Anne Mucha
Anne Mucha, 91 of Lorain died on January 31, 2008 at her home unexpectedly.
Miss Mucha was born in Rankin, PA on January 21, 1917, the daughter of the late Stephan and Anna (nee Budaj) Mucha. She has been a resident since She and her family moved to Lorain in 1927.
She was a Lorain High School graduate, Class of 1935, graduated Wittenberg College in 1939, and obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Education from Western Reserve University in 1958.
She was a teacher with the Lorain City Schools for 35 years at Whittier, Admiral King and Southview. She retired in 1975.
She was a avid reader.
Miss Mucha is survived by a sister Margaret Honecy of Lorain, nieces Janet Mitchell of Akron, Judy Marshall of Cortland, Jeanne Mowrey of Urbana and grand nieces Deborah Kavulla, Jacalyn McCready and Laura Mowrey Stokes, grand nephews Larry Marshall, Keith Mitchell, Mark Mowrey

Maxwell H. Meltzer
Maxwell H. Meltzer, 99 of Lorain died late Friday evening November 14th, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Avon.
Mr. Meltzer was born in Akron, OH on June 15, 1909, the son of the late Abraham and Tillie (nee Danzig) Meltzer. He spent most of his childhood in Cleveland and graduated from West High School in Akron. He has lived in Lorain for the past 54 years. He was an avid golfer and multi-year champion of the Lorain Jewish Open Golf Tournament.
He was a member of the Agudath B'Nai Israel Synagogue where he has served as head usher for 40 years and was also a member of the B'Nai Brith.
Mr. Meltzer was a retired sales manager at the former Work Wear, Inc., (NKA Aratex). He retired in the mid 1990's but continued for another 10 years as a consultant.
He is survived by a son Jerry Meltzer of Lakewood, two granddaughters Julie Meltzer, and Katie Meltzer Anders (Meltzer), great granddaughter Isabelle.
Mr. Meltzer was preceded in death by his wife Belle (Nee Javitz) Meltzer in December 1987, a son Arnold Meltzer in September 2004 and three brothers Paul Meltzer, Louis Meltzer and Julius Meltzer.
Graveside services in Salem cemetery, Sheffield Township, will be at 11:00 AM on Sunday, November 16, 2008 Cantor David Wolinsky officiating.

Richard R. Kreason
Richard R. Kreason, 72 of Lorain died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.
Mr. Kreason was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 16, 1935, the son of the late Kenneth E. and Mary D (nee Easler) Kreason.
He was a graduate of Lorain High School-Class of 1953 B. He also attended Oberlin Business College. He attended St. Mary Church in Lorain.
Mr. Kreason was a retired inspector for General Fire Extinguishing Corp in North Brook, IL. He retired in 2001 following 30 years service.
He was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching baseball and football, especially his grandson, Charlie, playing sports.
Mr. Kreason is survived by his wife of 30 years, Virginia J. (nee Dills) Kreason, daughters Cynthia Kreason of Fairhaven, MI, Patricia Kreason of Troy, MI, son Kenneth E. (Kathy) Kreason of Valparasio, IN, step daughters Daneen Lee, Mary Klier, Ann (David) Ramage all of Vermilion, grandchildren Jennifer Krause, Jamie Weaver, Amanda Gunter, Jeremy Krause, Herbert Jacoby III, Clinton Scaff, Charles Scaff, Cara Scaff, Matthew O'Brien, 9 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Marsha Coates of Royal Oaks, MI, Mary Dills of Carmel, CA, and brother-in-law Glenn W. (Loretta) Dills of North Ridgeville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Elda Mae (nee Coates) Kreason, and a brother-in-law, retired Lt. Col. Earl E. Dills.
Graveside services will be in Elmwood cemetery on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 9:00am with Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor St. Mary Church, officiating.

Marion LaBoe
Marion LaBoe, 80 (nee Davi) of Elyria died on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at her home, unexpectedly.
Mrs. LaBoe was born in Battlecreek, MI on March 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Rocco) Davi. She moved to the Lorain area in the early 1950's.
She worked as a homemaker.
She was very active with the ladies group at Elyria Retirement Community.
Mrs. LaBoe is survived by sons Bruce D LaBoe of Elyria, Terry A LaBoe of Zephyrhill, FL, gradchildren Christian and Erin LaBoe, sisters Katie Davi of East Lansing, MI., Tina Daleska of Huntley, IL., brothers Sam Davi and Charles Davi both of Grand Rapids, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. LaBoe in 1992, and sisters Mildred Davi, Ann Tootell and Jean Johnson.

David E. Luman
David E. Luman, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Winchester Place, Canal Winchester, Ohio.
Born to the late Chester and Marjorie (Saunders) Luman in Marysville, OH, David is also preceded in death by a daughter, Monica.
Survivors include his wife, Janet (Jackson) Luman; daughters, Johnnie Belinda (Christopher) Elder, Mary Beth-Ann (Brad) Ellis, Kimberly Luman; son, David Luman, Jr; brothers, Chester (Evie) Luman, Greg (Karen) Luman both of Lorain, Nicholas (Sharon) Luman of Bradenton, Fl, Timothy Luman of South Amherst and Phillip (Carol) Luman of Sanford, NC, sisters Carol (Ron) Poyle of Lorain, Barbara (Jeff) Kimberly of Norwalk, Lynette Witter of Elyria, Debra (Greg) Schon of Biloxi, Miss, Tammy (David) McNair of Dayton, TX, 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Lithopolis cemetery, 4365 Cedar Hill Road, Canal Winchester, OH.
Dorothy K. Maholic
Dorothy K. Maholic, 83 (nee Meyers) of Lorain died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Anchor Lodge Retirement Village.
Mrs. Maholic was born in Lorain, OH on February 16, 1924 in Lorain and was a lifetime resident. She retired in 1982 from the Lorain City Schools, after 15 years of service.
She enjoyed being with her family. Other interests included playing bingo,watching game shows, and the lottery.
Mrs. Maholic is survived by daughters Patti Richter of Queen Creek, Arizona, Elaine Hassler of Lorain, son Terry Maholic of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren and a brother Elmer Meyers of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Maholic in 1980, son Michael Maholic in 1974, her parents William and Amelia E. (nee Bertsch) Meyers, brothers Clinton, Charles " Chuck", Sam, Ray, Wilbur, Walter Meyers, sisters Ruth Plott, Esther Kopchik and a half sister Dora Skufeeda.

Twila Grace James
Twila Grace James, 99, (nee Busha) of Lorain died on Tuesday afternoon, August 26, 2008 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mrs. James was born in Lorain on April 17, 1909, the daughter of the late Arthur Busha and Mary Grace (nee Cobb) Busha Hewes. She was a 1927 graduate of Lorain High School, received a teaching certificate from Bowling Green State University in 1927 and then earned a BS in education from Kent State University in 1946.
She began her career spanning 35 years, in elementary education at Garfield School in Lorain, she then taught in the Clearview and South Amherst School districts. The final 21 years of teaching was spent at East Carlisle School in the Midview School District. She retired in 1969.
Mrs. James was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church Lorain, Ohio., taught Sunday School and member of the Martha Circle.
She was a member of the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority, Black River Historical Society, Queen City Chapter # 66 Eastern Star, AARP # 399, Lakeland Women's Club, and a life member of Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. James and her husband were avid travelers enjoying traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Switzerland, England and throughout the continental United States.
Mrs. James is survived by her caregiver Thomas A. Kramer of Lorain, many cousins and many people whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) James on April 15, 1996 and a brother Harold Busha.
There will be graveside services at Elmwood cemetery in Lorain at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2008 with Rev. Greg Sellers, pastor of the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road Lorain, Ohio 44053 in her memory.
