Francis Addington
Francis L. Addington, 71, of Celina, died at 8:20 p.m. Aug. 28, 2002, at his residence.
He was born April 18, 1931, in Winchester, Ind., to Lester R. and Elizabeth (Lasley) Addington. On Sept. 3, 1950, he married Anna Warnes and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter and her husband, Kina and Les Cunningham, Indiana; a sister, Jeanetta Smiley, also of Indiana; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Michael, is deceased.
He retired as a school bus driver and custodian for Lincoln Schools in Randolph County, Ind. He later worked at ABC Bus Co. and as a maintenance man at Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. He retired in 1993 from the Randolph Central School System in Randolph County. He was a court-appointed special advocate in Randolph County for 11 years and a volunteer with the White River Township Fire Department in Selma, Ind., the Randolph County Airport and Lakefield Airport, Montezuma. He was a member of Beaver Chapel Congregational Christian Church, Celina, and a former member of Harrisville Congregational Christian Church, Randolph County.
Private graveside services will be Friday at Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga, Ind., the Rev. Thomas Christen officiating.
Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, has charge of arrangements. There is no visitation.
Contributions can be made to the Celina church.

Henry Knoth
Henry J. Knoth, 98, 319 E. North St., Coldwater, died at 11:21 p.m. Aug. 28, 2002, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born May 23, 1904, in St. Peter, to Chris and Agnes (Gaerke) Knoth. On Sept. 2, 1933, he married Mildred Jutte and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons and their wives, Jerry and Barb of Fairborn, Jim and Nancy of Clayton, and John and Brenda of Charleston, W. Va.; a daughter and her husband, Jane and Jerry Rutledge, Celina, and a daughter, Janet Turner, Indian Lake; four sisters, Christine Bernard, Florida, Alvina Laux, Portland, Ind., Anna Marie Steinbrunner, St. Joe, and Anna Matilda Tisdale, California; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Albert and Ethel Jutte, Fort Recovery, and Johnny and Joanne Jutte, Coldwater; two sisters-in-law, Frances Knapke, Coldwater, and Johanna Keller, Geneva, Ind.; a nephew, Joe Braun, Saratoga, Ind., who was raised in the Knoth family; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons-in-law, Larry Reigelsperger and Dave Turner; two brothers, John and Ed; a sister, Loretta Braun; and two grandchildren.
He was a farmer and a retired employee of New Idea, Coldwater. He later worked for Benanzer Nursery near Coldwater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, both of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Arydth May
Services for Arydth May were 10 a.m. Aug. 28, 2002, at Erastus United Methodist Church, the Rev. Robert Dungan officiated.
Organist was Marjorie Vogel-Hooker and Barbara Dungan was soloist.
Pallbearers to Mercer Memory Gardens were John, Jody, Randie and Tom May, Andy Langenkamp and Don Kittle.
Lehman Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Ida Gillispie
Ida B. Gillispie, 76, 615 Murlin Ave., Celina, died at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 29, 2002, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Alger, the daughter of Martin and Pearl (Norris) Newland.
She is survived by three brothers, Robert Newland of Largo, Fla., Marvin Newland of Celina, and Martin Newland of Fort Lawson, S.C.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.
There is no visitation or service. Burial will be at a later date.
Lehman Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Albright
Elizabeth "Betty" Albright, 90, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, died at 11:16 p.m. Aug. 28, 2002, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Sept. 23, 1911, in Minster, the daughter of Michael Anthony and Eleanora (Beckman) Anthony Oldiges. On June 28, 1930, she married Raymond W. Albright, who died Dec. 12, 1958.
She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Wallace and Martha, and Clarence and Elsie Oldiges, both of Chicopee, Mass; a sister and her husband, Doris and Jerome Wissman of New Bremen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters Elinor Pearson and Mabel Kettler; and brother Dale Oldiges.
She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, and a former member of the St. Teresa of Avila Church in Cincinnati. She was a member of the St. Marys Ladies Society and the St. Teresa Adult Group. She retired in 1977 from F.W. Woolworth Co. in Cincinnati, after 41 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Holy Redeemer, with the Rev. Leo Hoying and Rev. Greg Bornhorst officiating. Burial will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in Minster.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the church services.
Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen is handling arrangements.

Marsha Dunlap
Marsha E. Dunlap, 45, 510 Hendricks Ave., St. Marys, died at 7:19 p.m. Aug. 28, 2002, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death.
She was born Nov. 9, 1961, in St. Marys, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Miller) Dunlap.
She is survived by a sister, Jeannine McCann, of New Knoxville; and four brothers, Ron, Frank and Robert Jr., all of St. Marys, and Larry George Ligget, a resident at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She is a 1980 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys, and was employed at Chief Supermarket in St. Marys Square.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys, with the Rev. Jeanette Rode officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Leola Wissman
Leola A. Wissman, 96, former resident of 317 S. Walnut St., New Bremen, died at 7 a.m. Aug. 30, 2002, at Otterbein Retirement Community in St. Marys.
She was born Sept. 21, 1905 in New Bremen, the daughter of John and Elsie (Waterman) Speckman. On June 26, 1930, she married Reuben E. Wissman, who died June 27, 1989.
Survivors are her brother, Lewis Speckman, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Roma Speckman, Selma Briggs and Ethel Freytag; and a brother, Lloyd Speckman.
She had worked at the former Streine Manufacturing Co. in New Bremen and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen and First Church of Christ Scientist in Celina. She was a member of many of the women's music groups in the county as well as the church choir in New Bremen and a soloist at the First Church of Christ Scientist. She was a past president of the New Bremen Women's Club and also of the Auglaize County Farm Bureau women's group. She was a past scout leader with the New Bremen Girl Scouts.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, the Rev. John Tostrick officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Calling is 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be given to St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Opal Ballard
Opal L. Ballard, 80, Mooresville, N.C., formerly of Celina, died Aug. 28, 2003 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville.
She was born Aug. 17, 1923, to James and Elizabeth Walling Rawlings. On Sept. 29, 1944, she married Edgar Ballard, who is deceased.
Survivors are two daughters, Darlene (Robert) Dutcher, Mooresville, Pamela (Leal) Balon, Celina; a sister, Nanny Rawlins, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are six brothers, Adam Rawlins, Raymond Rawlins, Floyd Rawlins, Lemon Rawlins, David Rawlins and Charlie Rawlins, and two sisters, Anneliza Wiseman and Lorene Rawlins.
She was a member of the Fairfield Church of God in Mooresville and a former member of Abounding Grace Church of God in Celina.
Services are at noon Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton.
Services are 10 a.m.-noon at the funeral home.

Cora Chilcoat
Cora L. Chilcoat, 91, 115 Williams St., St. Marys, died at 5:50 a.m. Aug. 29, 2003 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Feb. 15, 1912, in New London, to Charles and Mary (Hinkle) Howell. On Aug. 23, 1930, she married Charles Chilcoat, and he died May 31, 1988.
Survivors are three daughters, Mary Lou (Eugene) Wendeln, Sidney, Marie (Joseph) Wendeln, Minster, and Ramona (Arthur) Cook, St. Marys; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Orville Howell, and a grandson.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in St.Marys.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the donor's choice.

Mary Mueller
Mary M. Mueller, 85, Van Wert, died at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 28, 2003 at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Mercer county, to Rev. Clayton Manley and Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds Proffitt. On Feb. 2, 1942, she married Albert Lewis Mueller, who died Nov. 18, 1982.
Survivors are three daughters, Judi (Ralph) Richardson, Venedocia, M. Jean Mueller, Cincinnati and Dixie (Jack) Kuenning, St. Marys; a son, John A. (Kay), St. Marys, a sister, Edith (George) Walker, Rockford; a brother, Billy (Louise) Proffitt, Van Wert; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Benny Clayton; a sister, Pauline Clark; and three brothers, N.D. Proffitt, Rev. Carl Proffitt, and Glenn Proffitt.
She was a homemaker.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Burial will follow at Elm Grove cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
