Michael C. Richlin

Michael C. Richlin, age 45, passed away on August 23 at his home in Elyria from a rare sarcoma of the aorta. He was born and raised in Lakewood and also had resided in Rocky River and Avon Lake.
Upon graduation from Lakewood High School in 1977 he joined the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and later attended operating room technician school in San Diego, CA. In 1979, he became a part of the U.S. Marines Medical Division stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. He did a tour of duty of the Mediterranean on the U.S.S. Shreveport and a NATO cruise of Iwo Jima.
After completing his 6 year tour of duty, Michael was accepted into the Cuyahoga Community College Surgical Assisting Program. After graduation he was employed as Southwest General Hospital from 1982-1991. During this time he attended Malone College and received a Bachelor of the Arts in Management.
From 1991 until he became ill in 2003, Michael was employed at Lutheran Medical Center and was also affiliated with the Lake Hospital System.
Mr. Richlin was owner and President of Certified Surgical Associates and was a member of the National Surgical Assistants Association.
He loved to travel and there were few European countries and States he did not visit.
Devoted father and best friend of Michael A.; loving son of Jacqueline (Edwards) and Walter; wonderful brother of Pam Dillon (Steve), Kathi Sulenski (Rick), and Jenny May (Jim); and loving uncle of Jordyn and Justin Sulenski. Cleveland, OH- Mary Lois Roth (nee Phillips), age 90, of Cleveland, passed away Friday September 3, 2004 at the Bradley Bay Health Center, Bay Village, following a short illness. She was born December 15, 1913 in Cleveland where she lived most of her life. Mary was a lifelong member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Cleveland; a life member of the Forest City Chapter #374 Order of the Eastern Star; the Lakewood White Shrine and the South Lakewood Women’s Club. She enjoyed traveling, reading and working crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Roth is survived by her son, Donald (Annette) of Avon Lake and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold F. (1985) and her parents, Isaac B. and Sada (nee Shotwell) Phillips.
