Regena K. Carter

Regena K. Carter, 57 (nee Salisbury) of Lorain died on Sunday, July 17, 2005 at Community Health Partners Hosp. & Surgical Ctr-W in Lorain, OH following a long illness.
Mrs. Carter was born on January 27, 1948 in Pikeville, KY and has lived in Lorain for the last 42 years. She had been a nurses aide at both Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain and Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Avon.
She attended Grace Baptist Church. She loved playing bingo, cooking and crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband Jerry R. Carter Sr., to whom she was married on Aug. 8, 1970, her daughter, Rebecka Carpenter of Lorain, sons Jerry R. Carter Jr., Steven Carter, Leonard Carter, Christopher Carter all of Lorain, Raymond Carter, Terry Carter both of Louisville, KY and 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters Sheila Salisbury, Joann Cruz, Janet Salisbury all of Lorain, Sharon Thacker of Pikeville, KY, brother Harold Salisbury of Lorain and many neices and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Nina Boyd in 1997 her parents Walter and Mary (nee Roberts) Salisbury, brotyhers Tommy and Randell Salisbury and sisters Teresa Otero and Kimberly Salisbury.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 11:00 am until funeral time at 1:00 pm.
Regena K. Carter will be buried at Elmwood cemetery in Lorain, OH.

Marion G. Coleman

Marion G. Coleman (nee West) 84, of Lorain, Ohio died on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Amherst Manor Nursing Home in Amherst, OH, following a long illness.
Mrs. Coleman was born on January 10, 1921, in Lorain, OH, living here most of her life. She graduated from Lorain High School. She was a member of the former First United Methodist Church, now known as Cornerstone United Methodist Church, and a member of Lakeland Women's Club.
She had been employed in the credit department of Ted Jacob's Clothing Store for several years before its closing. She was most recently a home maker.
Mrs. Coleman was an avid golfer; golfing in several leagues.
Mrs. Coleman is survived by her daughter, Cathy Miller of Lorain, 2 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jay W. Coleman in 1985, daughter Kaye Janka in 1971, and her parents Frances and Ruth (nee Grundy) West.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Friday, July 15, 2005, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with the funeral service following at 11:30 am, with Rev. Dale Warrick pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park cemetery in Amherst Twp., OH.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The American Heart Association, 1689 East 115th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.

Walter E. "Bud" Dulaney

Walter E. "Bud" Dulaney, 73 of Lorain died on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at Autumn Aegis Retirement Center in Lorain, OH following a long illness.
Mr. Dulaney was born on July 29, 1932, in Point Marvin, PA. He grew up in Carmichael, PA and moved to Lorain permanently in 1965. He was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Lorain.
He was a US Army veteran. He retired as a security officer with Downtown Detective Agency in Cleveland in 1981 after 10 years service.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Dulaney is survived by his wife Janet D. (nee Waldorf) Dulaney to whom he was married on August 15, 1964, daughter, Mary Opal Vickers of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, brother John Edward Dulaney of Pittsburgh, PA, sisters Mary Lou Greenlee of Pittsburgh, PA, and Ruth Ann St. Mary of Caledonia, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fred A. and Mary Opal (nee Simmons) Dulaney, and sister Genevieve Moninger.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Thursday, September 1, 2005, from 2-4 PM. Additionally, friends may call Thursday evening from 6 until funeral time at 7:00 PM in the New Apostolic Church, 3929 Leavitt Road, Lorain.
Interment services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 2, 2005, in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park cemetery in Amherst Township with full military honors provided jointly by the VFW Post 451 and the American Legion Post 30.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the New Apostolic Church, 3929 Leavitt Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.

Neil F. Elgar

Neil F. Elgar, 72 of Lorain died Sunday, November 6, 2005, at Community Health Partners & Surgical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mr. Elgar was born in Lorain on May 22, 1933. He lifelong resident of Lorain. He is a US Army Veteran of the 101st Airborne Division stationed in Germany from 1953-1955. He was retired from US Steel as an inspector with 33 years service.
He is survived by a daughter: Deborah Weiland of Bay Village, OH, son: David Elgar of Sylvania, OH one grandson, sister: Connie Peters of Lorain, OH, and brother: Herb Elgar of Vermilion, OH.
Mr. Elgar was preceded in death by his wife Elsie on July 23, 1998, and his parents Homer & Minnie (nee McCormick) Elgar.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Also friends may call on Thursday 10:30 AM until funeral time at 11:30 AM in Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH 44052. The Reverend Dennis Stylski will officiate.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, OH.
The family suggest that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 43099 N. Ridge Road Elyria, OH 44035 or American Heart Association, Northern Lake Region 1689 E. 115th Street Cleveland, OH 44106.

Dorothy M. Fritsch

Dorothy M. (nee Six) Fritsch, 85 of Lorain, died on Sunday, August 21, 2005, at Life Care Center of Elyria in Elyria, OH after an extended illness.
Mrs. Fritsch was born on July 5, 1920, in Lorain, OH living here all of her life. She had owned and operated the Loop News Stand in downtown Lorain for more than 20 years, closing in the late 1960s.
She enjoyed her dogs.
Mrs. Fritsch is survived by her daughter, June L. Kuhn of Lorain, OH, sons, Edward F. Fritsch of Lorain, OH, Kenneth R. Fritsch of Elyria, OH, Robert A. Fritsch of Vermilion, OH,
9 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, brother James Six of North Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward F. Fritsch, 1992, her parents Ellsworth and Louise (nee Dolde) Six, and brother Kenneth Six.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Wednesday, August 24, 2005, from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Milorad Orlich, pastor of St. George Orthodox Church, officiating.
Dorothy M. Fritsch will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park cemetery in Amherst Twp., OH.

Richard E. Grassnig

Richard E. Grassnig, 88 of Lorain died on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Inn At Chappel Creek in Vermilion, OH following a long illness.
Richard was born on May 15, 1916 in Lorain, OH and was a life long resident. He was a 1935 graduate of Lorain High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII.
Mr. Grassnig was a retired custodian from the Lorain Board of Education. He was a member of the Espicopal Church of the Redeemer, American Legion Post # 30, and Masonic Lodge # 786 F & AM.
He enjoyed hunting and golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Helen Marjorie (nee Fair) Grassnig, son Richard W. Grassnig of Amherst, daughter Sally Radabaugh of Amherst, 3 grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Mr. Grassnig was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Minnie ( nee Koleno) Grassnig and a brother Louis Grassnig.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 with Rev. Stephen Sedgwick, rector of the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer, 647 Reid Ave. Lorain, Ohio 44052, officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 is handling the arrangements.

Joan A. (nee Binder) Gleisner

Joan A. (nee Binder) Gleisner, 69 of Lorain died at her home in Holiday Lakes near Willard on Saturday, April 9, 1005.
Mrs. Gleisner was born on Feb 25, 1936 in Lorain and was a life long resident of Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School and was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain.
Mrs. Gleisner is survived by her husband of 49 years, Donald A., daughters Jayne and Lisa both of Willard, one granddaughter, her parents, Gustav A. and Mildred (nee Nuhn) Binder of Lorain, sisters Jean McKitrick and Wilma Paghi both of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by a son Steve Gleisner.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, on Monday, April 11, 2005 from 5-8 pm.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Zion Luther Church, 5100 Ashland Ave., Lorain with Rev. Kent V. Wilson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard officiating.
Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park cemetery, Amherst Township.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to either Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Ashland Ave. Lorain, Ohio 44052, or Trinity Lutheran Church, 308 Myrtle Ave., Willard Ohio 44890
