John A. Koeth
John Alfred Koeth, 40, of Wadsworth, formerly of Eaton Township, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Medina General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 24, 1960, in Cleveland and lived in Eaton Township most of his life, moving to Wadsworth four years ago. Mr. Koeth graduated from Midview High School in 1979 and was employed in a tire shop in Wadsworth.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Borchert Koeth Smith of Elyria; son, Jonathan Koeth of Elyria; sister, Ann Marie Samples of Columbia Station; brother, Michael Koeth of Avon Lake; stepfather, James Smith of Elyria; and stepbrothers, Richard Smith of Florida, Robert Smith of North Olmsted and Russell Smith of Sheffield Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred, in 1974, and brother, Daniel, in 1980.
There will be no visitation.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at Blackburn Funeral Home, Grafton.
Victor H. Noland
Victor H. "Skip" Noland, 62, of Akron, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Akron City Hospital.
He was born in Akron and was a lifetime resident of the city. Mr. Noland was a member of the Polish American Club, Polish National Alliance and P.R.C.U.A. Lodge 977. He was retired from the May Co. Mr. Noland was an avid bowler and golfer and served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Noland of North Canton; son, Rick Noland of Medina; mother-in-law, Stella Rachubka; brother-in-law, Jack (Janet) Rascob; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca, in 1989.
Service: 10 a.m. Friday at Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron. The Rev. Frank Basa will officiate.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.
Visiting hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Johanna M. Smith
Johanna M. Smith, 79, of Lutz, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, after a lengthy illness.
She was a Medina County resident for many years and retired as a secretary for the city of Brunswick. She was a former member of St. Ambrose and St. Francis Catholic churches and Medina County Rose Society. She was an avid member of Square and Contra Dance organizations in the area.
She is survived by her children, Gregory (Aurora) of Worthington, Mass., Clifford of Oceanside, Calif., Roger (Jean) of Bay Village, Brian of Portland, Ore., Beverly Frisk of New Port Richey, Fla., and Arlene (Thomas) Schneider of Medina; brothers, Frank Sedlak of Strongsville, Joseph Sedlak of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Michael Sedlak of Grafton; and grandchildren, Michael Lowe, Annie and David Frisk, and Ryan and Becky Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1985; brother, John Sedlak; and sister, Irene Warnke.
Mass of Resurrection: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina. Father Stephen J. Kaminski will officiate.
Burial: Westview Cemetery, Brunswick.

Dennis J. Stout
Dennis J. Stout, 40, of Wadsworth, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Mr. Stout was born in Akron and resided in Wadsworth for 20 years. He worked for Catholic Social Services, was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and was very active in the CYO program. Dennis was an Eagle Scout and former scoutmaster to Troop 381 in Copley.
A special thank-you to all of the nursing staffs and doctors at Akron City Hospital, Select Care and Visiting Nurses for all their care.
He is survived by his children, Stephanie, Andrew and Michael, all at home; mother, Emma of Copley; brothers, Dan (Laura) and Ken (Ann), both of Wadsworth; sister, Gladys (David) Anderson of Norton; and seven nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bert.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visiting hours: 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30.

Lonnie L. Antill
Lonnie L. Antill, 51, of Seville and Loudonville, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in Ashland.
He was born in Meadville, Pa., but became a Medina County resident for life. He was a carpenter and owner of Woodwright's Inc., Division 2, for 23 years. He loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (nee Podsiadlo) of Seville; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Jim McManamon of Parma; daughter, Crystal Antill of the home; son and fiancée, Jason M. Antill and Christy Warner of Wadsworth; mother, Mary Lou Antill of Brunswick; grandchildren, Jimmy, Ryan and Nicholas McManamon; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Eileen Antill of Chippewa Lake; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Elenore Podsiadlo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Gerald McPhillips, Barbara and Ed Lightcap, Mitch and Denise Podsiadlo, Andy and Tracy Podsiadlo and Steve Podsiadlo; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis, and brother, Lance.

John S. Brooks
John S. Brooks, 56, of Medina, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Medina General Hospital.
He was born July 9, 1944, in Cleveland and was a Medina County resident for 20 years. Mr. Brooks was a controller for Sterling Engine in Twinsburg. He attended St. Francis Xavier Church. Mr. Brooks graduated from Ashland University with a master's degree in business administration and also was a graduate of the University of Dayton. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his sons, John M. (Beth) Brooks of Lebanon, Ohio, and Christopher (Shelley) Brooks of Medina; daughter, Jennifer L. (Daniel) Hartman of Medina; parents, Sam and Mary Brooks of Parma; and sisters, Carol and Rosemary Brooks, both of Middleburg Heights.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.

Robert E. Colbrun
Robert E. Colbrun, 63, of Brunswick, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in Medina.
He was born March 11, 1937, in Cleveland and was a Medina County resident for many years. He worked for the Coast Guard as a material handler. He was a member of Brunswick Church of God, American Legion Post 234 (chaplain), Brunswick VFW and the NRA. He enjoyed muscle cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (nee Webb) of Medina; daughters, Toni Colbrun and Kelly (Colbrun) McDaniel of California and Arizona and Pamela French of Medina; son, Noel (Theresa) Rowe of Virginia; stepmother, Marian Colbrun of Brunswick; grandsons, Robert L. French and Jacob Rowe; nieces, Ginger, Rhonda and Yvonne Colbrun; close family friend, Del Martin; brothers, Edward (Debby) Colbrun of Litchfield Township and Dan of Brunswick; and many friends at the Coast Guard Exchange System in Cleveland.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brunswick Church of God, 5404 Center Road, Valley City. Pastor Eddie Noel will officiate.
Burial: Eastlawn Memory Garden, Brunswick.

Marion A. Greene
Marion A. Greene, 67, of Lodi, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Akron General Medical Center.
She was born in Painesville and lived most of her life in the Ashtabula-Saybrook area. While living in Ashtabula, she was an EMT and Red Cross trainer and former school bus driver. She moved to Valley City in 1978 and had lived in Medina County ever since.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Steve) Soltesz of Valley City; grandchildren, Drew, Cassi and Zack; and sisters, Louise (James) Laird of Texas and Betty (Dennis) Adams of Valley City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia Green, and brother, Robert L. Green.
Celebration of Life service: 7 p.m. Thursday at Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City, where family will receive friends until 8.
Burial will be held at a later date in Ashtabula.
Fannie M. Grogan
Fannie M. Grogan, 50, of West Salem, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Akron General Medical Center.
She was born March 14, 1950, in Wayne County, W.Va., to William and Myrtle (Vanhoover) Fortner. She was employed at Phil-Way Products in Lodi.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Jack Cooper and Janet Cooper, both of West Salem; brother, Edon Fortner of Wayne County, W.Va.; and sister, Dessie Mae Ramey of Wayne County, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Waltz United Methodist Church, 6465 Egypt Road, Medina. The Rev. James Patterson will officiate.
Visitation hours: One hour prior to service Saturday.

Charlotte Murray
Charlotte Murray, 91, of Medina, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Medina General Hospital.
She was born Dec. 9, 1909, in Lorain and was a Medina County resident for many years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Murray is survived by her son, Chance Murray of Sullivan Township; son-in-law, Gerald C. Arnold of Medina; grandchildren, Denise Burmeister and William Arnold, both of Medina, Eric (Barb) Murray of Wellington and Kelly (Adam) Pleska of Elyria; great-grandchildren, Erica, Chase and April Burmeister, Brittany and Sharla Murray, and Derek Pleska; sister, Leona Sheffield; and brother, Pat Sugaski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and daughter, Charlene Arnold.
Service: 2 p.m. today at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. Father Ron Bryda will officiate.
Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, Medina.
