Eleanor Brown
Former New Bremen and Wapakoneta resident Eleanor E. (Heil) Brown, 95, died at 6:46 p.m. July 21, 2001 at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born Jan. 11, 1906, in Chickasaw, to Anton and Mary (Heyne) Rentz. On Feb. 26, 1924, she married Lawrence Heil, who died in Nov. 1972. On April 4, 1981, she married Robert Brown, who died March 25, 1992.
Survivors are three stepsons; a stepdaughter; a grandson, two great-granddaughters and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Charles A. Heil, seven brothers and five sisters.
She was a homemaker and was retired from Stamco of New Bremen. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Daniel Conlon officiating. Burial is at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Minster.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the church.
Luella Cull
Luella Ann Cull, 95, 526 Geyer St., Dayton, died at 10 p.m. July 20, 2001, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born May 16, 1906, in Fort Recovery, to George and Elizabeth (Zehringer) Gebele. She married Russell T. Cull, who is deceased.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Richard and Theresa, and a son, David, all of Dayton; two daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Hugh Knox, Celina, and Viola and Don Weeks, Brooksville, Fla.; a sister, Georgine Robbins, Dayton; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two grandchildren, four brothers, Edwin, Dana, Paul and Bill; and four sisters, Viola, Marella, Armella and Catherine.
She was retired from Williams Bakery, Dayton, and was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Dayton, and its church choir. She was a member of the Sinclair College Swim Club, and a long time member of the Dayton Senior Citizens Center Square Dance Club and Quilting Club.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma, the Rev. James Dugal officiating. Burial is at Burdge Cemetery, Montezuma.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Corpus Christi Church, Dayton, and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Gertrude Mueller
Celina native Gertrude L. Mueller, 87, Delphos, died at 5:15 p.m. July 22, 2001 at her home.
She was born April 26, 1914, in Celina, to Francis X. and Gertrude Mary (Funk) Fisher. On Oct. 23, 1935, she married Richard C. Mueller, who died Dec. 2, 1993.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Robert J. and Marsha of Delphos, and Nicholas R. and Mary of Hammond, Ind., and a son, Arthur J. of Durango, Colo.; a daughter and their husband, Joan C. and Dennis Miller, Northridge, Calif., and two daughters, Sister Mary Gertrude Ann, Sisters of Notre Dame, Fort Wayne, Ind., and MaryAnn C. of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Margaret Rosengarten, Celina; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Thomas C. and Brother Carl, C.PP.S., a daughter, Gertrude, five brothers, Frank, Joseph, Carl, Cyril and Raymond Fischer, two sisters, Clara Tenhundfeld and Rita Wiseand a great-grandson.
She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Celina, and a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Bloodmobile, a volunteer at school and a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America. She was a charter member of Delphos Country Club, a life member of the Altar Rosary Society, Alpha Theta Club, Quarter Club and Bid-and-Bye Club.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 6-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, where a prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

James Snider
James N. Snider, 72, 1049 N. Miami Ave., Sidney, died at 10:27 p.m. July 22, 2001 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
He was born May 26, 1929, in Lima, to Audrey D. and Carrie L. (McBride) Snider. On Nov. 24, 1949, he married Mabel L. Shoffner, who died April 24, 1972. On Dec. 8, 1972, he married Juanita Alley, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Randall of Sidney; a daughter, Linda G. Sharp, Greenville; a sister and her husband, Peggy and Anthony Barga, Sidney; a half-sister and her husband, Kathy and Mark Buschur, Fort Loramie; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Bill and Bob.
He retired from Baumfolder Corp., and had previously worked at Stolle Corp. of Sidney, and was a certified bowling instructor. He was a member of Northtowne Church of God, Sidney.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Cromes Funeral Home, Sidney, the Rev. Kenneth Ellis officiating. Burial is at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 12-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Raymond Black
Raymond E. Black, 86, Geneva, Ind., died at 2:25 p.m. July 24, 2001, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Jan. 4, 1915, in Mercer County, to Noah R. and Matilda (Stoll) Black. On Sept. 22, 1939, he married Kathryn Carr, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Connie and Danny Smuts, Geneva, Ind.; a brother, Le Roy Black, Celina; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased is a daughter, Patricia Brewster.
He was a retired farmer and South Adams school bus driver, and attended New Corydon Methodist Church.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, at Downing Funeral Home, Geneva, Ind., the Rev. Dan Perry officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Geneva, Ind.
Calling is from 3-9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Victor Eifert
Victor V. Eifert, 94, Dayton, died July 20, 2001, at Maria Josephs Home, Dayton.
He was born Dec. 23, 1906, in St. Joe, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Steinbrunner) Eifert. He married Clara Huelsman, who preceded him in death.
Survivors are a sister, Agnes Link, Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Sally Eifert, Fort Recovery; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Charlie and Mary Huelsman, Chickasaw.
He was retired from Ungar of Dayton, where he worked as a toolmaker. He was a member of Queen of Martyrs Church, Dayton.
Services and burial were July 24, in Dayton.
The George C. Martin Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of arrangements.
Norbert Liette
Norbert A. Liette, 82, 2260 Celina Road, St. Marys, died at 10:30 p.m. July 25, 2001 at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born April 3, 1919, in Burkettsville, to Frank and Lydia (Borches) Liette. On Jan. 27, 1945, he married Marcella Borgert, who died Feb. 20, 1999.
Survivors are three sons and their wives, Gary and Susan, Roger and Maureen, and Dave and Nancy, all of St. Marys; three brothers and their wives, Butch and Clarine and Pete and Mary, all of Burkettsville, and Bill and Ruth of St. Marys; five sisters and their husbands, Loretta and Robert Stammen, North Star; Kate and Cy Dues, St. Henry; Emerita and Andy Grier, Troy; Marjorie and Joe Switt, Anna, and Charlene and Curly Pearson, Fort Recovery; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Rosie Hein and Dorothy Schafer.
He was a retired dairy farmer and owned Liette and Sons Dairy, St. Marys. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, the American Trap Shooting Assoc., St. Marys Gun Club and Mercer County Sportsmen's Assoc. He was a 1977 World Champion trapshooter in the North American Clay Championship held in Vandalia.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, where a prayer service is at 8 p.m.

Thomas Benner
Thomas R. Benner, 84, 305 Briarwood Drive, Coldwater, died at 10:45 p.m. July 26, 2001 at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Carroll County, Ind., to Jesse and Grace (Guckien) Benner. On July 13, 1940, he married Dorothy Kohnen who survives.
Other survivors are three sons and their wives, Mike and Sharon of Schoolcraft, Mich., Jim and Nancy of Perrysburg, and Tom Jr. and Patti of Jackson, Mich.; two daughters and their husbands, Ginny and Denny Westhoff, Seattle, Wash., and Betsy and Rich Benedetto, London, and a daughter, Barb of Toledo; a brother and his wife, Charles and Anne of Ada, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Aimee, two brothers and two sisters.
He was retired as the director of sales for the former New Idea plant in Coldwater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater and its first church council and Holy Name Society. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1991, and a board member of Coldwater Library and St. Peter Neurological Center.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Martha Powell
Martha Ann Powell, 73, 465 Union City-Elroy Road, Union City, died July 27, 2001 at Wayne Hospital, Greenville.
She was born July 23, 1928, in Mercer County, to Bruce and Velma (Yaney). She married Roger Powell, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Mark and Judy of Greenville, and a son, John of Union City; a daughter and her husband, Amy and Dan Gehret, North Star, and two daughters, Marie Nunez, Covington, Tenn., and Julia Oswalt, Greenville; a sister, Carolyn Sue Smith, Celina; a brother, Paul Adams, Celina; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Robert and Gary, a sister, Mary Helen Willrath, and a brother, Owen Adams.
She was a homemaker and member of Community Methodist Church, Union City.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Reichard Funeral Home Inc., Union City, the Rev. Dan Doty officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.

Harold Brunswick
Harold "Scrubby" Brunswick, 78, 3716 Ohio 118, Coldwater, died at 12:29 a.m. today [Jul. 30, 2001] at Van Wert Manor.
He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Wendelin, to Albert and Ottilia (Schmidt) Brunswick. On Aug. 28, 1954, he married Patricia Voisard, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Mick of Coldwater; three daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Dave Hemmelgarn, Coldwater, Star and Ken Moeller, Philothea, and Terry and David Berning, McCartyville; a brother and his wife, Bob and Tottie of Burkettsville; a sister and her husband, Wilma and Clarence Criss, Mount Prospect, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Roman and Donald.
He was retired from the former New Idea plant in Coldwater, was former owner of Brunswick Rides and a used car salesman for Werling Motors, Coldwater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its Holy Name Society. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1991, past commander and longtime Honor Guard member of Fort Recovery American Legion and longtime member and past commander of Coldwater Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.). He was a member of Commander Club and charter member of Coldwater Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Military burial services provided by Fort Recovery Legion and Coldwater V.F.W. is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
