Barbara M. Andrews (nee McLaughlin) - 73 of Avon Lake, formerly of Pleasant Hills, PA, passed away, Saturday, January 12, at St. John West Shore Hospital, Westlake, following complications of pneumonia. Mrs. Andrews was born, May 11, 1928 in Fredericktown PA and has lived in Avon Lake for the past 34 years. She was a 1946 graduate of Baldwin High School, Pleasnant Hills. Mrs. Andrews worked for over 10 years as a sales clerk with Gorants Candies in the Promenade Shopping Center, Westlake. She was a member of St. Joseph Cahtolic Church, Avon Lake, and enjoyed golfing and gardening. Her husband, Raymond G. whom she married
, August 28, 1948, passed away, March 7, 2000. She is survived by her mother, Bertha McLaughlin (nee Walters) of Washington, PA, her sister Gayle Tarr of Washington, PA and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her father John H. McLaughlin. Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Bleden Rd., Avon Lake, from 4:00-9:00pm Monday, January 14. A prayer service will be at the funeral home, Monday at 8:00pm. Fr. Edwin David Littleton – 63, of Elyria, formerly of Bellaire, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, January 13, 2002 at his home, following complications of emphysema. Mr. Littleton was born, April 22, 1938 in Bellarie and has lived in Elyria for the past 27 years. Mr. Littleton worked as a truck driver, with such companies as, General Industries, Jefferson Trucking and Aztec Peroxides. He was a US Army Veteran, stationed as an MP at West Point and a 1956 graduate of Bellaire High School. Mr. Littleton was a musician, who enjoyed playing the organ and guitar and also enjoyed singing. He was a handyman and enjoyed cooking. Besides his of 32 years, Patricia (nee Trainor) he is survived by his daughter Sharon Littleton of Hiram, Ohio and a granddaughter Emilia. Other survivors include a brother Lawrence of Kissimee, FLA and two sisters, Margaret Stanley of Keystone Heights, FLA and Janet Nichols of Williamstown, WV. Besides his parents, William and Janet (nee Sandrus) he is preceded in death by a brother Bill Littleton. Avon Lake – Jennifer Lynn Romes – 22 of Avon Lake, passed away, Sunday, November 25, following complications of Cystic Fibrosis. Jennifer was born, December 16, 1978 in Cleveland and has lived in Avon Lake her whole life. She was a waitress at Spunkmeyers Pub, Avon Lake. She was a 1997 graduate of Avon Lake High School and was attending Lorain County Community College seeking a degree in advertising. Jennifer was described by her family as a free spirit, who enjoyed cooking and had a strong love for her nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Franklin J. and Joanne L. (nee Burris) Romes, Jennifer is survived by sisters; Debbie Lynch of Boston, MA; Carol Turner of Medina; Chantal Kryc of Avon Lake, Stephanie Waltjen of Avon Lake; Diane Scheutzow of Brunswick, and Margaret Ortiz of Cleveland; brothers Joseph of Bay Village and Franklin, Jr., of Brunswick. Other survivors include her maternal grandmother Forrest Burris and her life long physician Dr. Robert C. Stern. She is preceded in death by a nephew, William Quickle. Avon - Emily K. Morrison (nee Popovich) – 61 of Avon, formerly of Rocky River, passed away, Sunday, November 18, at New Life Hospice Residence Center, Lorain after a four year battle with cancer. Mrs. Morrison was born, February 17, 1940 in Westlake and had lived in Avon the past 14 years. Mrs. Morrison was founder and one time owner of Wear It Again, Consignment Shop in Avon. She was a 1958 graduate of Westlake High School, a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Avon and an Avid Golfer. She was a member of the Deer Track Golf Course’s Couples League. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, James O. Morrison. Other survivors include her daughter Susan (Dean) Golko of Palm City Fla.; mother Katherine (nee Gawlikowski) Popovich of Lakewood; granddaughters, Annie and Betsy; step-daughter Tiffany Morrison of Columbus; step-son Bryce Morrison of New York City; sister Patricia Vecchio of Lakewood and bother Nick Popovic of Fairview Park. She is also survived by nieces Sally, Kathy and Deana. She is preceded in death by her father Emil Popovich. Elyria – Shirley A. Burgett (nee Diederick) 69 of Elyria, passed away, Saturday, November 17, following complications of diabetes. Mrs. Burgett was born February 23, 1932 in Elyria and has been a life long resident. She worked as a private home health care aid for 12 years. Mrs. Burgett enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She found great joy in family dinners, picnics in the park and visiting friends and relative. She especially liked spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband the late James A. Burgett passed away in 1987. She is survived by daughters, Carol Gallardo and Bonnie Campolo both of Elyria and Holly Hatgider of Waterford, Conn.; sons, James Jr., Chris, Gregory, Jeffery, Neil and Scot (correct spelling) all of Elyria. Other survivors include 2 brothers James Diederick of Oberlin and Lee Diederick of Elyria; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter Teris; son Gary; grandson A.J. Burgett; a sister Jean Troutman and her parents, Frank and Dorothy (nee Lescher) Diederick. Mr. Green was born, June 20, 1926 in Lakewood. Mr. Green was a WWII Navy Veteran and had worked for Air Canada as a manager at both Cleveland Hopkins and Chicago O’Hare Airports for 30 years. He enjoyed Travel and stamp collecting. He is survived by his children, Barbara Green of Elliston, VA, Sara Green of Westlake, Douglas (Denise) of Carlsbad, CA and Brian (Helen) of Avon Lake. Other survivors include grandchildren, Amanda and Benjamin; a brother Robert (Carol) and his former wife, Barbara. Mr. Barnes was born, September 6, 1937 in Lakewood, has lived in Avon Lake his entire life and has spent time living in Clarksfield Twp. the past 7 years. Mr. Barnes worked as a Regulator Man with the Columbia Gas Company for 30 years. He was a 1955 graduate of Avon Lake High School and a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church, Avon Lake. He enjoyed cars, tractors and anything to do with the land. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Juanita (nee Bowers). Other survivors include 3 sons, Donald L. (Kathy) of Scotts, MI; David A. of Avon Lake, Douglas E. (Michelle) of Sheffield Lake; a sister Judith D. Young of Avon Lake and a granddaughter Joanna Barnes. Franklin A. Reinker – 78 of Avon Lake, passed away, Tuesday, October 16 at Bradley Bay Heath Center, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Reinker was born, December 10, 1922 in Westlake and has lived in Avon Lake for the past 55 years. Mr. Reinker worked as a superintendent with the Kirby Company retiring after 40 years. He was a WWII Veteran and a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gerry (nee Kruse). Sons, Robb (Nancy) of Highland Heights, James (Elizabeth) of Columbus and David (Gwen) of Chicago. Other survivors include 6 grandchildren, Jodi, Adam, Corey, Lori, Daniel and Brian and 2 great grandchildren Payton and Hannah. Mr. Reinker is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alvina (nee Lange) Reinker and twin sister Frances Bracher. Funeral Services will be at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 32747 Lake Rd., Avon Lake, Thursday, October 18 at noon. Pastor Eileen Schwabero-Woyen of the church will officiate.
