Colin O'Donoghue

COLIN O'?DONOGHUE, age 28, died August 1, 2005 at his home in Lakewood. Colin was a graduate of Bay High School and graduated with a degree in education from Ohio University in 2001 and was pursing his master?s degree at Cleveland State. For the past four years he has taught in educational programs designed for students with special needs. He has worked in the YMCA?s Second Chance program and most recently in Mayfield School?s Learning Disabilities program.
Colin excelled in the sport of wrestling and achieved numerous accomplishments in high school, college and Olympic styles. He was a nationally ranked youth wrestler and two time undefeated and league most valuable wrestler in the Cleveland CYO wrestling for St. Raphael in Bay Village. At Bay High School, Colin was a three time Ohio high school state tournament qualifier, a two time state place winner and named to the All-Cuyahoga County first team. Colin twice won the Ohio State Olympic Freestyle championship and was a USA Wrestling Freestyle All American in 1993. He continued his wrestling career at Ohio University where he was a Mid-American conference place winner. For the past four years, Colin has coached at St. Edward High School and for the Ohio Junior National Freestyle team.
An avid outdoorsman, Colin was an expert climber and downhill skier. Along with his brother Ryan, he traveled extensively throughout North America. He particularly loved the mountains of Colorado where he and his life partner, Alexis Vinick, had planned to wed and live. He also enjoyed music of wide variety and often traveled to concerts across the country.
Colin lived a life filled with fun and laughter, the mark he leaves, more than anything else, is his great network of family and friends. A highly compassionate young man, Colin cared deeply and sincerely about so many people and possessed a unique ability to make them all feel special. The dignity and irrepressible spirit he showed in his two year fight against cancer was an inspiration to all around him.
The ?Rise Above It? Benefit fund, organized to support Colin in his fight for health will remain intact. All remaining and future proceeds will be earmarked for children and young adults who face challenges similar to those Colin battled. Contributions may be given to RAI Benefit at any National City Bank location.
Colin is the cherished son of Paul O?Donoghue and Carolyn O?Donoghue (nee Chambers); dear brother of Ryan; loving grandson of Phyllis and the late Paul O?Donoghue and Dorothy and the late Robert Chambers; special friend and partner of Alexis Vinick; beloved nephew of Kevin O?Donoghue, Mary McKeown, Susan Beatty and Joanne Pieranunzio; dear cousin of Jason Adams, Matthew Adams, Kristen Luff, Kevin Brown, Eileen Koler, Catherine O?Donoghue and David O?Donoghue; beloved friend of many.
Mass of Christian Burial at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Friday, August 5 at 10:30 am (please meet at church). Cremation by Busch Crematory. Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon from 1-4 & 6-9 pm Thursday.

Roy H. Walker of LaGrange, age 75, WW II Army Veteran, passed away on Saturday. October 16, 2004. Mr. Walker was born February 10, 1929 in Akron, Ohio the son of Frances and Virgie (nee:Walters) Walker.
Mr. Walker was a retired fork lift operator at Fisher Body GM. He was a active member of the Grafton Baptist Church, a 34 year member of the Elyria Masonic Lodge #787, an avid vegetable gardner, loved to travel and collect and restore antique cars.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Darrell Walker. He is survived by his beloved wife Gloria I. (nee: Jones) of LaGrange; loving children Della Bennett (Floyd) of Amherst, Floyd Hammond (Barbara) of Oberlin, Nella Ruth Carpenter (Gordon) of Amherst, Doreen Vayda (Ray) of LaGrange and Gloria Jean Jones (Johnny) of West Virginia; 7 grandchildren; 9 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Mr. Walker loved his family.

Frances A. Weibling, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. Mrs. Weibling was born December 28, 1917 in Lorain, Ohio the daughter of Vincent and Agnes (Schultz) Kaminski.
Mrs. Weibling graduated from Elyria High School and attended St.Agnes Catholic Church. She designed dried flower arrangements and refinished and collected antiques. Mrs. Weibling also worked for two years at Oakwood Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband Frederick W.; son Timothy A. (Deborah A.); grandchildren Timothy James and Gretchen Marie Weibling; great-grandchildren Netonis Regene Weibling and Aaliyah Saeeida Hamed; sisters Florence Kaminski and Hattie Kostyo and brother Robert (Ruth) Kaminiski; and many nieces and nephews. Prayer Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 611 Lake Avenue, Elyria. No time of visitation. Interment at St. Mary cemetery, Elyria.
