Elizabeth Wright died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Kendal at Oberlin, where she lived for the last 11 years. She was born, December 22, 1910, in Quaker City, Ohio, and her parents moved to Cambridge, Ohio when she was a child.
Graduating from Cambridge High School, she received her undergraduate degree from Muskingum College, her Masters Degree in Languages from Middlebury College, and took advanced Studies at Case Western Reserve University and at the Sorbonne in Paris.
Miss Wright was a teacher in the classroom for 41 years. Beginning her career in Wintersville, OH, She moved to Alliance High School and in 1941, accepted a position at Lorain High School, where she remained until retiring in 1972. She enjoyed teaching her students in English, French and Spanish classes and challenging those in Speech and Debate. Her Debate Teams received outstanding recognition in state competitions.
Her hobbies consisted of training dogs for obedience trials, outdoor photography, and listening to classical music. A great source of enjoyment was playing the violin and she did so in the Lorain County Symphony Orchestra during its existence.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Lorain, the Lorain Branch of the American Association of University Women, Lorain Sorosis, LEA, OEA, NEA, Lorain County Kennel Club and the Elyria Camera Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.G. and May (nee Benedum) Wright.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 2:30pm in the Auditorium of Kendal at Oberlin. The Rev. Carl Richter of the First Congregational Church will officiate.
Burial will be at the Quaker City cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the First Congregational Church or the Animal Protective League of Lorain County.

Lois J. Mason (nee Cahl) - age 76, of Elyria Township, passed away Monday evening September 27, 2004 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born March 13, 1928 in Amherst, OH and remained a lifelong Lorain County resident. Lois gradusted from Elyria High School, Class of 1946.
Lois retired from Pandy’s Garden Center in Elyria where she was employed with 10+ years of service as a sales clerk in the 70’s and 80’s.She was a member of the Polish Club in Elyria and an auxiliary member of VFW Post 1079. She enjoyed making crafts, flower gardening, sewing and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
She is survived by her children, David Mason of Eastlake, OH; Deborah (husband, Jerry) Hooper of Vermilion, Russell (wife, Margaret) Mason of Elyria and Carole (husband, Todd) Weegmann of Grafton; Grandmother of 7 and Great-grandmother of 5; a brother, Raymond E. Cahl, Jr. of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glendon Mason in 2000, a son Thomas R. Mason in 2004 and her parents, Raymond and Evelyn Cahl (nee Thorley).
Funeral services will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30 at 10:00am. The Rev. Nelson Slone, Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Center in LaGrange, OH, will officiate. Interment will be at Brookdale cemetery in Elyria, OH. Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 114 Second Street from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday.

Elyria, OH – Marilyn Ruth Seabold (nee Esler), 64, of Elyria, died Saturday, October 2, 2004, at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a long illness. She was born March 20, 1940 in Elyria where she resided most of her life. Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Elyria High School. She was a homemaker and member of A.A. She was an avid reader.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Wolf of North Ridgeville, Juanita K. Marquez of Elyria and two sons, Jay Scott Seabold and Thomas William Seabold both of Indiana; three grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Howington of Michigan and Janet Blystone of Stow, Ohio; and a brother Richard Esler of North Ridgeville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Deanna (nee Schuster) Esler and a sister, Susan Carol.
