Linus Miller
Burkettsville native Linus W. Miller, 85, of Kettering, died at 12:25 a.m. March 10, 2003, at the Veterans Administration (Hospice) of Dayton.
His wife, Bernadine Miller, survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Paul, David and Thomas, all of Dayton; two daughters, Bonnie and Mary Miller Ellis, both of Dayton; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the American Legion, both of North Star. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Dayton.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. David Zink and Louis Barga officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, and 9-10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church. Military services will be conducted by the North Star American Legion post.
Joan Overley
Joan A. Overley, 71, formerly of 115 S. Vine St., St. Marys, died at 8 a.m. March 10, 2003, at her son's home near Sidney.
She was born June 26, 1931, in Mercer County, to Leander and Mary Lechleiter Tangeman. On Aug. 5, 1950, she married William Overley who died June 8, 1999.
Survivors are two sons, Edward (Sherry) of Sidney, and Martin of St. Marys; and a brother, Norbert (Shirley) Tangeman, Chickasaw.
She was retired from Brookside Laboratories, New Knox-ville, where she worked as a technician. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David A. Heinl officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Ada Anselman
Ada M. Anselman, 90, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Community Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1912, in St. Marys, to Charles and Margaret (Hill) Colvin. On June 26, 1932 she married Vernon Anselman who died in 1967.
Survivors are a son Jean (Pat) Anselman of Celina; a daughter, Dianne (Michael) Donovan of Port Orchard, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Helen Colvin of St. Marys; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Robert Willard; and five sisters: Ethel, Gladys, Lucy Mildred, Mary Jane and Lydia May.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. She was active in several card clubs.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home, the Rev. Douglas R. Meyer officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church Liberty Township Cemetery.
Calling in 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Henry Bowman
Henry M. "Mike" Bowman, 91, 109 Garman Ave., died at 2:01 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, at Celina Manor.
He was born Oct. 29, 1911 in Wildwood, N.J., to John A. and Margaret Schmitt Bowman. He married Florence Ferrari on Nov. 4, 1941, and she died April 30, 1951. He married Bertha Jacobs on Oct. 9, 1954, and she survives.
Other survivors are a son, Dr. Michael Bowman of Madison, Wis.; two daughters, Angela Torres of Yucca Valley, Calif. and Suzanne Schidler of Monterey, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maddeline Bowman Smith; four brothers; and one sister.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception church and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and the U. S. Army.
He was a retired baker having worked at several places including Pantry Pride.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev., Richard Riedel officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina with graveside military honors.

Sylvester Eischen
Sylvester P. Eischen, 88, 8302 Indiana-Ohio State Line Road, Fort Recovery, died at 3:30 p.m. March 8, 2003, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Bryant, Ind., to Peter and Veronica Klaus Eischen. On Nov. 28, 1935, he married Mildred Schmit who died Nov. 13, 1994.
Survivors are two sons, James (Barbara) of Hawesville, Ky., and Orville (Carol) of Celina; three daughters, Janet Privett, Portland, Ind., Susan (Gary) Jones, Geneva, Ind., and Phyllis Gibson, St. Marys; three sisters, Beatrice Schmit, Geneva, Ind., and Catherine Hartnagel and Vita Weitzel, both of Fort Recovery; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, David; four brothers, Joseph, Arthur, John and Edward; four sisters, Elizabeth Homan, Matilda Schwoerer, Mary Koening and Cecelia Eischen.
He was a retired farmer and employee of Central Soya, Decatur, Ind. He was a member of St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church, Geneva. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Portland, Ind., the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Coldwater, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Philip DeVorder officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.

Wallace Kuck
Wallace "Wally" Kuck, 79, 08840 Ohio 219, New Knoxville, died at 9:20 p.m. March 7, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following a brief illness.
He was born July 27, 1923, in Allen County, to Walter and Francis Kruse Kuck. He married Marian Kuck who survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Gary (Luanne), Gene (Jane) and Steve (Kay), all of New Knoxville; two daughters, Sandy (Roger) Hoelscher, New Knoxville, and Jackie (Wayne) Ruff, Sidney Center, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was a retired dairy farmer and the Ohio Territory Manager for Clay Equipment Corporation. A 1941 graduate of New Knoxville High School and a 1947 graduate of Ohio State University, he was a member of First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, where he served as an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher and congregation president. He also attended Christian Fellowship adult Sunday school class. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and member and past commander of American Legion post 444, New Knoxville.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in the Heritage Room of the church.

Naomi Benanzer
Naomi Benanzer, 83, 7682 Cecil Road, Sidney, died at 3:25 p.m. March 7, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Russia, to Albert and Florence Delaet Glynn. On Aug. 20, 1941, she married Paul M. Benanzer, who died June 7, 1993.
Survivors are two sons, Leroy (Linda) of Fort Loramie and Joe (Pam) of Sidney; six daughters, Mary (Rich) Berning and Ruth (Ed) Schulze, all of Newport, Agnes (John) Fisher, Wapakoneta, Rose (Bill) Muhlenkamp, Tipp City, Judy (Victor) Schulze, McCartyville, and Louise (Rex) Frey, Fort Loramie; two sisters, Julia Billenstein, Brock, and Rose Mary (Paul) Cordonnier, Russia; 28 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Anne Rosary and Alter Sodality and The American Legion, all in Fort Loramie.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
