Caroline Albers
Caroline "Callie" Albers, 93, formerly of 14100 McCartyville Road, McCartyville, died at 7:40 p.m. Aug. 22, 2002, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster. She had resided there the past six years.
She was born July 21, 1909, in Egypt, to Anton and Anna (Riethman) Kuether. On June 25, 1930, she married John J. Albers and he died Dec. 11, 1991.
Surviving are four sons and their wives, Aloys and Connie, Henry and Bernice, Marvin and Rosemary and Leonard and Lou Ann, all of McCartyville, and John and Sherri, Slidell, La.; a son, Vernon of McCartyville; five daughters and their husbands, Rita and Robert Hilgefort, Sidney, Rose and Alfred Gehret, McCartyville, Regina and Arthur Fischer, Versailles, Teckla and David Heitkamp, Maria Stein, and Mary and Fred Winner, Osgood; and two daughters, Joanne Bills, St. Marys, and Theresa Albers, McCartyville.
Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Alvina Kuether, Osgood, Veronica Kuether, Egypt, and Mary Kuether, Houston; 57 grandchildren and 84 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son-in-law, Cyril Bills; four brothers, two sisters, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar-Rosary Sodality, both of McCartyville.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Pat Welsh officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Walter Mills
Walter "Leon" Mills, 82, 13517 Ohio 49, New Weston, died at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 23, 2002, at the Versailles Health Care Center.
He was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Darke County, to Walter S. and Sylvia (Lehman) Mills. On Aug. 5, 1944, he married Edna Myers and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Monte of Fort Recovery; a daughter and her husband, Dixie and Mark Timmerman, Fort Recovery, and two daughters, Cheryl Meinerding, Fort Recovery, and Vickie Roth, New Weston; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A great-grandchild is deceased.
He retired from Inland Manufacturing, Dayton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of First Methodist Church, Rosehill, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, both of Fort Recovery, the Masonic Lodge of Ansonia and Mizpah Shrine Temple, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Kelly Moody officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Emil Baumgartner
Emil "Bumpy" Baumgartner, 74, 701 Eden Ave., Coldwater, died at 4:43 a.m. Aug. 25, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born July 10, 1928, in Wood County, to Emil Sr. and Erva (Newsome) Baumgartner. On April 29, 1971, he married Julie Dock and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Bruce and Tammy of Montpelier, Ind.; a daughter and her husband, Sue and Jesus Cruz, Fort Recovery; a sister and her husband, Joan and Don Leu, Toledo, and a sister, Alma Michalak, Northwood; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rex and Jean Dock, Celina; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son, Monte; an infant daughter, Rebecca; a half sister, Patty Emmons; and a half brother, David.
He served with the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division during World War II and the Korean War. He served as police chief in Fort Recovery during the 1950s and as a deputy sheriff with the Mercer County Sheriff's Office during the 1960s. He retired from Fort Recovery Industries. He was the welterweight Golden Gloves champion of Ohio in 1945.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial will be at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.

Margaret Dabbelt
Former Celina resident Margaret F. Dabbelt, 82, of Meade, Kan., died Aug. 22, 2002, at Meade District Hospital.
She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Celina, to Charles and Caroline (Stukenborg) Zumberge. On Sept. 18, 1958, she married Leo Dabbelt and he survives.
Also surviving are a brother, John Zumberge, Celina, and a sister, Hilda Sommer, Minster.
Deceased are two brothers, Edward and the Rev. August Zumberge, and three sisters, Erma Winner, Nettie Vanderhorst and Anna Knapke.
She formerly worked at Goldstein's Clothing Store and Reynolds & Reynolds, both of Celina. After moving to Kansas in 1958, she worked at Moon Mist Motel and Lone Tree Lodge, both of Meade. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Meade, and a founding member of the Altar Society of Fowler, Kan.
Funeral Mass was to be at 10 a.m. today at the church with burial to follow at Fowler Cemetery.
Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Meade, had charge of arrangements.

Thomas Kellermeyer
Thomas E. Kellermeyer, 85, formerly of 502 Indiana Ave., St. Marys, died at 3:14 a.m. Aug. 24, 2002, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
He was born April 10, 1917, in Wapakoneta, to Arthur and Prudencia (Howell) Kellermeyer. On Feb. 25, 1940, he married Clara E. Combs and she died Sept. 18, 1977.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Thomas A. and Rebecca of St. Marys; a daughter, Kim Brandt, Wapakoneta; four brothers, Arthur of Spencerville, Richard of Wapakoneta, Gene of Monticello, and Larry of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four sisters, Betty Youngs and Rita Michael-Davis, both of St. Marys, Carol Beane, Wapakoneta, and Mary Jo Speckman, Huber Heights; five grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Robert, Carl and Jack, and a sister, Geraldine Eichelberger.
A 1935 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, he served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a molder from St. Marys Foundry Co. after 391/2 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #767, both of St. Marys. He also was a member and past master of Mercer Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons #121, also of St. Marys.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnich officiating.
Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, has charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

Ardyth May
Ardyth W. May, 84, 2552 Kugel Drive, Erastus, died at 10 p.m. Aug. 23, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
She was born June 22, 1918, in Coldwater, to William and Susie (Kittle) Crouch. On Dec. 2, 1937, she married James M. May and he died Nov. 28, 1984.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Dick and Cookie of Erastus; a daughter and her husband, Melanie and Jim Langenkamp, Celina; a daughter-in-law, Lovest Sue May, Celina; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James; two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
She was a homemaker and a member of Erastus United Methodist Church.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Robert Dungan officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens near Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Judy McGillvary
Judy B. McGillvary, 60, 1022 Holly St., Celina, died at 11:21 a.m. Aug. 24, 2002, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Carthagena, to Lester and Alvira (Hartke) Huwer. Her mother survives at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford. On Oct. 6, 1962, she married Edward L. McGillvary and he survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Brett and Stacy of Celina; two daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Jeff Severns, Mendon, and Susie and Dave Staugler, Celina, and a daughter, Debbie, at home; a brother and his wife, John and Cathy Huwer, Dover, Del.; four sisters and their husbands, Patricia and John Pfister, Fort Wayne, Ind., Nancy and Steve Ertel, Muncie, Ind., Jane and Shawn Miesse, Celina, and Barbara and Rick Flowers, Naples, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
A brother, Ralph Huwer, is deceased.
She was co-owner of the Empire Family Restaurant and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, both of Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina.

Marie Metz
Marie Metz, 94, formerly of 800 Indiana Ave., St. Marys, died at 7:12 p.m. Aug. 24, 2002, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born July 15, 1908, in German Township, Auglaize County, to Fred and Anna (Wuebbling) Wehrman. In July 1926, she married Ernest H. Metz and he died June 4, 1980.
Surviving are a son and his wife, David and Sharlene of St. Marys; two daughters and their husbands, Lois Ann and William Esser, Claremont, Calif., and Carolyn and Merle Schuller, St. Marys; a daughter-in-law, Lorene Metz, St. Marys; two sisters, Helen Froning, New Bremen, and Irene Staggs, Highland, Calif.; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Donald and Ned Metz, and a brother, Edward Wehrman.
A graduate of New Bremen High School, she was a homemaker and a former employee of Adolph's Restaurant in New Knoxville and St. Marys Nursing Home. She was a 50-year member of Kishler Women's Relief Corps and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild of the church, all of St. Marys.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near St. Marys.

Janet Muhlenkamp
Janet M. Muhlenkamp, 51, 3840 Tawawa-Maplewood Road, Sidney, died suddenly Aug. 20, 2002, at her residence. An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death.
She was born Sept. 8, 1950, in Celina, to Elmer and Pauline (Wenning) Vehorn. On Nov. 27, 1970, she married James Muhlenkamp and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jason of Sidney; a daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Chad Spillers, and a daughter, Jennifer, all of Sidney; a brother and his wife, Bob and Linda Vehorn, Greenville, and two brothers, Mike and David Vehorn, both of Maria Stein; four sisters and their husbands, Barbara and Clarence Cecil, Jackson Center, Elaine and Matt Barhorst, St. Marys, Pam and Steve Ritchie, Celina, and Peg and Brad Hickey, Muncie, Ind., and a sister, Dianne Vehorn, Columbus.
One brother is deceased.
She was employed as a department manager at Wal-Mart in Sidney. She was a member of the AmVets Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary, both of Sidney.
