Wilfred Riethman
Wilfred G. Riethman, 76, 2B Green Hill Drive, Minster, died at 3:45 a.m. April 25, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Minster, to Frank and Elenora (Baumer) Riethman. On June 22, 1946, he married Mary C. Riethman who survives.
Other survivors are four sons and their wives, Ronald and Eileen, and Donald and Kendra, all of Minster, Bill and Nancy of New Bremen, and Frederick and Nance of Coldwater; four daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Steve Bradford, Columbus, Patricia and Henry Barhorst, Fort Loramie, Karen and Paul Frey and Chris and Harold Long, all of New Bremen; a brother, Edwin of Minster; a sister, Rosemary Albers, New Bremen; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters.
He was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391 and Cataract Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. William Hoyng officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Raymond Stachler
Raymond Stachler, 94, St. Henry, died at 6:45 p.m. April 24, 2001 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born March 24, 1907, in Wendelin, to Henry and Bernadine (Post) Stachler. On May 7, 1930, he married Frances Brunswick who died Aug. 8, 1988.
Survivors are five sons and their wives, Roger and Marjorie and Homer and Judy, all of St. Henry, Sylvan and Kay of Union, S.C., Myron and Minnie of Chickasaw, and Orville and Carolyn of Lakeview, and a son, Kenneth of Lakeview; four daughters and their husbands, Charlene and Richard Garman, Dayton, Linda and Larry Ketter, Shailimar, Fla., Lucy and Paul Leffler, Covington, Ky., and Nancy and Dennis Detamore, Algonquin, Ill., and a daughter Sharon of Prescott, Ariz.; a brother, Greg of Wendelin; two sisters, Clementine Schmackers, St. Henry, and Leona Schwieterman, Celina; 30 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Ed and Clarence, and two great-grandchildren.
He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Cranberry Prairie, and its Men's Society.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Evelyn Weller
Former Rockford resident Evelyn B. Weller, 86, died Dec. 30, 2000, in Crawfordsville, Ind.
She was born July 14, 1914, in Camden, N.J. She married Carl Weller who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Fred and Rebecca of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three grandsons.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Verna Cook
Mercer County native Verna W. "Janie" Cook, 88, of Lawrenceville, Ga., died April 25, 2001.
She was born May 9, 1912, in Mercer County, to Monalcus Gail and Ada Mabel (Yocum) Watts. She was married to Paul A. Cook, who is deceased.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Jack and Dorothy of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Gary and Sue of Hilliard; a sister, Eunice Krumlauf, Columbus; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two grandchildren.
She was a public school cafeteria manager.
Memorial services are 11:30 a.m. June 2 at Mendon-Union Cemetery.
Rev. Rocco Cosentino
Rev. Rocco Cosentino, 73, of St. Charles Center, Carthagena, died April 25, 2001 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born July 7, 1927, in Niles, to James and Angeline (DiEramo) Cosentino.
Survivors include a sister, Carmella Cosentino Reed, Niles.
Deceased are two brothers, James and Philip, and a sister, Geraldine Cosentino McGhee.
He entered the Missionaries of the Precious Blood at Brunnerdale High School Seminary in Canton in 1941, was professed in 1948, and ordained to the priesthood in 1954 at St. Charles Center. He served in Piqua and Columbus as an associate pastor, and was later transferred to Chile, South America. He returned to America, and served in Indiana, California, Virginia and Ohio.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, the Provincial Director of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, the Very Rev. Angelo Anthony, C.PP.S., officiating. Burial will follow in the center's cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles Center, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Forest Davis
Former Mendon resident Forest H. Davis, 86, of Celina Manor Nursing Home, died at 7:50 p.m. April 26, 2001 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born April 11, 1915, in Mercer County, to Joseph H. and Sarah D. (Sawmiller) Davis. On July 8, 1936, he married Bessie M. Raymond, who died Sept. 10, 1982.
Survivors are a son, Harold O. of Benzonia, Mich.; three daughters and their husbands, Renda and Neal Shellito, Elkhart, Ind., JoAnn and Roger Freeman, New Bremen, and Marlene and Carl Marsee, Celina; two brothers-in-law, James Mullen, St. Marys, and Norbert Huber, Celina; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Gertrude and Frank McMullen, St. Marys, and Barbara and John Gottschalk, Kettering, and five sisters-in-law, Mary Davis, Port Clinton, Waneta Davis, Decatur, Ind., Nora Davis, Celina, and Carol and Ruth Raymond, both of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are a sister, Edith Martin Denny, four brothers, Floyd, Levi, Wilbur and Ivan Sr., a grandson and a great-grandson.
He was a retired farmer and was self-employed. He was a life member of the Mercer County Sportsman's Association.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hilda Dusten
Hilda R. Dusten, 73, 611 S. Main St., Rockford, died at 3:05 p.m. April 25, 2001 at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford.
She was born June 9, 1927, in Saltville, Va., to William Louthen. She married Charles Dusten, who is now deceased.
Survivors are three sons, Thomas Hahn, New Castle, Pa., Ken Hahn, Phoenix, Ariz., and William Hahn, Erie, Pa.; a daughter, Linda Jaworski, Erie, Pa.; a brother, Noel Louthen, Saltville, Va.; four sisters, June Doblow, Billie Long and Salona Gibson, all of Kent, and Thelma Powell, Sebring, Fla.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
She was a former waitress.
There will be no services or visitation.

Wilbur Grossnickle
Wilbur Grossnickle, 91, of Rockford, died at 12:22 p.m. April 26, 2001 at Van Crest Nursing Home, Van Wert.
He was born Nov. 23, 1909, in Hopewell Township, Mercer County, to George and Effie (Scherer) Grossnickle. On April 16, 1933, he married Myrtle Smith, who died Oct. 26, 1987.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Robert and Connie of Van Wert; two daughters and their husbands, Dorothy Ann and Donnie Springer, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Betty and Earnest Felver, Rockford; six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Herman, a sister, Mabel Crider, and a grandson.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Mount Tabor Church of God, Celina.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Revs. Rick Mason and Richard VanHorn officiating. Burial is at Otterbein Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
