Sherri L. Carter
NORTH RIDGEVILLE - Sherri L. Carter, 49, of North Ridgeville, died Monday, October 20, 2003 at her home. She was born on March 3, 1954 in Berea, Ohio.
Sherri was a graduate of Midpark High School and Roosevelt College. She worked at Applied Technologies in Cleveland with many wonderful people for the last 3 years. Prior to that, she had worked in Houston, TX and Chicago, IL, for Stewart Title Company for 10 years.
Survivors include her Mother, Maxine Martin of North Ridgeville; 4 sisters, Sandi Martin of Oberlin, Vicki Sias of Geneva, Linda Coughlin of North Ridgeville, and Angela (Clinton) Behm of Amherst; 3 nieces, Michele (Alfred) Dawes, Kristi Sias, and Emily Behm; 3 nephews, Nyland Coughlin Jr., Frank James Coughlin, and Dustin Sias; one great-niece, Vada Coughlin; 2 great-nephews, A.J. and Mitchell Dawes; and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Charles Martin, in 2002.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 23, 2003, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at The Behm Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio, with the Rev. Ray Lamb of The Church of God in Conneaut officiating. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 23, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, OH 44035.

Matilda M. Lemire
VERMILION - Matilda M. Lemire, 90, formerly of North Richmond Road, Richmond, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Vermilion, where she has lived for the past three years because of illness.
She was born April 9, 1912, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Anthony and Theresa (Arch) Simon. She married George A. Lemire on July 5, 1937, at St. Boniface Church in Cleveland, and had been a resident of Ashtabula County since 1950, moving from Cleveland. Mrs. Lemire was an employee of the General Electric Co., retiring in 1977.
She was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church and was involved in the Bible study group at Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne M. Novotny of Ashtabula, and Therese M. Hoffman of Vermilion; four sons, Leonard P. of Akron, Daniel J. of Cleveland, Jerome A. of Jefferson, and Richard A. of Richmond Township; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Marie Lemire of Akron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, in 1977; two sons, Thomas J. in 1972 and Timothy G. in 1999; five brothers, Anthony, John, Henry, Carl and Frank Simon; and two sisters, Millie Banks and Theresa Gresmuck.
Cremation will take place at the Care Group Cremation Center in Jefferson with a memorial service to be announced. Burial of cremains will take place at Richmond Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Calasanctius Church Memorial Fund, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, 44047.
Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, is handling arrangements.

Eleanore I. Michonie
SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP - Eleanore I. Michonie, 74, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at her home on Plymouth Ridge Road.
She was born June 17, 1928, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Wilheim and Erna (Molanowski) Frey. She had been an area resident since she moved from Schwabisch Gmund, Germany, in 1948.
Mrs. Michonie was a member of the Sheffield Star Grange, Salvation Army Women's Club and the German Women's Club. She enjoyed German music and television, reading, the outdoors, collecting Hummel figurines, animals, dancing, traveling and baking.
Survivors include her daughter, Heidi H. Michonie of Sheffield Township; two grandchildren, Jennifer Long and Alan W. J. Long of Sheffield; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Heinz Frey of Encino, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Michonie, in 1989; and her parents.
Service is noon Wednesday at Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Harry Shipley, of Church of God Prophecy, officiating. Burial will follow at Gageville Cemetery.
Calling hour is 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Daniel L. Hommes
SHEFFIELD - Daniel L. Hommes, 75 of Sheffield Township, OH, died Thursday evening, June 19, at his home. He was born November 14, 1927, in Dayton, OH, a son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Humphreys) Hommes.
An area resident most of his life, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was employed at Union Carbide for 37 years as a crane operator. He was very active in the United Steelworkers of America Union Local 3081 where he was financial secretary. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Sheffield and had also attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Conneaut. He enjoyed spending time with his familly, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife JoAnne (Lott) Hommes whom he married Nov. 18, 1950; four daughters, Linda Hommes Stillman of Ashtabula, OH, Karen Rose Allison of Ashtabula, OH, Joan Hatch of Franklin, NC, and Jacqueline Hommes Peoples of Ashtabula, OH; three sons, Matthew, Mark and Michael Hommes all of Ashtabula, OH; three sisters, Margaret Jones and Betty Petry, both of Columbus, OH, and Frieda Holberg of Jackson, OH; four brothers, John of Eustis, FL, George of Ashtabula, OH, June of Jackson, OH, and Carl of Elyria, OH; 38 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Daniel A. Hommes in 1993; a daughter Jeannette Eland in 1998; four grandsons, Daniel A. Hommes, Jr., Joseph L. Hommes, Daniel Wayne Hommes, and Nathan Daniel Hommes, and a brother Harley Hommes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 25, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3700 St. Rt. 193, Sheffield Township, OH, with the Rev. Stephen Wassie officiating. Burial will be in Gageville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.

Helen L. Preston
NORTH RIDGEVILLE - Helen L. Preston, 86, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at the Center Ridge Nursing Home.
Mrs. Preston, formerly Gillespie, was a former resident of Conneaut.
Survivors include her son, David, of North Ridgeville; a grandson, David Jr.; a granddaughter, Holly Wenz; two great-grandsons; and two sisters, Vern Hutton and Lois Shumake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoey; two brothers, Forest and Ivan Gillespie; and a sister, Faye Holmes.
Graveside service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut.
Malloy Memorial Service, 1575 W. 117th St., Cleveland, has charge of the arrangements.

Leonard M. Richmond
SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP - Leonard M. Richmond, 87, of Route 193 North, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born March 12, 1915 in Denmark, Ohio, the son of Otis and Ethel (Foreman) Richmond and had been a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Richmond was a member of the Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church, the Sheffield Star Grange, the farm bureau, the Sheffield Fifty-Five Club and the Autumn Leaves Seniors Group. He enjoyed playing cards and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A longtime area farmer, he also drove buses for Buckeye Local School District for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Laura (Hayes), whom he married Sept. 26, 1945 in North Kingsville; two sons, Leonard Dale and Norman Arthur, both of Sheffield; eight grandchildren, Tim, Jeff, Dale, Amy, Barbara, Susan and Patricia Richmond, Cheryl Riggleman; seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mabel Nicka of Jefferson and Darline Allen of Ashtabula; and three brothers, Lester Richmond of Painesville, Otis Richmond of Dorset and Garland Richmond of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Richmond, three sisters, Alice Carleton, May Ketola and Lillian Brown; and his parents.
Service is 1 p.m. Friday, at the Ducro Funeral Services, Greenlawn Chapel and Edgewood Alliance Church, 3137 E. Center St., North Kingsville. The Rev. Betsy Schenk, former pastor of Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Sheffield Star Grange will conduct a Grange memorial service at 8 p.m.
