Former New Bremen resident Alice O. Tangeman, 86, 10 B Defiance Commons, Wapakoneta, died at 10:33 p.m. April 25, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 29, 1914, in Auglaize County, to John and Gladys (Cochlin) Yinger. On Nov. 23, 1932, she married Carl Tangeman, who died Jan. 21, 1984.
Survivors are two brothers and their wives, Roland and Lois Yinger, Wapakoneta, and Billy and Martha Yinger, Sidney; a sister and her husband, Twilah and Al Eubanks, Urbana, and a sister, Geraldine Meyer, Van Wert; two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, David.
She was retired from Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, and was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Bremen, and the New Bremen Historical Society.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Lawrence Martin
Lawrence "Larry" Martin, 52, 14256 River Road, St. Marys, died of natural causes at 12:33 a.m. April 27, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born April 25, 1949, in St. Marys, to Jack and Marge (Miller) Martin. His mother survives in St. Marys.
Survivors are a daughter, Anna Marie, St. Marys; a son and his wife, John and Lori, St. Marys; and two sisters, Connie, St. Marys, and Molly, Dublin, and a granddaughter.
Deceased are his father, a brother, John, and a sister, Sheryl Perry.
He was a 1967 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, and was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial follows at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Jeanette Ruhenkamp
Jeanette C. Ruhenkamp, 78, 117 Park St., Fort Loramie, died at 12:38 a.m. April 27, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She had been a resident at Heritage Manor, Minster.
She was born March 13, 1923, in Fort Loramie, to Bernard and Rose (Winner) Ruhenkamp.
Survivors are a sister and her husband, Anna Marie and Walter Sturm, Sidney; and a sister, Hilda Lachey, Centerville.
Deceased are a brother and sister.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, the church's St. Ann Rosary, Altar Sodality and Apostleship of Prayer of Church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Rev. Marion Hanover
Rev. Marion L. Hanover, 72, 11409 Cardinal Lane, St. Marys, died at 12:52 a.m. April 29, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Bucyrus, to James William and Mary (Lamb) Hanover. On Dec. 19, 1948, he married Margaret Walton, who survives.
Other survivors are four sons and their wives, Mark and Donna of Van Wert, Thomas and Cathy of Athens, Timothy and Cynthia of St. Marys, and Michael and Nancy of Troy; a foster daughter and her husband, Christina and Mark Basinger, Ottawa; his twin sister, Marilyn Chivington, Fletcher; a foster sister, Betty Parcher, Nevada, OH; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a half-brother, Robert, and a half-sister, Mildred.
He was granted a conference license in the United Brethren Church and was ordained an Elder of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Ohio in 1956. He served in churches near Lima, Bryan, South Liberty, East Findlay, Bridgewater, Van Wert, Walnut Grove, and served as part-time visitation pastor for Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, after his retirement. He was a graduate of a school in Sycamore and of Bluffton College. He earned a Bachelor of Ministry and Master of Ministry from Winebrenner Seminary in Findlay.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, the Rev. David Woodyard and Lima District Superintendent Rev. Phillip Brooks officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Melvin Medler
Melvin Leon Medler, 81, died April 27, 2001 at University Nursing Home, Upland, Ind., where he was a resident.
He was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Marion, Ind., to Clancy and Rebecca (Brown) Medler. On Feb. 9, 1980, he married Eva (Hathaway) Martin, who died Feb. 2, 2000.
Survivors are a son, Andy of Montpelier, Ind.; two stepsons and their wives, Paul and Helen Martin, and David and Linda Martin, all of Portland, Ind.; a daughter, Rebecca of Montpelier, Ind.; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Eva Lou and Jerry Drieling, Celina, Cheryl and William C. Myers, and Mary Elaine and Wayne Brotherton, all of Portland, Ind.; a brother, John of Muncie, Ind.; a sister, Ellen Jane Dubois, Hartford City, Ind.; five grandchildren, 25 stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 52 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was a retired diesel mechanic and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 211, Disabled American Veterans and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, all of Portland, Ind.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday (Indiana time) at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, Ind., the Rev. Ester Kershaw officiating. Burial is at Antioch Cemetery south of Portland.

Frances Stump
Former Fort Recovery resident Frances E. Stump, 87, died at 4:20 p.m. April 27, 2001 at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville.
She was born March 3, 1914, in Greenville, to Harry and Etta (Lower) Best. On July 29, 1940, she married Woodrow Stump, who died April 25, 1991.
Survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Mary and James Brown, Fort Recovery, and Carol and James Bates, Rockville, Md.; a son and his wife, Nolan and Jill of Fort Recovery; a sister and her husband, Georgana and Robert Sharp, Greenville; six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother Herbert.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Grady Livingston officiating. Burial is at Sunset Memory Gardens, Greenville.

Hilda Tumbusch
Former Cassella resident Hilda Tumbusch, 97, died today at Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster.
She was born May 24, 1903, in Cassella, to Frank and Elizabeth (Koesters) Reichert. On Oct. 16, 1929, she married Adolph H. Tumbusch, who died May 16, 1966.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Virginia "Ginny" and Joseph Baumer, Minster; a brother, Cletus Reichert, Dayton; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers and two sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and its Ladies Sodality, and CK of A, both of Cassella.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Frederick Ryder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
