Anna Nester
Anna M. Nester, 77, 702 Defiance St., Wapakoneta, died at 12:28 a.m. Jan. 16, 2001 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Daviess County, Ind., to Martin and Margaret (Brewer) Cosgrove. On Sept. 24, 1947, she married Ralph E. Nester, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Mary Sue and Joseph DeBortoli, Oak Harbor; a son and his wife, Donald and Cindi of Elida, and a son, Timothy of Wapakoneta; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a registered nurse, and served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, American Legion Post 121, Washington, Ind.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. William Eilerman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, with a Christian prayer service at 8 p.m.

Ruth Hemmelgarn
Ruth M. Hemmelgarn, 69, died at 12:18 a.m. Jan. 18, 2001 at her residence at 40 E. Star Road, North Star.
She was born March 6, 1931, in North Star, to Leo and Zita (Grilliot) Stammen. On March 22, 1952, she married Albert Hemmelgarn, who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Susan and Terry Householder, McCartyville, and Donna and Don Rutschilling, St. Rose; four sons and their wives, Dave and Deb, Chuck and Johna, Ken and Joyce, and Tim and Debbie, all of North Star; two sisters and their husbands, Mary Jean and Ernest "Slim" Wehrkamp, North Star, and Carol and Bernard Selhorst, Celina, and a sister, Joan Groff, North Star; two brothers and their wives, Robert and Loretta Stammen, and Thomas and Wilma Stammen, all of North Star; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, and American Legion Auxiliary, both of North Star.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. James Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, and 9 a.m. until time of services at the church Saturday.
Ed Pottkotter
Ed Pottkotter, 88, 415 E. Vine St., Coldwater, died Jan. 17, 2001 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Jan. 7, 1913, in Fort Recovery, to John and Irene (Laux) Pottkotter. On Sept. 14, 1940, he married Anna J. Schmitz, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Thomas and Pamela of Celina, and two sons, Kenneth and Terry, both of Coldwater; three daughters and their husbands, Virginia and Ronald Holstein, Fairfield, Constance and William Brandon Jr., Houston, Texas, and Mary Jane and Gary Wagner, Dayton; two brothers and their wives, William and Virginia, and Jerome and Rita, and a brother, Robert, all of Fort Recovery; two sisters, Mary Helen Romer, Coldwater, and Agnes Fischer, Celina; two sisters-in-law, Adeline and Marie, both of St. Henry, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Albert and Vincent, and a sister, Frances Hess.
He was retired from AVCO-New Idea, formerly in Coldwater, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, all of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Clarence Rosenbeck
Clarence B. Rosenbeck, 78, died at 7:40 p.m. Jan. 17, 2001 at his residence at 116 W. Walnut St., Coldwater.
He was born March 26, 1922, in Coldwater, to William and Rosa (Selhorst) Rosenbeck. On June 5, 1943, he married Rosemary LaLoge, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Bob and Elaine of Coldwater; a daughter and her husband, Robert and Kathleen "Kitty" Long-Depuy, Findlay; two brothers and their wives, Leonard and Esther, and Leo and Vicky, all of Coldwater; a sister and her husband, Mildred and Marcellus Hausfeld, Dayton; a brother-in-law, Alfred LaLoge, Montezuma; a sister-in-law, Estella of Dayton; eight grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Ferd and Albert, and two sisters, Veronica Hildeford and Pauline Gerlach.
He was retired from Fort Recovery Industries and formerly employed at Pax Inc., of Celina. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Men's Holy Name Society, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, both of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 1-1:45 p.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. The FOE will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Dr. W. Douglas Meyers
Word has been received of the death of Dr. W. Douglas Meyers, who was grandson of the late William and Ruth Meyers of Center Township.
He was born in St. Paris to William "Bud" and Vivian Meyers. His mother survives.
Other survivors include his wife, Kaaren, a daughter, Alison, a brother, Wade, a sister, Yvonne, a father-in-law, David Keller, and a brother-in-law, DuWayne Keller.
He practiced optometry in Loveland and was a graduate of Ohio State University College of Optometry.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Sugar Run Valley Baptist Church, Blanchester, the Revs. Michael Eckstein and Veryl McGuffey officiating. Burial is at Evergreen Cemetery in St. Paris.
Calling is one hour prior to services at the church.
Janet Knouff
Janet I. Knouff, 64, 9455 Ohio 197, Celina, died at 8:35 a.m. Jan. 18, 2001 at the Laurels of Shane Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rockford.
She was born July 3, 1936, in Miami County, to Archie M. and Grace E. (Cotrell) Rhynard. On Nov. 2, 1956, she married Johnnie L. Knouff, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Jerry L. and Cecelia of Celina, and Jon D. and Elaine of Anna, and two sons, Jay J. and Jason W., both of Celina; two daughters and their husbands, Jeannene K. and Tim Burnside, Piqua, and Jill L. and Mike Anthony, Botkins; and 11 grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother.
She was employed in the delicatessen department at Big Bear Supermarket, St. Marys, and was a graduate of Piqua Central High School.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, the Rev. James Wheeler officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
Calling is 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Richard Dee Hull
Word has been received of the death of Celina native Richard Dee Hull, 73, of Ashville, Ala.
He was a member of the Methodist church and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors are his wife, Delores Marie (Shadrack) Hull; a daughter, Margie Juanita Hull Hubert, Celina; three sons, Jeffery Guy, Hicksville, Jonnie Dean, Brian, and Richard Daniel, Ashville, Ala.; a sister, Jerry Bright, Findlay; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla, Ala.
