Thomas A. Ridgley
Thomas A. Ridgley, 70, of Wadsworth, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, in Wadsworth.
He was born in New York and was a Medina County resident for 26 years. He was an avid golfer and Eagle Scout. He attended the Merchant Marine Academy and Trinity United Church of Christ in Wadsworth. Mr. Ridgley was a 31-year owner of Ridgley Inc./Tom's Sunoco.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Papp Ridgley of Wadsworth; sons, Mark Ridgley of Wadsworth and Eric Ridgley of Cuyahoga Falls; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Elaine Ridgley of Medina; daughter and son-in-law, Suellen and Peter Tulk of Toronto; and grandchildren, Anthony and Athena Ridgley, both of Medina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Alan.
Service: 1 p.m. Thursday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. The Rev. Jonathan Knight will officiate.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

James M. Salvino Jr.
James "Sal" Michael Salvino Jr., 31, of Cleveland, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Toledo General Hospital of auto accident injuries suffered near Lima on Friday.
He was born in Cleveland and was a member of the North Royalton Diversion Program. He was a seven-year member of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department.
Mr. Salvino is survived by his wife, Amanda (MacLennan) of Cleveland; parents, James "Sal" and Joanne Salvino Sr. of Brunswick; sisters, Karen Barlett of Cleveland and Dawn Salvino of Wadsworth; brother, Brendan Salvino of Brunswick; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Marion MacLennan of Strongsville; and brother-in-law, Chad MacLennan of Strongsville.
He was preceded in death by Denise Salvino.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Angels Church, 3644 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland. The Rev. Father John J. Cregan will officiate.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland.

Sherley E. Praul Corson
Sherley E. Praul Corson, 106, of Litchfield Township, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Evergreen Rehab & Specialty Care Center in Medina, where she resided the past three years.
She was born Oct. 4, 1894, in Butler, Ind., to George and Margaret McClintock Praul and resided in Litchfield for the past 25 years, wintering in California. Mrs. Corson was a school teacher in Indiana, starting her career in a one-room schoolhouse. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Downers Grove, Ill., and its Women's Society. She also was a member of Downers Grove High School PTA.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Cummings of Litchfield; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1948; daughter, Virginia Taylor; sister, Betty Baker; brother, Russell Praul; and one granddaughter.
Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. The Rev. Ed Lincoln will officiate.
Burial: Butler Cemetery.
Visiting hours: One hour prior to service Sunday at the funeral home.
Nina L. Marino
Nina L. Marino, devoted wife, mother and friend to all, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001.
She was born in Akron and was a lifelong resident of Medina. Mrs. Marino was a homemaker and member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Mrs. Marino is survived by her children, Joy (Bill) Hanlon of Medina, Nick (Mary) Marino of Akron and Steve (Linda) Marino of San Diego; brother, Jack S. (Norma) Tramonte of Medina; sister-in-law, Bobbee Tramonte of Medina; grandchildren, Meghan Hanlon, George and Nick Marino, and Lori Bull; great-grandchildren, Joey and Jesse Bull; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. George.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina.
Entombment: Rose Hill Burial Park.

Michael J. Jacob Sr.
Michael J. Jacob Sr., 76, of Brunswick, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, in Brunswick.
He was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Uniontown, Pa., and was a Medina County resident for 35 years. Mr. Jacob was employed as a foreman at Fieldman Bros. Contractors. He was a member of VFW Post 9520 in Brunswick and Union Local 310 in Cleveland. He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Jacob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sarah (nee Nicholson) of Brunswick; daughters, Carol Halley of Medina, Nancy Setinsek of Garfield Heights, Patricia (Gary) Nawrocki of Brunswick and Rose (Rick) Davis of Seville; sons, Michael (Carol) Jacob Jr. and John (Gerri Lynn) Jacob, both of Brunswick, Peter (Penny) Jacob of Lodi and Joseph Jacob of Medina; brothers, Frank, Joseph and Paul; sisters, Mary, Marge, Betty and Laura; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Rosie Jacob, and sisters, Helen and Ann.
Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Colette Parish, 330 W. 130th St., Brunswick. Father Thomas Montavon will officiate.

Edwin E. Gibson
Edwin Eugene Gibson, 75, of Medina, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Medina General Hospital after a long illness.
He was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Powhatan Point, Ohio, to Henry F. and Mary L. Gibson (now deceased). Mr. Gibson was a graduate of Medina High School and Western Reserve University, having received his bachelor's degree in business administration in 1960 and master's degree in business administration in 1965. During his working career, he was employed by Permold Co. in Medina, Cadillac Motor Division Brook Park, Central National Bank of Cleveland and Chesapeake and Ohio Railway (later becoming CSX), which he joined in 1966 as assistant treasurer in Baltimore. His last position with CSX was director of insurance in Jacksonville, Fla. He retired in January 1988.
Mr. Gibson was a member of Medina United Methodist Church, Beta Gamma Sigma, Medina Lodge 58 F&AM, where he served as worshipful master from 1952 to 1953, Royal Arch Masons of Ohio and Holyrood Commandery.
Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Carol, with whom he celebrated 461/2 years of marriage; sister, Sheila; aunt and uncle, Dorothea and Gilbert Schaefer of Kingwood, Texas; aunt, Natalie Jones of Medina; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Dolores Spencer of Westfield Township and Hobe Sound, Fla.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Spencer of Medina; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and friends.
Our thanks to Sheryl McLaughlin and Eleanor Painter of Genny's Home Health Care, Barberton, for their respite care and a special heartfelt thanks to Phyllis Mayes for her many kindnesses and loving care of Gene in the last year of his life and for her steadfast support of the family the last days he was in the hospital.
We want to acknowledge and thank Drs. Austriaco, Abellera, Kanchelra and the nursing staff of Medina General Hospital and Hospice of Medina County for their compassionate care, also Dr. Irwin Jennings and the Revs. Tal Lewis and Jim Patterson, whose support will always be remembered.

Albert D. Kramer
Albert D. Kramer, 81 of Seville, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital in Wadsworth.
He was born May 6, 1919, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Douwe and Susie (Kooistra) Kramer. He was self-employed since 1963 and retired in 1978. Mr. Kramer was a member of Seville United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening. He was an avid sports fan. Mr. Kramer served with the 4th Division Marine Corps. as a chief pharmacists mate.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (nee Wolf), whom he married on April 15, 1957; son, Norman (Pamela) Perrin of Seville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Hun (Art) Systma of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, 9560 Acme Road, Guilford Township. Pastor Phil Wilden will officiate.
Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
Visiting hours: two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Vickie R. Helton
Vickie Renee Helton, 35, of Painesville died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001.
She was born June 21, 1965, in Lodi and was a 1983 graduate of Norwayne High School in Creston. Ms. Helton was an Army veteran.
She is survived by her daughter, Kessiah of Lodi; mother, Shirley A. Schunn of Lodi; fathers, Herman C. Anderson of Colorado and Joseph Helton of Creston; and grandfather, John Anderson Sr. of Wadsworth.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Gladys Barnum.
Service: 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Church at the Lake United Methodist in Chippewa Lake.
Burial: 11 a.m. Friday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
Visiting hours: 7 to 9 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Church at the Lake in Chippewa Lake.

George W. Long
George W. Long, 91, of Wadsworth Township, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Akron General Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Long was born in Leroy and resided in Wadsworth Township since 1946. He was manager of the statistical department at Westfield Insurance Co., retiring in 1973 with 46 years of service. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Long served in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by his son, Gary of Wadsworth Township; and dear friend, Alice Buchanan of Wadsworth.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; brothers, Walter, Glenn and Judd; and sisters, Edith Jason and Mattie Tanner.
Service: 1 p.m. Friday at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Wadsworth.

Joseph A. Victor
Joseph A. Victor, 69, of Medina, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1931, in Cleveland and was a Medina resident for 35 years. Mr. Victor was a retired journeyman electrician at Local IBEW 38. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace and Medina Beekeepers Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and woodworking.
Mr. Victor is survived by his wife Joyce (nee Zaremba) of Medina, whom he married on Oct. 17, 1959; sons, Joseph F. (Julie) of Atlanta and Josh (Carolyn) of Northfield Center; daughter, Jodi (Jeffrey) of Wooster; brother, Ronald (Geraldine) of Berea; sister, Rita Farley of Wickliffe; and grandchildren, Caitlyn, Joshua, MaKenzie and Sydney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Victor and Anna (nee Stagalt).
Service: 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1088 Ridge Road, Hinckley Township. John T. McDonough will officiate.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City.
