Viola Davis
Viola C. Davis, 84, 6991 Ohio 219, Celina, died March 17, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Aug. 10, 1918, in St. Rose to Anthony F. and Margaret R. Gast Hartings. On Oct. 26, 1940, she married Walter Davis who died Jan. 2, 1986.
Survivors are two sons, Gerald, and Edward (Phyllis), both of Celina; two brothers, Andrew Hartings, Jasper, Ind., and Don Hartings, Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Rosalia Decker, St. Marys, Martha Sherman, New Bremen, and Julie Heyne, Dayton; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Jerome and Andrew Hartings.
She was a homemaker and member of Montezuma Church of Christ.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Don Ricard officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
William Dorfmeier
William D. Dorfmeier, 77, formerly of Montgomery County, died at 2:40 p.m. March 14, 2003, at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys.
He was born July 28, 1925, in Dayton, to Virgil Z. and Ruth M. Dean Dorfmeier. In June 1947, he married Maryhelen Roudebush who survives at Otterbein.
Other survivors are a son, Matthew of Englewood; three daughters, Suzanne (Thomas) Knopp, Vandalia, Diana (Christopher) Lindley, Marietta, Ga., and Wendy of Gahanna; a sister, Joan (Robert) Gager, Elmhurst, Ill.; five grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
He was a retired Dayton-area attorney who specialized in probate and family law. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. A graduate of Fairview High School, Dayton, and Ohio State University, Columbus, he was a member of Mount Olivet United Church of Christ, Dayton.
Services are 3:30 p.m. March 29 at the Campus Center at Otterbein, the Rev. David Woodyard officiating. Burial is at Dayton Memorial Park.
There are no calling hours.

Anna Post
Anna M. Post, 74, 504 E. Boundary St., Fort Recovery, died at 7:20 a.m. March 17, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born May 30, 1928, in Cassella to Aloys and Cleopha Boeke Schoenherr. On Nov. 27, 1954, she married William Post who died June 2, 2001.
Survivors are a son, Allen (Tammy) of Fort Recovery; two daughters, Diane and Geri, both of Montezuma; five brothers, Joseph (Joan) of Coldwater, Alvin of Marion, Ind., Vincent (Margie) of Fort Recovery, Roman (Roseann) of St. Paul, Minn., and Louis (Roberta) of Orem, Utah; three sisters, Imelda Heckman, Maria Stein, Irene Fullenkamp, Portland, Ind., and Rose Ann (Richard) Post, Celina; a son-in-law, Joe Bidlack, Celina; and three grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Theresa Bidlack; a brother, Victor; and a sister, Marita.
She was owner-operator of Ann's Beauty Shop and a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Sodality, all of Fort Recovery. She was a member of Catholic Knights of America, St. Joe, and Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary, both of Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Delores Speck
Delores B. Speck, 83, 242 E. Washington St., St. Henry, died at 5:57 p.m. March 17, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born June 18, 1919, in Sharpsburg to Frank and Bernadine Wourms Sutter. On Aug. 16, 1941, she married Raymond A. Speck who died June 28, 1985.
Survivors are four sons, Robert (Barbara) of Burbank, Ill., Ken (Janice) of St. Henry, Charles (Georgie) of Rossburg, and Roger (Brenda) of Wendelin; a daughter, Carol Eads, Jonesboro, Ind.; a son-in-law, Elmer Rinderle, St. Henry; two sisters, Mary Kemper, Dayton, and Marcella Stahl, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Lucille Sutter, Fort Recovery; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Ruth Rinderle; a son-in-law, Lyle Eads; six brothers, Raymond, Julius, Walter, Rueben, Edwin and Charles; three sisters, Catherine Neitzke, Ursula Leistenschneider and Martha Wirkner; and a grandchild.
She was a homemaker and worked at Hemmelgarn & Sons Inc., Philothea. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and a former member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Wendelin church, the Rev. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Eugene Cooper
Former Coldwater resident Eugene H. Cooper, 92, Columbia Drive, Waverly, died at 10:55 a.m. March 16, 2003, at Bristol Convalescent Center & Pavilion, Waverly.
He was born March 8, 1911, in Carroll, to Ulysses Grant and Ella Fairchild Cooper. On Dec. 4, 1947, he married Ruth E. Criss who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Barbara J. Briscoe, Menifee, Calif., and Ann C. (Paul) Oyer, Waverly; and five grandchildren.
He retired as a manufacture representative of the former Avco New Idea Farm Equipment Co. plant in Coldwater. He was a life member of Orient Lodge #321, Free & Accepted Masons, Valley of Columbus, Scottish Rite Aladdin Temple, and Pike County Shrine Club and United Commercial Travelers of Columbus.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, the Rev. Richard Hays officiating. Burial is at Waverly Evergreen Union Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mary Drake
Mary A. Drake, 89, formerly of 109 Washington St., Mendon, died at 10:30 a.m. March 14, 2003, at The Gardens at Celina.
She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Mercer County, to Earl O. and Chloe B. Andrews Poor. On April 11, 1937, she married Joseph B. Drake who died July 28, 1985.
Surviving is a son Joseph H. (Carolyn Ann), of Celina; a daughter, Marjorie A. (Larry W.) Fetters, of Celina; a brother, Robert (Becky) Poor, of Elwood Ind.; a sister, Miriam Poor, Silver Springs, Fla.; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Lowell, Russell, Donald and Byron Poor; an infant brother, Everett; seven sisters, Janice McCallister, Irene Duker, Emma Schierholdt, Anna C. Poor, Betty Lormor, Pauline Brookhart and an infant sister, Dorothy Clyde Poor; and a grandson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mendon Church of God.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Bruce Strine officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruth Orr
Ruth V. Orr, 78, 205 W. South St., St. Marys, died at 7:19 a.m. March 16, 2003, in the emergency room of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following a sudden illness.
She was born March 19, 1924, in Wapakoneta, to John and Jessie Willey Zwiebel. On Dec. 16, 1950, she married Arthur Orr who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Gary (Deb) of St. Marys; a daughter, Connie (Paul) Hofmann, Chelmsford, Mass.; and four grandchildren.
She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Mays, after more than 30 years, and attended Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys. She was a 1942 graduate of the former Blume High School, Wapakoneta.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Herb Berry officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
