RUTH HOWDYSHELL
Ruth F. Howdyshell, 90, Lancaster, died Monday, July 31 at Logan Health Care following a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 7, 1909, Murray City, daughter of the late John and Ethel Beerman, she was married
for 67 years to George Howdyshell, who survives.
She was a lifetime member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as Sunday School teacher, pianist and in other leadership roles.
One of her greatest joys was spending 24 years in teaching, including several as a third-grade teacher at Bremen Elementary in the Fairfield Union School District.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alan (Marlene L.) Osterhoudt of Tavares, Fla.; a son, Dr. Ronald L. (Carol) Howdyshell of Florence, Ala.; four grandchildren, Thomas B. (Christy) Howdyshell of Anchorage, Alaska, Michael C. (Nancy) Howdyshell of Florence, Ala., Dianna L. Selman of Billings, Mont., and Janet L. Smith of Belgrade, Mont.; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3376 Wheeling Road NE, Lancaster, with Pastor Janet N, Smith officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.

WANDA F. DICKSON
Wanda F. Dickson, 58, Wagner Road, Laurelville, died Monday, July 31 at her residence.
Born April 10, 1942, Harland, Ky., daughter of the late Columbus and Grace Valallay Malone, she was married
to Glenn Dickson, who survives.
She worked at Amanda Bent Bolt.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hill Funeral Home, Adelphi, with the Rev. Demint officiating.
Burial will be in Green Summit cemetery, Adelphi.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
A Pocahontas service will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

MARY MAYS
Mary Mays, 62, Carbon Hill, died Monday, July 31 at Doctors Hospital North, Columbus.
Born June 28, 1938, Nelsonville, daughter of Leura Jarrell Willison of Carbon Hill and the late Pearl L. Willison, she was the widow of Daniel P. Mays.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Interment will be in Sand Run cemetery, Hocking County.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
BILL O'DELL
Bill R. O'Dell, 47, New Plymouth, died Sunday, July 30 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 13, 1952, Circleville, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ethel Mace OšDell Sr.
He was a self-employed woodworker.
Surviving are a special friend and companion, Jean May; a son Andrew O'Dell of Columbus; two brothers, Jack (Darlena) O'Dell and Richard O'Dell; and three sisters, Mrs. John (Pat) Reed, Judy O'Dell and Darlene Conner, all of Circleville. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Miki O'Dell.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of the New Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge, with the Rev. Filmore C. Ashcraft officiating.
Entombment will be in New Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 Wednesday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home.
MAUDE GLASPELL
Maude E. Glaspell, 82, Logan, died Monday, July 31 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.
Born Nov. 2, 1917, Hocking County, daughter of the late George and Anna Disbennet Wyskiver, she was the widow of Clark E. Glaspell.
She, along with her husband, owned and operated Clarkšs Garage in Logan for many years.
Surviving are a son, Gary Glaspell of Logan; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Marilyn) Whitcraft, of Logan; four grandchildren, Mrs. Dick (Wanda) McLaughlin, Mindy Whitcraft, and Mark Glaspell, all of Logan, and Mrs. Gregg (Melissa) Cireddu of Georgia; four great-grandchildren, Bobby Jo, Kristen, Ryan and Loryn Cassidy, all of Logan.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Paul, Harold and Charlie Wyskiver; five sisters, Netty Hopkins, Annabell Poling, Mary Boyer, Velva Lash and Nellie Armstrong; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Glaspell.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. King Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in Elk cemetery, McArthur.

BILLY J. EVANS
Billy J. Evans, 67, Wauseon, died Wednesday, Aug. 2 at his residence.
Born July 7, 1933, Conway, Mo., son of the late Harley and Verna Clark Evans, he was married
for 43 years to Shirley Keene Evans, who survives.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Ohio Operating Engineers.
Also surviving are a son, James Edward Evans of Jackson, Mich.; a daughter, Tina Walsh of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Christy Evans and T.J. and Haley Dozer; and a sister, Nina Conrad of Logan.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Lavern Evans; and a sister, Geneva Gillen.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at New Fairview cemetery, Logan, with the Rev. Winfred W. Holiday officiating. Burial will be in New Fairview cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan.

EDITH FAE GIBSON
Edith Fae "Peggy" Gibson, 84, died Monday, May 29 in Marana, Ariz.
Born June 25, 1915, daughter of Harley and Nora Gump of Wana, W.Va., she was married
for 36 years to Carl L. Gibson, who survives.
She lived in New Straitsville after moving from West Virginia and then moved to Marana, Ariz. in 1995 where she spent many hours with her friends playing bingo.
Also surviving are two sons, Lenord Hendershot of Powell and Lesley Hendershot of North Ridgeville; a daughter, Virgina Evans of Waynesburg; three sisters, Ellen Booth of Youngstown, Bonnie Carpenter of Fairmont, W.Va., and Zetta Mitchell of West Newton, Pa.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Diane and Janis; and two brothers, Edgar Gump and Cecil Gump.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at New Straitsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernest Perkins officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, New Lexington.
All who knew her loved her; she will be missed by all.

Regina L. Mathews, 71, Glouster, died Monday, July 31 at Health Park Hospital, Fort Myers, Fla.
Born Feb. 17, 1929, Jacksonville, Fla., daughter of the late William and Gertrude Wright Loos, she was the widow of Arthur Mathews.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Glouster.
Burial will be in Queen of Heaven cemetery, Glouster.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Wake services will be held 7:30 p.m. today at the church.

BERNADINE M. WILLIAMS
Mrs. Bernadine M. Reynolds Williams, formerly of Glouster, died Friday, Aug. 4 at her residence in Columbus.
JUDITH HOPE WOODS
Judith "Judy" Hope Woods, 48, Lancaster, died Friday, Aug. 4 at home after 12 1/2 years of courageously battling brain cancer. Born April 11, 1952, Lancaster, daughter of Mary B. Clum Scott of Lancaster and Earl Thomas Scott of Logan, she was married
for 29 years to Roger L. Woods, who survives.
A 1970 graduate of Lancaster High School, she was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, a 22-year member of the Caring and Sharing Ohio Child Conservation League and a former employee of Anchor Hocking Corporation and Diamond Power. She was on disability leave from Northeast Ohio Gas Corporation, where she served as executive secretary to the president and was the first employee hired by the company.
Also surviving are a son, Brandon Woods of the home; twin daughters, Audra and Alicia Woods, both of the home; a stepmother, Louise Scott of Logan; a mother-in-law, Esther M. Woods of Lancaster; three brothers, Tim Scott of Lancaster, Nelson Scott of Glouster and Gail (Tonya) Flowers of Westerville; a sister, Mrs. Glenn (Sue Rice) Blume of Millersport; a brother-in-law, Ron (Jan) Woods of Fort McCoy, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Michael (Marilyn) Stevens of Logan and David (Cindy) Stevens of Buchtel; a stepsister, Mrs. John (Linda) Woods of Woodlake, Calif.; special caregivers, Marlene Simmons and Jennifer Huston of Lancaster, Herb Wallace and David and Judy Scott, all of Logan; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas D. Scott; grandparents, Gurney and Audrey Clum and Flemon and Nelle Scott; and a sister-in-law, Judy Woods.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, with Pastor Lawrence "Bud" Myers officiating.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster.
Pallbearers will be nephews John and Mark Woods, Milo and John Scott and Chad and Travis Rice.

Betty J. Hartman, 82, Logan, died Saturday, Aug. 12.
She was the widow of Floyd Hartman, who died May 31, 1993.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
