Frederick Sirianni, Sr., age 82 of Lewisville, Ohio and formerly of Cleveland, beloved Husband of 61 years of the late Ada Mae Sirianni who passed away in November 2003; loving Father of Patricia Mae Labuda (Martin) of Brooklyn, Ohio and Frederick Sirianni, Jr. (Nancy) of Lewisville, Ohio; dear Grandfather of Rocky, Erica, Deneen, Hollie, Johnny, Michael, Lisa, Melissa, and Tony, and Great-Grandfather of Joshua and Jacey; dear Brother of Albert, Alonzo, Frank, Mary, and Jeanette, and the late John and Tony. United States Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, worked in the West Virginia Coal Mines and was a retired Electrician from J. & L. Steel Corp. after 30 plus years there. Edith M. Cook (nee Gallagher) – 93 of Avon, formerly of Lakewood, passed away, Saturday, December 4 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home following complications of congestive heart failure. Mrs. Cook was born, January 30, 1911 in Cleveland and had lived in Avon the past 20 years.
Mrs. Cook was a 1929 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Cleveland. She went on to Western Reserve University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then went to Cleveland Marshal School of Law, where she earned her Doctorate of Jurist Prudence in 1937.
Mrs. Cook was a school teacher at the former Gordon School, Cleveland where she was the 5th and 6th grade science specialist for 20 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Avon, 3rd Order of Franciscans, Holy Trinity Prayer Group, Christ Child Society and the Franciscan Order. She was described as having a strong love of her family.
Her husband of 19 years, Frank M. Cook, passed away in 1959. Mrs. Cook is survived by 4 sons: Dr. Terrence J. Cook (Linda) of Augusta GA, Frank X. Cook (Mimi) of Rocky River, John D. Cook (Mary) of North Olmsted, T. Barry Cook (Rose) of Columbus and 2 daughters: Rose M. Stalla (Dr. Robert) of Westlake and Mary D. Fergus (Terrence) of Avon. Other survivors include 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was Aunt Twink to Janet, Joanne and Fr. Richard Warner. Besides her husband, Mrs. Cook is preceded in death by her parents: James G. and Rosemary (nee Moran) Gallagher, a sister, Vivian Warner and brother: James Gallagher.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, Tuesday, December 7, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm. A Prayer Service will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, December 8 at 11:15am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, 33601 Detroit Rd., Avon at 12:00 noon. Fr. Michael J. Stalla, Mrs. Cook’s grandson, of St. Mary Church, Painesville, will officiate. Interment is in Holy Cross cemetery, Book Park. Johanna Proppe', age 80, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2004. Mrs. Proppe' was born January 16, 1924 in Cadac, MI the daughter of Joseph and Ceacil (Nee: Robinson) Nemecek. She was preceded in death by her husband John; brothers David (Alice) and Richard (Killed in WWII) Nemecek; sisters Lois Nemecek, Marilyn Rowe, Janet (Tony) Zientak; and special grandpa Dean Bowermaster. Survived by sons John (Chris), Mark, Brian, and Scott; daughters Laura, Mary Louise (Michael) Axtell, and Roberta; brother Douglas (Isabelle) Nemecek; sisters Gail (Clifford) Kaufman, Nancy (Carlton) Elliott; brother-in law Lawrence Rowe; grandchildren Johanna, John, Kaitlin, Kristin and Joseph Proppe' and Charles Axtell.
