Ruth Schindler
Ruth E. Schindler, 89, 350 E. Elizabeth St., Coldwater, died at 10:45 a.m. March 14, 2001 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born Dec. 29, 1911, in Monette, to Charles and Charolette (Monette) Schmidt. On July 17, 1940, she married Ralph Schindler, who died June 29, 1999.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Robert and Julie of Toledo, and James and Judy of Sylvania; a daughter and her husband, Patricia and Edward Golda, Monroe, Conn.; a daughter, Elaine Frazier, Napa, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers and three sisters.
She was an employee of the former Schindler's Drug Store in Celina, and worked as a nurse at the former Gibbons Hospital, Celina, and St. Rita's Memorial Hospital, Lima. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its St. Anns Rosary Altar Sodality, Coldwater, and Mercer County Historical Society.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Emma Art
Emma Lee Art, 90, 1014 Clover Lane, Celina, died at 3:45 p.m. March 15, 2001 at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born June 11, 1910, in Celina, to George F. and Mary C. (Gast) Pulskamp. On July 19, 1932, she married Clarence P. Art, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Bernard C. and Jocelyn of New Bremen; a son, Kenneth E. of Celina; four daughters and their husbands, Rosemarie and Jerry Amato, Celina, Dorothy Lee and Jerry Backus, Delphos, Kathleen and Charles Gorsuch, Hendersonville, N.C., and Georgiann and William Nungester, Spencerville; a daughter, Patricia Hoyng, Celina; 23 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, its Altar Rosary Society and ladies choir, and Knights of St. John Auxiliary, also Celina. She was a 1928 graduate of the former Immaculate Conception High School.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Richard R. Riedel officiating. Burial is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.

Jeffrey Bigelow
Jeffrey James Bigelow, 43, 55 N. Hanover St., Minster, died of natural causes at 1:41 p.m. March 14, 2001.
He was born Feb. 23, 1958, in Springville, N.Y., to George and Carol (Washburn) Bigelow. His mother survives in Castile, N.Y. On May 12, 1984, he married Susan Jean Barnum, who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Emily and Megan, both at home; a son, Christopher, at home; a brother and his wife, Randy and Virginia of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister and her husband, Debbie and Greg McKurth, Fillmore, N.Y.; and a brother-in-law, Jim McMillan, Perry, N.Y.
Deceased is his father and a sister, Diane McMillan.
He was the embroidery manager at Holloway Sportswear in Jackson Center, and attended Only Believe Ministries in Botkins. He was a 1976 graduate of Letchworth Central High School, Gainesville, N.Y.
Services are 4 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Peter Doseck officiating. Burial is at Grace Cemetery, Castile, N.Y.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Emily Hunter
Emily Starr Hunter, 82, 1809 Kishler Drive, St. Marys, died at 10:29 a.m. March 15, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Auglaize County, to Ollie and Emma (Rhynard) Botkin. On July 13, 1940, she married Charles C. Hunter, who died Oct. 14, 1982.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Ron C. and Margaret A. of St. Marys, and Steve A. and Joyce of Grove City; a son, James C. of Bradford; a sister, Martha Axe, St. Marys; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was head cook for West Elementary School cafeteria, St. Marys, and was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, its Mothers Study Club and women's group, and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Guild 6, both of St. Marys. She was a 1936 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. David L. Woodyard officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
William Hunter Jr.
William Jackson "Bill" Hunter Jr., 45, 614 Hoying St., Celina, died of natural causes at 6:40 a.m. March 15, 2001 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Aug. 16, 1955, in Dayton, to William Jackson Sr. and Margaret (Lawson) Hunter. His mother and stepfather, Gene Feltner, survive in Celina.
Other survivors include a special friend, Becky Downey, Celina; three brothers and their wives, Robert E. and Karen of Celina; George E. and Mona of Dayton; and David L. and Linda of New Bremen; two sisters and their husbands, Patricia R. and Dale Ford, and Debra L. and Mike Dale, all of Celina.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Ellis Cemetery, Montezuma, the Rev. Doug Meyers officiating.
Calling is 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Ted Kolter
Memorial services for former Rockford resident Ted C. Kolter, 81, of Celina, will be held at 2 p.m. March 19 at Rockford Presbyterian Church in Rockford, the Rev. Karen Long officiating.
He died March 1 at Lake Placid Health Care Center in Lake Placid, Fla.
Calling is one hour prior to services at the church.

Ted C. Kolter
Services for Ted C. Kolter were held March 19 at Rockford Presbyterian Church, Rockford, the Rev. Karen Long officiating. Music was provided by Paula Linn and Tim Doane. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Joseph Hoening
Joseph Hoening, 68, 402 E. North St., Coldwater, died at 8:10 a.m. March 16, 2001 at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1932, in Coldwater, to Baltes and Lova (Thies) Hoening, both who are deceased. On Feb. 19, 1955, he married Ann Romer, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Scott and Tammy, Memphis, Tenn., and Shawn and April, Coldwater; two daughters and their husbands, Shelly and Scott Bullock, Coldwater, and Nancy and Bruce Boyd, Cincinnati; a daughter, Sandy, of Coldwater; three brothers, Jim, of Florida, John, of Texas, and Tom, of Fostoria; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Steve; and four brothers, Bill, Bob and infant twins.
He was formerly employed at Pax Steel Products Inc., Coldwater, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater and a member of the church's Holy Name Society.
Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
