Rev. Charles Banet
The Rev. Charles H. Banet, 80, a member of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, died June 22, 2003, at the Holy Rosary Rectory in Galveston, Texas.
He was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Henry and Marie Henry Banet.
Surviving are a brother, the Rev. Paul of Galveston, and two sisters, Sister Laura of Fort Wayne and Victorine (Jim) Malsbury, Opa Locka, Fla.
Deceased are a brother, Lawrence, and two sisters, Mary Ellen Harris and Sister Ruth.
He entered the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1937 and was ordained March 25, 1949, at St. Charles Seminary, Carthagena.
Banet served 28 years as president of St. Joseph College, Rensselaer, Ind., and was one of the founding members of the Precious Blood Institute. He retired in July 1993 and moved to Galveston where he served with his brother as a parish priest at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass was held today at the Galveston parish with a memorial Mass scheduled at 7 p.m. (CST) Thursday at St. Joseph College. A third funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Center, Carthagena. Burial will follow the Friday service in Community cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph College Chapel and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at St. Charles.

Suzann Gilliland
M. Suzann "Susie" Gilliland, 66, 400 Webster St., New Weston, died in the morning of June 24, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Darke County, to Raymond and Elizabeth Couchot Liette. Her husband, Charles Gilliland Jr., survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Karen and Diana Christian, both of Celina, Charlotte (Howard) Brutsch, Sumter, S.C., and Mary (John) Hill, Dunkirk, Ind.; two brothers, Lowell Liette, North Star, and Ralph Liette, Chickasaw; four sisters, Ruth Hiestand, New Weston, Norma Rammel, Coldwater, Connie Winner, Osgood, and Judy Knight, Springfield, Va.; five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Two sisters, Helen Stout and Delores Byrd, are deceased.
She retired from Huffy Inc. of Celina after 42 years and continued to work as a clerk at Birt's Store in New Weston. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, New Weston Village Council, Ansonia Rescue Squad and the Sunshine Club.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Oliver Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Matthew Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a prayer service beginning at 5 p.m.

Harold Livingston
Harold George Livingston, 63, 207 N. Seventh St., Coldwater, died at 12:43 p.m. June 24, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 10, 1940, in Celina, to Sylvester and Fanny Bailey Livingston. On May 25, 1963, he married Doris Post who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ken (Sharon) of Greenville and Rick (Amy) of Celina; two daughters, Theresa (Rashad) Najmi, Lorain, and Pam (Bob) Wilder, Coldwater; three brothers, Tom (Myrna) of Union City, Ind., Jim (Shirley) of Coldwater and Don (Joyce) of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Paul Weigel, Coldwater; and nine grandchildren.
A sister, Wanda Weigel, and a grandchild are deceased.
He formerly worked at New Idea, Coldwater, and owned Brucken's Cafe in Fort Loramie. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a past officer of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, both of Coldwater, and a former member of the Coldwater Emergency Medical Services squad.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.

Ruby Price
Ruby M. Price, 78, of Rockford, died at 10:50 a.m. June 24, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Mercer County, to Dessie G. Steele and Loren E. Harner. On Dec. 8, 1951, she married Charles W. Price who died Feb. 26, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Brent) Whitaker, Willshire, and Nancy Ridenour, Clarksville, Tenn.; two sisters, Esther Snyder, Celina, and Jean Christian, Mendon; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She retired as a cook from Parkway Local Schools after 29 years of service and attended The Lord's Church, Celina.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, with the Revs. Randy Christian and Carol McKay officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

John Eversole Jr.
John Calvin Eversole Jr., 71, 792 Gordon Grove, St. Marys, died at 1:33 p.m. June 23, 2003, at the home of a daughter.
He was born July 12, 1931, in Oakley, Ky., to John Sr. and Edith McWhorter Eversole.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda and Laura Eversole Bayman, both of St. Marys, and Leslie of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Theodore of England; and four grandchildren.
He was the owner of the Ohio Bar in Wapakoneta and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, Wapakoneta, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767, both of St. Marys, Loyal Order of the Moose 1610, Port Clinton, and American Legion Post 444, New Knoxville.
Graveside services are noon Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Ky.

Mary Ann Pax
Mary Ann Pax, 94, formerly of 5221 Ohio 29 West, Celina, died at 6:50 p.m. June 22, 2003, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born May 12, 1909, in St. Anthony, to John and Elizabeth Post Homan. On May 7, 1949, she married Albert Pax who died Nov. 3, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Arnold of Celina and Alan of Geneva, Ind.; three sisters, Josephine Heitkamp, Madonna Kremer and Barbara Kremer, all of New Bremen; and a brother-in-law, Cletus Homan, Coldwater.
Deceased are five brothers, Raymond, Sylvester, Ferdinand, Aloys and John Homan, and three sisters, Regina Rauh, Bernadine Diller and Viola Homan.
She was a homemaker who had worked at Delco and NCR in Dayton prior to her marriage. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar-Rosary Society, both of Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard R. Riedel officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.

Jacob Beyke
Jacob J. Beyke, 92, Washington Street, Burkettsville, died at 12:18 p.m. June 22, 2003 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 19, 1910 in Burkettsville to Henry and Walburga (Rohrer) Beyke. On June 19, 1937, he married the former Mary Goubeaux at St. Marys Church in Greenville and she survives.
Also surviving are seven sons: John, Egypt, Raymond (Betty), Greenville, Jerry (Judy) and Tom (Esther), all of St. Henry, Daniel (Deborah), St. Sebastian, Jay (Ann), Chickasaw, Mark (Ruth) Fort Recovery; three daughters: Mary Jo (Tom) Jansen, Dayton, Betty (James) Garke and Jane Beyke, Burkettsville; two brothers: Clete (Wilma), Cranberry Prairie, Henry (Patricia), Franklin; one sister, Mildred Wendel, Coldwater; one sister-in-law, Katie Beyke, Celina; 39 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Mary; three brothers, Barney, Lee and Albert; a sister-in-law, Rose; and two grandchildren.
He was retired from Midmark in Minster. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic church, Burkettsville, Catholic Knights of America, St. Joseph, and the Men's Sodality of St. Francis.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard, the Rev. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Cranberry Prairie.

Ada Rockwell
Ada E. Rockwell, 82, formerly of New Bremen and a resident of Windsor Manor Healthcare of Indianapolis, died at 1:50 a.m. June 22, 2003 at the health care facility.
She was born July 11, 1920 in St. Paris to Clifford and Alta (Blackford) Shaffner. On Nov. 21, 1943, she married Roy Rockwell, who died in September 1978.
Survivors are: a daughter Marty (Ron) Brothers, Indianapolis; three sisters: Florence Marsh and Darlene Ferguson, both of Florida, and Mary Anderson, Celina; and two grandchidlren.
Deceased are two sisters and six brothers.
She attended St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen. She was a homemaker and worked as a baby sitter for several families over the years.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. John W. Tostrick officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Betty Jo Comer
Betty Jo (Bailey) Comer, 45, Wapakoneta, died at 6:20 a.m. June 22, 2003, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 18, 1957 in Lima to B. J. and Barbara (Byrley) Bailey.
Survivors are a daughter, Billie Jo Comer, Wapakoneta; a son, Dustin, Wapakoneta; a stepson, David Comer, Wapakoneta, a brother, Derwin (Billie) Bailey, Wapakoneta; four sisters: Brenda (Steve) Freymuth, Debra (Richard) Brown, all of Wapakoneta, Sheila (Gary) Clark, Celina, and Robin (Mark) Grandstaff, Coldwater; and three grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Darrell Dean Bailey and a sister, Linda Miller.
A 1975 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, she was employed as an aide at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles Lodge 691, Wapakoneta.
Service is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at W. H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Ronald C. Boyer officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery.

Mabel Knapp
Mabel June Knapp, 69, 901 Kimberly Drive, St. Marys, died at 11:07 p.m. June 19, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born March 17, 1934, in London, Ky., to Veltie and Lilly Mullins Parman.Her husband, C. Blaine Knapp, is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Davie Hoskins, Celina, and Ronald (Elaine) Hoskins, Avada; three daughters, Sandra (Gerald) Highley and Patricia (Harold) Miracle, both of Celina, Drinda (Gary) Barton, Parowan, Utah; her companion, Richard Miller, St. Marys; and 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include five brothers, Sam Parman, Fairfield, and Charles, James, Russell and Oscar Parman, all of London, Ky.; and five sisters, Sybil Davison, Bonnie Bruner and Ruth Pennington, all of London, Juanita Tipton, Fairfield, and Lorene Gresham, Hamilton.
Deceased are a brother, Veltie Parman Jr., and two sisters, May Schell and Gladys Rose Parman.
She retired from L.J. Minor Corp. in Celina. She previously worked at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital and the Cotton Mills, both of St. Marys, and the Celina Coffee Shop.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
