBride, Dustin Wolfe and Brianna Wolfe; and a sister, Dorothy Beougher of Logan.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Smith.
At Marty Wolfe's request, a private service and burial was held today at Ebenezer cemetery in Perry County with Vernon Barrell officiating. Arrangements were by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Fairfield County, 1111 E. Main St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130-4099.
DANIEL TIMOTHY WOOFTER
Daniel Timothy Woofter, 44, Shawnee, died Saturday, June 10 at Fairfield Medical Center.
Born Dec. 20, 1955, Buckhannon, W.Va., son of Brooks and Lorraine Young Woofter, he was married
to Alicia Miller Woofter, who survives.
A supervisor at Nicofibers, Inc. in Shawnee, he was a member of the Crooksville Eagles, American Legion, John Tague Post 188 New Lexington, a hog member in a Harley owner's group and a U.S. Army veteran.
Also surviving are three sons, Israel (Renee) Woofter of Chillicothe, Daniel Woofter and Rodney Miller, both of Shawnee; two brothers, David Woofter of New Lexington and John (Charlotte) Woofter of Shawnee; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Vickie) Burnett of Chipley, Fla., Naomi Colvin of New Straitsville, and Mrs. Tom (Mary) Scott of Shawnee; two grandchildren, Michael Woofter of Chillicothe and Cheyenne Miller of Nelsonville; mother-in-law, Regina Miller of Shawnee; five brothers, Don (Marlene) Fisher of Glenford, Dale (Bonnie) Miller of Newark, Kenny Miller (Doreen Lyons) of New Lexington, John Miller (Evelyn Altier) of Corning and Leonard (Wilma) Miller of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Debbie Moulton of Shawnee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Jane Woofter.

to George W. Archer, who survives.

ROBERT JOSEPH KRANNITZ
Robert Joseph "Bobby Joe" Krannitz, 58, Logan, died Tuesday, June 13 at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, after a brief illness.
Born January 17, 1942, Logan, son of the late Paul Edward and Mary Reed Dougall Krannitz Sr., he was married
to Jean Ann Schultz Krannitz, who survives.
A member of the U.S. Army Tank Corps, having served in Germany from 1960 to 1962, he was a drummer with the Second Army Band during his service. He retired from Logan Goodyear after 35 years of service and was a D.J. and an avid drummer and golfer.
Also surviving are two sons, Tony J. Krannitz (fiancee Candy Moody) and Greg (Heather) Krannitz; a daughter, Mrs. Ace (Lori L.) Allman; two grandchildren, Molly Ann Krannitz and Jaden Jean Ann Allman; two brothers, Paul E. (Margaret) Krannitz Jr. and John "Jack" (Barbara) Krannitz; a sister, Mrs. James (Mae) Thompson; a sister-in-law, Carmita Diane Krannitz; and an aunt, Jane Dougall, all of Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Richard "Rick" Rolland Krannitz.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sugar Grove, with the Rev. Father James A. Geiger officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Military services will be conducted by the Combined Veterans of Hocking County.

ROBERT FRENCH CASNER
Robert "Bob" French Casner, 85, Marysville, formerly of Logan, died Tuesday, June 13 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, after an extended illness.
Born March 26, 1915, Dresden, son of the late French L. and Mary Hannah Feagans Casner, he was the widower of Jeane Annette Casner, who died in 1995.
A WW II Army veteran serving in New Guinea, he was a photographer and owner/operator of Art Kraft Studio in Logan from 1950 to 1998. He was a member of the Logan Kiwanis Club, a life member of Kiwanis International, member of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge #79 F&AM in Zanesville and a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Barbara J.) Lawrenz of Marysville, and Sue A. Thompson of Logan; six grandchildren; a brother, Ed Casner of Groveport; and a sister, Nancy Vaughan of Pickerington.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary K. Wheeler officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

PHYLLIS JEAN HAWK
Phyllis Jean Hawk, 63, Jackson, died Wednesday, June 14 at her residence.
Born October 27, 1936, Hocking County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mildred Kennard Walter.
A former employee of Keith's Men Shop and Kroger in Jackson, she retired from Merillat Industries.
She is survived by four daughters, Jane Hughes of Westerville, Joan Michael of Jackson, Jill Byler of Portsmouth and Jody Leach of Jackson; two brothers, Chuck Walter of Carbon Hill and Larry Walter of Radcliff; a sister, Charlotte Dawley of Logan; six grandchildren, Doug, Melissa, Lindsay, Nichole, Kristen and Korey; a step-grandchild, Meeka; and a great-grandchild, Kelly.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home, 28 Harding Ave., Jackson, with the Rev. Wendell Vermillion officiating.
Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
