Lois K. Simmerman
Lois K. Simmerman, 88, of Spencer, passed away Friday, April 20, 2001, at the Ohio Pythian Home in Medina, where she resided the past four years.
She was born on May 30, 1912, in Chatham Township to George and Blanche Robinson Zeigler, and lived in River Corners for 52 years. Mrs. Simmerman was a receptionist and clerk for Dr. Reutter in Medina. She later worked at the Medina County Health Department for 20 years before retiring in the mid 1970s. Mrs. Simmerman was a graduate of Spencer High School and a member of Spencer Pythian Sisters, Spencer Senior Citizens and Spencer United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Larry (Alice) Williamson of Wooster; sons, Sam (Beverly) Simmerman of Chicago, Ill., and Seth (Lisa) Simmerman of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Richard and Kristina Simmerman; and brother, Walter Zeigler of Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and sister, Doris Wicks.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Spencer. Rev. James Ellison of Spencer will officiate.
Visiting hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pythian Sisters Service at 6:45 p.m.

Steven A. Sprouse
Steven A. Sprouse, 14, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Steve was a freshman at Rittman High School and was active in sports. He especially loved football. He also was an active member of Ambassador Baptist Church in Wadsworth.
He is survived by his mother, Tonni Erb of Rittman; stepfather, Jay Erb of Rittman; brother, Tommy of Rittman; father, Thomas A. Sprouse of Medina; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Berger of Medina and Rose Sprouse of Niles. Steve will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John D. Sprouse.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Carlson, A Golden Rule Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road (state Route 18 at River Styx Road), Medina.

Elizabeth M. Danes
Elizabeth Marie Danes (nee Papuga), 91, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
She was born May 16, 1909, in Cleveland to Stanley and Maryjana (nee Kopec). Mrs. Danes retired from Richman Bros., where she worked for many years. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to do all kinds of handiwork, crafts and flower gardening. Her baking was legendary! Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren looked up to her as a role model and learned much from her. She will be missed very much, but will always be in our hearts.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Ronald A. (Judy) Danes of Medina; grandchildren, Nicolette (Kenneth) Barth, Danielle (Jeff) Clinton, Stephanie (Tom) Phillip, Ronald Jr. and Christopher Danes; great-grandchildren, Trisha and Alicia Barth, Suzanne and Kristina Clinton, and Isaiah and Jessica Castro; and sister, Rose Smrcina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Danes; her parents; and brothers, Melvin, Stanley and Chester Papuga.
Service: 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Golubski Funeral Home, 5986 Ridge Road, Parma.
Funeral Mass: 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Church.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery.

Steven F. Grey
Steven F. Grey, 52, of Medina, passed away Monday, April 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born in and was a lifetime resident of Medina County. Mr. Grey was a service director for Motor Cars Chrysler Jeep in North Olmsted.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl L. Grey (Doherty), and daughter, Laura C. Grey, both of Medina.

Charles Masters
Charles "Brian" Masters, 38, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 17, 2001, as a result of a car accident.
Brian put all his energy into endeavors, which involved his trust in God, his family, friends and work. Brian was employed as vice president of retail for Lighthouse Products, where he found admiration and satisfaction from many dear friends and coworkers. He brightened and strengthened all those he came in contact with. Brian was happiest when those he loved were safe and happy. He found comfort and joy in many dear close relatives. He will be truly missed by all.
He was a caring husband to his wife, Cathy; an encouraging father to Amanda and Mark; a loyal son to his mother, Elaine Wills Spencer and his father, Charles L. Masters; a loving brother to Bret Masters and Tamara Wills; and a devoted friend to countless others.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, state Route 1937, Catlettsburg, Ky.

Orin C. Crandall
Orin C. Crandall, 88, of Akron, passed away Monday, April 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 24, 1912, in Sanlick County, Mich., and was a lifetime resident of Medina County. Mr. Crandall was a member of Medina F&AM 58. He enjoyed dancing. He worked as a machinist at National Rubber and at Dolly Madison and A.I. Root Co.
Mr. Crandall is survived by his wife, Jaynee Crandall (nee Skaggs) of Akron and her daughter, Marsha Stewart of Lynchburg, Va.; sons, Roland (Elaine) Crandall and James (Sunday) Henderson, both of Medina; sister, Dorothy Pritchard of Medina; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Maria and Gracie, and sister, Marcella Davis.
Service: 11:30 a.m. today at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. The Rev. Jim Hostetler will officiate.

John P. Lichniak
John P. Lichniak, 85, has passed away.
He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II.
He was the dear father of Larry (Barb) and Lance (Gail); grandfather of Benjamin, Kyle and Chad; and dear brother of Dick and Vince.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lynn.
Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Craciun Funeral Home, 14925 E. Bagley Road (at Pearl Road), Middleburg Heights.
Interment: Eastlawn Memory Gardens.

Walter E. Church
Walter Earl Church, 54, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2001, in Brunswick.
He was born Dec. 5, 1946, in Ravenna and was a Brunswick resident since 1974. Mr. Church was employed as a factory worker with Empire Die Casting until 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shirley; daughters, Jennifer L. Church and Theresa A. Church; nephews, David S. Church, Walter K. Church and Daniel; nieces, Sarah J. Church and Christina; brothers, Bill and Edward; sisters, Sue, JoAnn and Gladis; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty, and brothers, Preston, J. Wallace and John.
Service: Noon on Thursday at Carlson, A Golden Rule Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road (one-half mile south of state Route 303), Brunswick. The Rev. Shannon Blower will officiate.
Interment: Crown Hill Cemetery.

Orin C. Crandall
Orin C. Crandall, 88, of Akron, passed away Monday, April 16, 2001, at his home.

Bradley C. Dick
Bradley C. Dick, 34, of Medina, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1966, in Wadsworth and was a lifetime Medina County resident. He was a graduate of Lima Diesel Technical School, where he received an honorary plumber's license. Mr. Dick was an auto mechanic and plumber. He was a devoted son, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Dick (nee Cutlip) of Medina; father, Delbert Dick of Seville; grandmothers, Olive Krieger of Wadsworth and Mabel Cutlip of Webster Springs, W.Va.; brothers, Billie Dick of Litchfield Township and Daniel Dick of Ashland; and nieces, Rebecca and Megan Dick.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney.
