Grace Scheer
Former New Bremen area resident Grace K. Scheer, 85, died at 9:45 a.m. July 16, 2003, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born May 2, 1918, in New Bremen, to George and Sophia Dicke Knost. On Jan. 17, 1942, she married Clifford Scheer who died Sept. 15, 1991.
Surviving are a son, David (Jane) of Greer, S.C.; two daughters, Carolyn Sanford, Englewood, and Amy of New Bremen; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Richard, George and Carl Knost, and a sister, Annabelle Dickman, are deceased.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, and the Busy 12 of the church.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the church assembly room chapel, the Rev. Richard Weir officiating. The body was cremated.

Lillian Stanley
Lillian Agatha Stanley, 89, of Decatur, Ind., died at 11:15 p.m. July 13, 2003, at Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur.
She was born July 2, 1914, in Kirksville, Mo., to Jessie and Cora Ethel Dabney Collins. On Feb. 18, 1933, she married Clyde W. Stanley who died Aug. 2, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Jerry (Loretta) of Rockford; two sisters, Daisy Greene, Palm Springs, Calif., and Dorothy Elton, Napa, Calif.; two grandsons and a great-grandson. The homemaker and longtime Napa resident moved to Decatur two years ago.
Services were to be today at Richard Pierce Funeral Home, Napa.
Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, had charge of local arrangements.
Olive Weyrauch
St. Henry native Olive L. Weyrauch, 90, of Dayton, died July 16, 2003, at Oak Creek Terrace Nursing Center, Kettering.
She was born June 26, 1913, in St. Henry, to Bernard J. and Catherine (Knapke) Lammers. Her first husband, John Cramer, died in 1966. In 1971, she married George Weyrauch who died in 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Joy (Cal) Rose, West Carrollton, and Cathy (Stan) Sims, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Lois Stammen, North Star, and Virginia Lammers, Columbus; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Club, the Maria Joseph Auxiliary and the Greater Dayton Boat Club, all of Dayton.
Funeral Mass is 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. William O'Donnell officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Baker-Hazel Funeral Home, Dayton.
Julia Apelian
Former St. Marys resident, Julia Lynn Apelian, 42, of Spring Valley, Calif., died June 22, 2003, at her residence. The cause of death was not available.
She was born May 12, 1961, in Columbus, to George and Clover Werner Apelian. They survive in Boca Raton, Fla.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cassandra Lynn Green, Yuma, Ariz.; a brother, Michael of Boca Raton; and a sister, Georgeanne Shockey, Houston, Texas.
Deceased are the maternal grandparents, Howard and Jess Werner.
She was director of marketing at Montbeau Wood Designs in San Diego, Calif. A 1979 graduate of Upper Arlington High School and a graduate of the University of Florida, she was a volunteer at the San Diego Estuary.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Jerry Folk officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Jade Bayman
Former Celina resident Jade William Bayman, 29, of Los Angeles, California, was killed July 8, 2003, in a traffic accident in Albuquerque, N.M.
He was born Jan. 31, 1974, in St. Marys, to Pat and Carla Bayman. They survive in St. Marys.
Also surviving are a brother, George (Amanda) of St. Marys, and two nephews.
He was a self employed photographer and waiter.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Slowride officiating.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Urban Bornhorst
Urban A. "Barney" Bornhorst, 86, 25 Sawmill Road, Unit 3, Fort Loramie, died at 10:15 a.m. July 15, 2003, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney. He had resided at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, the past three months.
He was born Aug. 17, 1916, in Shelby County, to Louis and Rose (Meyer) Bornhorst. On Aug. 7, 1942, he married Helen H. Winner who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Tom (Margaret) of West Palm Beach, Fla., David (Mary) of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Tony (Dina) of Dublin; four brothers, Ralph (Madelyn) of Sidney, Homer (Mary Lou) of Fort Loramie, Paul of McCartyville, and Raymond (Doris) of Anna; five sisters, Norma Bensman, McCartyville, Eileen Borchers, Fort Loramie, Martha (Dick) Barhorst, Russia, Verona (Elmer) Poeppelman, New Bremen, and Dorothy Combs, West Union; and eight grandchildren.
A brother and a sister are deceased.
He retired from Mosier Tree Co., Dayton, and served with the U.S. Army's Fourth Infantry Division in the European Theatre during World War II. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John and American Legion Post 355, all of Fort Loramie, and the Knights of Columbus, Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, McCartyville, with the Legion conducting military rites.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Wanda Hubley
Wanda M. Hubley, 93, 1302 Queensbury Drive, Celina, died at 3:30 a.m. July 12, 2003, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 8, 1910, in Mercer County, to Walter and Dencie Smalley Nutt. On Aug. 22, 1935, she married Rankin Dale Hubley who died March 9, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Alan (Dorothy) of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Roger (Melody) of Mason; a sister, Esther Bollenbacher, Celina; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Oliver Nutt, and three sisters, Dorothy Miller, Florence Turner and Ruby Dean.
She was a teacher in Cincinnati and Cleveland before moving to the Spencerville School District, where she retired in 1974 after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association.
Memorial services will be at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

McKenna Tebbe
McKenna Dru Tebbe, infant daughter of Kenneth and Amanda (Nuding) Tebbe, 329 Schroeder Road, Fort Recovery, died at 6 p.m. July 12, 2003, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, where she had been born 16 hours earlier.
Surviving with the parents are a twin brother, Kendrick; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Edna Tebbe, Fort Recovery; maternal grandparents, Grover and Patricia Nuding, Celina; paternal great-grandmother, Stella Piekenbrock, St. Rose; and maternal great-grandparents, Grace Nuding, Celina, and Al and Betty Lechifflard, Vero Beach, Fla.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Cemetery, St. Anthony, the Rev. Kenneth Alt officiating.

Walter Aufderhaar
Walter Aufderhaar, 88, 320 Market St., St. Marys, died at 2:08 a.m. July 13, 2003, at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1915 in Moulton to William and Margaret Roediger Aufderhaar. On Feb. 2, 1947, he married Margaret Henkener, who survives at the residence.
Also surviving are two sons: Jim (Sue), Columbus, Ron (Diane), Botkins, a daughter, Joyce Aufderhaar, St. Marys; a sister, Esther Sandridge, Greenfield, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Ervin and Norman; three sisters, Martha Palm, Dorothy Diamond and Leona Painter; two infant brothers; and two great-grandchildren.
He attended Country School, Moulton, and Wapakoneta High School. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in Guadalcanal and the Northern Solomans. He was a member of VFW Post 9289, American Legion Heiland Post 446, Anna. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, hunting and fishing.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, with the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to the church.
Mary R. Bubp Beyke
Mary R. Bubp Beyke, 92, 302 S. Wayne St., Fort Recovery, died at 5:30 a.m. July 13, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 11, 1911 in Minster to Henry and Bernadine Meyer Olding. Her adoptive parents were Louis and Rosa Moeller. She married Albert F. Bubp in 1933 and he died in 1968. In 1974, she married Leo Beyke and he died in 1976.
Surviving are four sons: James (Charlene), Fort Recovery, Thomas (Marilyn), Englewood, David (Cheryl), Celina and Steve, Van Wert; a daughter, Janice (Ralph) Jutte, Hebron; two stepdaughters, Virginia (Darrell) Jutte, Indianapolis, and Elaine (Joe) Wellman, Washington, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Cecelia Olding, Minster; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Virginia; a son, Jerome Bubp; a brother, Edwin Olding; and two sisters, Alvina Schulze and Edna Knapke.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Former co-owner of Fort Recovery Lumber Company, she was a graduate of Fort Recovery High School. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, and the Altar Sodality.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman funeral home.
