Joyce Doctorman
Joyce Doctorman, 68, 808 Pro Drive, Celina, died at 1:45 p.m. May 7, 2001 at Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born July 22, 1932, in Wilmington, to Harry and Daisy (Fields) Elliott. She married Virgil Doctorman who is deceased.
Survivors are a daughter, Debbie Gillum, Sandy Hook, Ky.; two sisters, Wanda Myers, Celina, and Deloris Holman, Covington; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.

Grace Hobler
Grace Margaret Hobler, 91, of Moulton, died at 1:05 p.m. May 7, 2001 at Auglaize Acres, Wapakoneta.
She was born March 9, 1910, in Fryburg, to Ben and Katherine (Kupper) Line. On June 25, 1929, she married Harold Hobler who died Jan. 4, 1970.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Ned and Dorothy of Moulton; a daughter, Doris Ann McConnell, Moulton; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Olga Sheipline, and a son-in-law, J. Robert McConnell.
She was a homemaker and worked for the former D.W.G. Cigar Co., Wapakoneta, and in the dietary department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Moulton, and Wapakoneta Senior Citizens. She attended the former Blume High School, Wapakoneta.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Kieran P. Darcy officiating. Burial is at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Calling is 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the Fraternal Order of Police Shop With a Cop Fund.

Mary Jo Kirby
Mary Jo Kirby, 66, 218 S. Ash St., St. Marys, died at 12:05 p.m. May 8, 2001, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Cincinnati, to David and Albertine (Pauck) Kuenzel. Her mother survives in St. Marys.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Rev. John and Sarah of St. James City, Fla., and Dan and Debra of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Rev. David Schunk, Bloomington, Ind.; a brother, John Kuenzel, Arlington, Texas; and three grandchildren.
She was a retired teacher and current tutor with St. Marys City Schools and a member of Auglaize County Retired Teachers Association and Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Marys, St. Marys Sen-ior Citizens, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and was active in Reach To Recovery. She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, Ohio State University, Columbus, and received her master's degree from Wright State University, Dayton.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Revs. Keith Kivlin, David Schunk and John Kirby officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Contributions can be made to the church.

Andrew Myers
Andrew G. Myers, 87, formerly of 205 E. Koch St., Ohio City, died at 5 a.m. May 8, 2001 at Convoy Care Center.
He was born Dec. 27, 1913, to Ray and Ethel (Stemen) Myers. On Dec. 8, 1935, he married Freda Jane Mongold who died Aug. 18, 1995.
Survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Bertha Jane and Dale Pummell, Celina, and Helen Joann and David Elzey, Convoy; two brothers and their wives, Roux and Janice of Fostoria, and Don and Sue of St. Marys, and a brother, Vernon of Van Wert; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Douglas J., a daughter, Sharon Elizabeth, two brothers, Orville and Dwight, a sister, Grace Fought, and an infant sister.
He was retired from Glenmore Farmers Grain, Willshire, and was a member of Antioch Chapel Friends Church, Van Wert. He was a graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Jim Robbins officiating. Burial is at Ridge Cemetery, Ridge Township.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to Convoy Care Center Activity Fund or Ohio City EMS.

Gordon Raymond
Former Celina resident Gordon Henry Raymond, 87, of Englewood, Colo., died May 3, 2001 in Denver, Colo.
He was born June 10, 1913, in Canada, to Joe and Nellie (Bouvey). He married Mildred Oliver who survives.
Other survivors are three sons and their wives, Gordon Jr. and Miriam and Michael and Tina, all of Denver, Colo., and Tim and Sheri of Coldwater, and a son, Adrian of New York, N.Y.; two daughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Bruce Mannin, Russia, and Patricia and James Eyink, Coldwater; a brother and his wife, Wilford and Betty Ray, Virginia; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was a retired salesman and manager for Investors Diversified Securities of Celina. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Life Source Hospice of Denver.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo.
Calling is 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday at Horan and McConaty Funeral Service, Denver, Colo.

Wilbur Schmiesing
Wilbur B. Schmiesing, 85, 7050 Amsterdam Road, Anna, died at 12:20 p.m. May 8, 2001 at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Egypt, to Louis and Elizabeth (Timmerman) Schmiesing. He married Ann A. Prenger who died Jan. 9, 1978. On Jan. 6, 1990, he married Betty Johannsen.
Other survivors are three sons and their wives, Marvin and Judy, Larry and Janice, and Tim and MarNell, all of Anna; a daughter and her husband, Judy and Mike Cechvala, Anna, and a daughter, Lois Drees, Versailles; a stepson and his wife, William and Barbara Rodenhauser, Napoleon; a stepdaughter and her husband, Mary and David Donnelly, McClure; a brother and his wife, Melvin and Pauline of Minster; two sisters and their husbands, Alvera and Arnold Boeke, Dayton, and Delores and Oley VanWinkle, Winter Park, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Irene of Minster; 21 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Romilda Reigelsperger, a brother, Eugene, two sons-in-law, Michael Marshall and Paul Drees and two grandchildren.
He was a farmer and a member of Sacred heart Church, McCartyville. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391, Minster.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Patrick Duffy officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to Darke-Mercer Hospice and St. Peters Neurological Center.

Joseph Borchers
Joseph B. Borchers, 88, 44 S. Main St., Fort Loramie, died at 1 a.m. May 9, 2001 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
He was born June 11, 1912, in Fort Loramie, to William J. and Magdalina (Seiters) Borchers. On May 3, 1939, he married Mary E. Ritter who died Dec. 16, 1998.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Robert and Jennifer of Worthington, and Ted and Kay of Fort Loramie; a daughter and her husband, Judith and Richard Beck, Fairborn; a brother, Carl of Winter Springs, Fla.; a sister, Victoria Albers, Fort Loramie; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers.
He was former owner and operator of Borchers Store, Fort Loramie, and former district manager of distribution for the Dayton Daily News. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. He served as councilman for the Fort Loramie village council, was a village council clerk-treasurer and a Boy Scout Troop 355 instructor. He was a member Kiwanis, the Knights of Columbus, Minster, the Shelby County AAA and the Dorothy Love board of directors. He was a graduate of Minster High School and Miami Jacobs College of Business Administration.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to Fort Loramie Rescue Squad.

Pauline Brookhart
Pauline Brookhart, 84, 210 Dogwood Drive, Celina, died at 5:20 a.m. May 9, 2001 at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 24, 1916, in Mercer County, to Earl O. and Chloe B. (Andrews) Poor. On May 20, 1939, she married Vincent V. Brookhart who died Feb. 16, 1997.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Terry and Pat of Celina, Randy and Beth of Wapakoneta, and a son, Victor of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Sondra and Dale Hesse, Dunkirk; a brother and his wife, Robert and Becky Poor, Elwood, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Drake, Celina, and Anna and Miriam Poor, both of Silver Springs, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Linda Poor, Celina; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Lowell, Russell, Byron and Donald, and four sisters, Irene, Betty, Janice and Emma.
She was a homemaker and attended Bethany United Methodist Church, Celina, and First Church of God, Mendon.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany United Methodist Church, Celina, the Rev. Dr. James C. Wilson II officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the church or Celina Area Visiting Nurses.

Gerald Gibson
Gerald Allen "Hooter" Gibson, 50, 03145 Clover Four Road, New Bremen, died at 9:35 p.m. May 10, 2001 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 24, 1950, in Lima, to Gerald and Genevieve (Little) Gibson who are deceased. On May 19, 1979, he married Deborah Wehmeyer, who survives.
Other survivors are a sister, Connie of St. Marys; a mother- and father-in-law, Leon and Floribel Wehmeyer, New Bremen; and a brother-in-law, Gary Wehmeyer, St. Marys.
He retired as a truck driver for the former Dairy Farm Products, New Bremen, and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen. He was an adviser for Moulton Lucky Livestock 4-H Club and a member of Traveling Wheels Camping Club. He was a St. Marys Memorial High School graduate.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Revs. John Tostrick and Jeanne Spoor officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to Tri-County Visiting Nurses.

Shirley McCabe
Shirley Joe "Shorty" McCabe, 64, of Panama City, Fla., died May 9, 2001 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Darke County, to Shirley B. and Florence M. (Krick) McCabe. In 1978, he married Virginia, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Jason T. Schiefer of Florida; six sisters, Dorothy O'Brien, Celina, Emma Thomas, Alabaster, Ala., Josephine Gabbard, New Madison, Sharron Michael, Barstow, Calif., Karron Hoskins, New Madison, and Becky French, Greenwood, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Sam.
He was retired as an electrician at Tyndall Air Force Base. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Panama City, Fla., and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Storch-Braund Funeral Home, New Madison, the Rev. Jess McCabe officiating. Burial is at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Jefferson, with full military graveside services conducted by the Darke County Veterans Honor Guard.
Calling is 3-5 p.m. Sunday and prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made in the form of blood donations at any chosen location.
