Armella Bruggerman
Armella Bruggeman, 83, 641 E. Main St., St. Henry, died at 9:36 p.m. July 12, 2003 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
She was born July 18, 1919 in Maria Stein to August and Anna Miller Everman. On April 27, 1940, she married Leo Bruggeman in Maria Stein and he died Jan. 15, 1971.
Surviving are two sons, Marvin (Shirley), Plant City, Fla. and Ronald (Linda), St. Henry; five daughters: Lois (Elmer) Grilliot, Yorkshire, Sharon Voskuhl, Maria Stein, Gerri (Fred) Bertke, New Knoxville, Bernice (Ron) Dwenger, Chickasaw, and Beverly (Gary) Clune, St. Henry; two brothers, Richard (Mary Agnes), Cranberry Prairie, Cyril (Wilma), Maria Stein; three sisters: Adaline Knapke, Yorkshire, Alfrieda Reichert, Maria Stein, and Wilma (Albert) Zumberger, Newport; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Art and Bill; one sister, Clarina Broerman; a son-in-law, Charles Voskuhl; and a granddaughter.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic church, the Rosary Altar Sodality and the St. Henry American Legion Auxiliary.
She was retired from Huffy Manufacturing, Celina and was a personal care giver.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Gerard H. Dircksen
Gerard H. Dircksen, 46, 1220 Dircksen Rd., Fort Loramie, died July 11, 2003, at his residence following a farm accident.
He was born April 1, 1957, in Coldwater, to John and Anna Marie Heitkamp Dircksen, and they survive in Egypt. On April 29, 1995, he married Ann C. Berning, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Dustin, two months old; three brothers, Tom and Jerome (Angie) Minster, John (Angie) New Knoxville; four sisters: Mary Lou (Jim) Nerderman, Versailles, Dorothy (Roger) Moeller, Fort Loramie, Betty (Ron) Marchal, Burkettsville and Anne, Lockington.
Deceased is a sister-in-law, Judy; and a nephew.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Egypt, Eagles Aerie 1391, Minster, and was a 1975 graduate of Minster High School.
He was a self-employed truck driver and a farmer.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Harold J. Eisenhut
Harold J. "Jack" Eisenhut, 72, 12526 Ohio 362, Minster, died at 12:55 p.m. July 12, 2003 at Heritage Manor Nursing home, Minster.
He was born June 23, 1931 in Lockington to Wilson and Ada Stewart Eisenhut.
Surviving are a son, Stanley "Jim", Celina; and two daughters, Ina (Bill) smith, Fort Loramie, and Ada Pry, Bradford; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother and two great-grandchildren.
He was an auctioneer for 30 years and a member of Covington Eagles Aerie. He was retired from Hobart Brothers, Troy, as a group leader in 1993 after 43 years of service.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Beechwood Cemetery, Lockington, with the Rev. Wayne Jump officiating.
There is no visitation.

Betty Jean Hall
Betty Jean Hall, 75, Columbia City, Ind., died at 9:22 a.m. July 12, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, where she lived with her daughter.
She was born in Fort Wayne on Jan. 17, 1928 to Chester and Loretta Algar Myers. On Oct. 24, 1970, she married Charles R. Hall, who died on Jan. 7, 1995.
Surviving are four sons, Ted (Sherrell) Gordon, Tulsa, Okla., Fred (Christina) Gordon, Roanoke, Ind., Wayne Gordon, Whitewater, Wis., and Kenny (Sherry) Gordon, Fort Wayne; two daughters, Judy (Matthew) Barnes, Fort Wayne and Vickie (Don) Ashcraft, Celina; two stepdaughters, Grace (Mike) Kelly, Donna Diss, Fort Wayne; a sister, Colleen Statler, Wolf Lake, Ind., four brothers, Robert (Judy) Myers and Bill Myers, both of Fort Wayne, Jim (Rose) Myers, Waco, Tex., Don (Sandy) Myers, Avilla, Ind., former husband, Tony Gordon, Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are a stepdaughter, Sherry Morton; a brother, Chester Myers; two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, Ind., with the Rev. Christine Newman-Jacobs of Churubusco United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Noble County, Ind.

Opal May Huffman
Opal May Huffman, 93, Rockford, died at 3:20 a.m. July 13, 2003 at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford.
She was born May 25, 1910 in Rockford to Benjamin and Merle Rush Snyder. In 1926, she married Darrell Huffman, who died in March 1972.
Surviving is a son, Dan (Bonnie), Jacksonville, Fla.,; two sisters, Bessie Fahncke, Celina, and Bonita (Dean) Deitsch, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and two granddaughters.
Deceased are four brothers: Dee, Lowell, Verl and Darlene; four sisters: Arberdene Fickert, Lela Felver, Lena Cook and Jessie Sapp.
Service are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral home, Rockford, with the Rev. Clifford Bollenbacher officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to service Wednesday.
Hugh Burnett
Mercer County native Hugh E. Burnett, 78, 204 South Ave., Van Wert, died at 5 p.m. July 10, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Mercer County, to Homer and Irene Roller Burnett. On Nov. 22, 1997, he married Anna Wilkin Buettner who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Homer (Carol), of Celina, and Ray (Donna), of Greenville; four daughters, Donna (Mike) Hampton, Lima, Mary Miller and Gay (Robert) Pease, both of Van Wert, and Martha Melco, Indianapolis, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Jane (Jeff) Maus, Van Wert, and Sherry Buettner, Delphos; a sister, Dorothy Hartung, Celina; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Clarence; a sister, Hazel Johnson; and a great-grandson.
He had been employed the past 12 years as a security guard at Wemco in Lima after retiring from Crown Manufacturing. A 1943 graduate of York High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and attended Middle Point United Methodist Church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Revs. Jay Roller and Cindy Lumm officiating. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery near Mendon.

Albert Houts
Albert S. Houts, 78, 1 N. Eastmoor Drive, New Bremen, died at 2:10 a.m. July 11, 2003, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
He was born July 14, 1924, in Mercer County, to Clarence and Bertha Copsey Houts. On Aug. 4, 1945, he married Bernice Fischbach who survives.
Other survivors include brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.
Deceased are his twin brother, Alfred; another brother, Robert; and a sister, Doris Temple.
He retired as a supervisor at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was held prisoner in Nazi Germany for some months.
He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, American Legion Post 44, New Knoxville and various Masonic organizations including Mercer Lodge 121, Free & Accepted Masons, Antioch Shrine and the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. John Tostrick officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Robert Brinkmeyer
Retired Lt. Col. Robert H. Brinkmeyer, 89, 5704 Rockmere Drive, Bethesda, Md., a native of St. Marys, died July 7, 2003, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C.
He was born Aug. 9, 1913, in St. Marys, to Herman and Flora Lambert Brinkmeyer. His wife, the former Mary Yarbrough, survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert H. Jr. of Fayetteville, Ark.; a daughter, Elizabeth (John) Graham, Raleigh, N.C.; five granddaughters and a great-grandson.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force and later served as a budget and fiscal officer with the U.S. government in Washington, D.C.
Graveside services with military honors are 9 a.m. Monday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. James Nuhfer officiating.
Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, has charge of arrangements.
Judith Ditmer
Judith C. "Judy" Ditmer, 62, formerly of Fort Recovery, died at 9:30 p.m. July 10, 2003, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born March 8, 1941, in Celina, to Arnold and Luella Bruns Schwieterman. On June 7, 1977, she married Lowell Ditmer who died March 22, 1992.
Surviving are a son, Joe of Fort Recovery; a daughter, Danette Gremminger, Mayville, Wis.; a stepson, Gene of Tennessee; and a stepdaughter, Shirley Baker, Pitsburg.
Other survivors include four brothers, John (Jinny) Schwieterman, St. Henry, Tom (Marge) Schwieterman and Roy (Deb) Schwieterman, all of Burkettsville, and Ron (Ellen) Schwieterman, Fort Recovery; four sisters, Nancy (Ron) Jones and Mary (Bill) Gaerke, all of Fort Recovery, Sue (Jerry) Borchers, Russia, and Karen (Jack) Hatert, New Weston; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Foureman, Greenville.
One sister, Darlene Schwieterman, and a brother-in-law, Ron Wendel, are deceased. She formerly worked at Elder Beerman in Dayton. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Carl Wise officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.

Marjorie Eckrote
Marjorie I. Eckrote, 73, 6620 S. 550 E., Berne, Ind., died at 2:50 a.m. July 10, 2003, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ind.
She was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Jefferson Twp., Ind., to Otto and Margaret O. Bollenbacher. On May 19, 1951, she married George Ralph Eckrote who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jerry Dean (Sheryl) of Geneva, Ind.; two daughters, Lou Ann (David) Sharp, Amboy, Ind., and Cathy Sue (Rodney) Pierce, Bluffton, Ind.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A brother, LeRoy Bollenbacher, and a sister, Arveda Purdy, are deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Chattanooga. She had attended Rockford High School.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva, Ind., the Rev. Tom Arnheit officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Chattanooga.

Melvin Woehrmyer
Melvin Kenneth Woehrmyer, 81, 248 N. Cleveland St., Minster, died at 9:47 a.m. July 9, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born May 25, 1922, in Shelby County, to Willard and Appolonia Bornhorst Woehrmyer. On June 1, 1943, he married Vera Puthoff who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ken (Deb) of Lebanon, Jay (Deb) of Three Rivers, Mich., and Bill (Donna) of New Bremen; three daughters, Judy (Larry) Heitkamp, St. Henry, Dianne (Ned) Sielschott, Minster, and Sue (Jim) Christian, Versailles; a brother, Thomas (Irene) of Minster; a sister, Marjorie (Al) Larger, Minster; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
One grandchild is deceased.
He was the owner and operator of Mel's Decorating in Minster. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, the Civic Association and the Cataract Fire Company, all of Minster.
