Lucille Utz
Lucille E. Utz, 85, 807 Cecelia Drive, Coldwater, died at 4:24 a.m. March 30, 2003, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
She was born Dec. 2, 1917, in Greenville, to Orville and Clara James Enicks. On Sept. 10, 1949, she married Kenneth E. Utz who died Jan. 9, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Gary (Shirley) Duncan, Celina; a daughter, Patricia (Mike) Stucky, Coldwater; a brother, Franklyn Enicks, St. Marys; two sisters, Betty Munn, Trotwood, and Dorothy Heiser, Greenville; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Walter, Robert and Gene Enicks.
A homemaker, she was a member of Montezuma Church of Christ and a life member of the Greater Ohio Showmen's Association. She was also a member of Celina Senior Citizens.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Kevin Neumann officiating. Burial will follow at Burdge Cemetery in Montezuma.
Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.

LaMar Giere
LaMar F. Giere, 86, formerly of South First Street, Coldwater, died at 4:30 a.m. March 28, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born March 14, 1917, in Coldwater, to Edward and Olive Miehls Giere.
Surviving are two brothers, Oliver (Sara) and Earl (Gay), both of Coldwater; two sisters, Rita McDevitt, Coldwater, and Salome Peters, Delphi, Ind.; and three sisters-in-law, Betty Giere, Coldwater, Ruth Brown, Wapakoneta, and Joan Giere, Orlando, Fla.
Deceased are five brothers, Richard, Ralph, Norb, Fred and Ed, and a sister, Valeria Otte.
He retired from New Idea, Coldwater, and was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army in the African and European Theatres. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Council 1991, all of Coldwater, and the Mercer County Elks Club. He also was a charter member of Coldwater Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Ron Wilker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, with military rites by the VFW.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Jeffrey Naumann
Jeffrey P. Naumann, 30, 4974 Fort Recovery-Minster Road, St. Henry, died at 5:49 a.m. March 28, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, of complications following a March 6 traffic accident.
He was born July 9, 1972, in Mason City, Iowa, to Philip and Cheryl Monaghan Naumann. They survive in Coldwater. On July 3, 1998, he married Lisa M. Goewert who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kyle Jeffrey, and a daughter, Ellen Elizabeth, both at home; two sisters, Karen (Ken) Phillips, Canton, Mich., and Andrea (Todd) Hardwick, Baltimore, Md.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Virginia Goewert, St. Henry; and two brothers-in-law, Brian (Brenda) Goewert, St. Henry, and Gregg Goewert, Rockford.
He was assistant manager of purchasing at F & P American Manufacturing Inc., Troy. He was a 1991 graduate of Coldwater High School and a 1996 graduate of Bowling Green State University. He was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church, the Coldwater Knights of Columbus and the Dayton APICS Chapter.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:15 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Marjorie Rethman
Marjorie "Margie" R. Rethman, 63, Mercury Court, Sidney, died at 7:58 p.m. March 27, 2003, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, following a sudden illness.
She was born Nov. 30, 1939, in Shelby County, to August and Mary Herbert Barhorst. On Feb. 7, 1959, she married Edward J. Rethman who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Don (Julie) of Jackson Center; four daughters, Linda (Mike) Miller, Kettlersville, Brenda (Steve) Gilardi, Mount Vernon, Janet (Don) Livornese, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Amy (Ray) Lund, McLean, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
Other survivors include three brothers, Herbert (Chris) Barhorst, Russia, Joseph (Wilma) Barhorst, Coldwater, and Clarence Barhorst, Botkins; seven sisters, Clarissa Brinkman, Tempe, Ariz., Charline (Lavern) Schmit, Celina, Doris Bruggeman, Coldwater, Dolores (Werner) Bruggeman, Maria Stein, Marilyn (Ralph) Meyer, Coldwater, Emily (Jack) Subler, Versailles, and Martha (Dick) Subler, New Bremen; and a brother-in-law, Ivo Braun, Portland, Ind.
A sister is deceased.
She was a homemaker and had worked at several fast food restaurants in Sidney in recent years. She was a 1957 graduate of Anna High School and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, Wapakoneta.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Gerald Bensman officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, McCartyville.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 8:30-9 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.

Dolores Byrd
Dolores A. Byrd, 74, of Greenville, died at 10:50 p.m. March 26, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Rossburg, to Raymond E. and Elizabeth Couchot Liette. Husbands Robert Redinbaugh and John Byrd, are deceased.
Surviving are a son, Troy R. (Angie) Redinbaugh, New Lebanon; four daughters, Sharon K. (Ron) Harding, Sandy L. (John) Bell and Vicki L. Redinbaugh, all of Greenville, and Terri D. Redinbaugh, Economy, Ind.; two brothers, Lowell Liette, North Star, and Ralph Liette, Chickasaw; five sisters, Ruth Hiestand, Lightsville, Norma Rammel, Coldwater, Susie Gilliland, New Weston, Connie Winner, Osgood, and Judy Knight, Springfield, Va.; five grandchildren, a stepgrandson and two stepgreat-grandsons.
A sister, Helen Stout, is deceased.
She retired from Westinghouse Corp. and A.O. Smith.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Revs. Duane Smith and John White officiating. Burial will follow at Abbottsville Cemetery.

Irene Homan
Irene Homan, 85, Post Road, Coldwater died March 26, 2003, at Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, Fla.
She was born March 29, 1917, in Philothea, to August and Ethel Entrup Dues. On May 10, 1939, she married Paul Homan, who died March 17, 1997.
Surviving are four sons, Donald (Madonna) of Dayton, Kenneth (Esther), Daniel (Cathy) and Tim (Diane), all of Philothea; two daughters, Rita (Gene) Shrack, Brandon, Fla., and Mary Ann (Luke) Homan, Chickasaw; a brother, August (Millie) Dues, Philothea; a sister, Lou Ann Timmerman, Philothea; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A sister, Clara Hemmelgarn, and three grandchildren are deceased.
She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Christian Ladies Rosary Altar Sodality, both of Philothea, and a member of St. Cecilia Knights of St. John Auxiliary in Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Coletta Boeke
Coletta C. Boeke, 96, of Coldwater, died at 9:25 a.m. March 26, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 3, 1907, in Carthagena, to John H. and Amelia Dabbelt Boeke.
Surviving are a brother, Paul of Bartlesville, Okla.; a sister, Carrie Hoyng, Coldwater; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Boeke, Coldwater.
Two brothers, Werner and Raymond, and a sister, M. Magdaline, are deceased.
She had been employed in the Mercer County Chronicle office. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Ann Rosary Altar Sodality, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Community Hospital Auxiliary, all of Coldwater.
