Louetta Pleiman
Louetta M. Pleiman, 93, formerly of Fort Loramie, died at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 8, 2001, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born March 22, 1908, in St. Patrick, to Anton and Elizabeth (Sommer) Eilerman. On June 12, 1929, she married Raymond B. Pleiman who died March 22, 1993.
Survivors are three sons, Harvey of Gainesville, Fla., Elton of Fort Loramie, and John of Sidney; a son-in-law, Richard Barhorst, Fort Loramie; a daughter and her husband, Ruth and Robert Birkmeyer, Coldwater; five brothers, Albert Eilerman, Sidney, John Eilerman, Fort Loramie, Paul Eilerman, Sidney, and Tony Eilerman, Fort Loramie; two sisters, Mary Kuether, Houston, and Bertha Wenning, Osgood; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Mary Barhorst.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and the St. Anne Ladies Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Ralph Chaney
Ralph E. Chaney, 77, 117 S. Beech St., St. Marys, died at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 9, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born March 11, 1924, in Jamestown, to Charles and Mary (Murphy) Chaney. On March 8, 1947, he married Martha Thompson, who survives.
Other survivors are four sons and their wives, Charles and Kathy and Larry and Chris, all of St. Marys, Melvin and Madonna of Rockford, and Rick and Jackie of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Brenda and Kevin Hance, St. Marys; a sister, Mabel Williams, Celina; 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert Sr. and Virgil; a sister, Reva Sanders; and a great-granddaughter.
He retired from Fowler's Television, St. Marys, and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday, at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Ruth Chinn
Ruth E. Chinn, 86, 714 Linden Ave., Celina, formerly of Cincinnati, died at 7:15 p.m. Aug. 10, 2001 at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 9, 1914, in Cincinnati, to William and Alberta (Braunschweiger) Diers.
Surviving are a son and his wife, William and Shirley of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Marlene and Howard Mangen, Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was retired from the Hamilton County Welfare Department, Cincinnati. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati.
Services are 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home, the Rev. Steve Howell officiating. Burial is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Calling is 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Violet Harrod
Violet M. Harrod, 85, Celina, died today [Aug. 13, 2001] at Ashton Terrace Nursing Home, where she resided.
She was born Feb. 19, 1916, in Lima, to John and Estelle (Johns) Dillon. On March 6, 1945, she married John W. Harrod Sr. who died June 9, 1982.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, John W. Jr. and Pat, Daniel L. and Dorothy, and Richard M. and Pat, all of Celina; two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Marvyn Ellis and Patricia and James Now, Celina; a daughter, Marilyn Miller, Celina; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Ralph Dillon; a sister, Mary May; and three grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at W.H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home, the Rev. Douglas R. Meyer officiating. Burial is at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Washington Township.

Martha Huston
Martha J. Huston, 62, 537 Touvelle St., Lot 49, Celina, died at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 11, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Auglaize County, to Forest and Clara Dixon. On April 8, 1961, she married Noah H. Huston who died May 29, 2001.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Terry and Deb of Celina; four sons, Mike, Jim and Tim, all of Celina, and Jeff of Lima; a daughter, Christine Huston, Celina; a sister, Beverly Dixon, Minster; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of Abounding Grace Church of God, Celina.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home, the Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.

Hilda Kuest
Hilda Kuest, 88, 20 S. Franklin St., New Bremen, died at 2:50 p.m. Aug. 12, 2001 at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 14, 1912, near New Bremen, to John H. and Wilhelmina A. (Brueggeman) Kuest.
Surviving are a sister, Alma Kuest, and a brother, Henry Kuest, both of New Bremen.
Deceased are a sister and her husband, Esther and Emil Schroer.
She was a retired bookkeeper from Lock Two Grain and Milling Co., New Bremen, and formerly worked as a sales clerk at the Arcade Department Store. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, where she was a member of the Capsule, sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher for 32 years in the primary department.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. John W. Tostrick officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Joan Uhlenhake
Joan E. Uhlenhake, 74, 650 N. Mill St., Celina, died Aug. 12 at 5:49 p.m. at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born March 21, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Francis Oswald and Olive (Griffith) Oswald Moorman. On Sept. 25, 1954, she married Paul J. Uhlenhake who died Jan. 22, 1990.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, John and Ruth and Mark and Deb, all of Celina; two sons, James and Michael of Celina; two daughters and their husbands, Ann and Ron Heitbrink and Ellen and Jack Gerlach, Celina; a daughter, Lisa, Celina; a brother, Robert Oswald, Northbrook, Ill.; a sister, Betty Miller, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Ruth Kurtz and Mary Ellen Bruskotter, and a grandson.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar-Rosary Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Richard R. Riedel officiating. Burial is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina.

Paul Uhlenhake
Paul "Casey" Uhlenhake, 77, 261 Spring St., St. Henry, died at 1:15 a.m. today at the home of his son in St. Henry.
He was born Nov. 28, 1923, in St. Henry, to William and Catherine (Link) Uhlenhake. On Aug. 26, 1950, he married Rose Marie George who died May 14, 2001.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Joyce and Chris Davell, Boca Raton, Fla.; two sons and their wives, Gary and Dianne of St. Marys and Jeffery and Cheri of St. Henry; a sister and her husband, Helen and Maurice Klosterman, Celina; a brother and his wife, Alvin and Dorothy Uhlenhake, North Baltimore; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He retired from Avco New Idea, Coldwater, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the Mercer County Elks and St. Henry American Legion.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial with military honors is at the church cemetery.

Arthur Fiely
Arthur H. Fiely, 58, 5817 Fort Recovery-Minster Road, St. Henry, died at 1:20 a.m. today [Aug. 15, 2001] at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Cranberry Prairie, to Edmund and Margaret (Quinter) Fiely. His mother survives in Cranberry Prairie. On Feb. 6, 1971, he married Marilyn Grieshop and she survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Jim of Cranberry Prairie and Jeff of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Mark Ungruhn, Maria Stein; a daughter, Lynda, at home; five sisters and their husbands, Mary Louise and Elmer Schulze, St. Henry, Rosa Mary and LeRoy Obringer, Maria Stein, Irene and Herbert Brussell, New Bremen, Mary Ann and John Wendel, Fort Recovery, and Rita and Robert Boeke, Algonquin, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Theresa Fiely, Cranberry Prairie; and four grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Stanley and Robert, and a grandchild.
He was employed at Minster Machine Co. and was an Emergency Management Association volunteer. He was an Ohio National Guard veteran and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Cranberry Prairie, St. Francis Men's Society, Catholic Knights of America, Cassella, the Minster Machine 25 Year Club, Maria Stein American Legion, the Knights of St. John Uniform Rank and a member and past president of the Knights of St. John, Maria Stein.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial with military honors is at the church cemetery.

Chandee Homan
Chandee Lynn Homan, 21, 7766 Ohio 274, Chickasaw, died the evening of Aug. 13, 2001, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, from injuries sustained in a two-car crash Aug. 8.
She was born Oct. 25, 1979, in Coldwater, to Leo and Diana (Hein) Homan. They survive in Chickasaw.
Other survivors are a brother and his wife, Todd and Lisa of St. Henry; a brother, Bart, at home; a sister and her husband, Shannon and Kelly McGee, Newport; and a maternal grandfather, Leon Hein, St. Sebastian.
Deceased are a brother, Joseph; a sister, Tana; a maternal grandmother, Rosa Hein; and the paternal grandparents, Leo and Clara Homan.
She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, and the Ladies Rosary-Altar Sodality. She was a 1998 graduate of Marion Local High School and a senior majoring in management information systems at the University of Dayton. She was president of U.D. Students for Life, a scholar student and a member of the university's church choir, intramural basketball team and Mock Trial Team. She had also been named to the dean's list.
