Rebecca Wittwer
Rebecca L. Wittwer, 69, died at her Aster Drive, Wapakoneta, residence at 10:24 p.m. Aug. 30.
She was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Berne, Ind., to Fred and Earlene (Habegger) Nussbaum. On May 7, 1950, she married Donald R. Wittwer, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Dean A. and Patricia of Wapakoneta, and Michael L. and Maria of Hudson; two daughters and their husbands, Anita and James Penhorwood, Lima, and Donna J. and Jan Castanza, Bowling Green; and a daughter, Ann Bruning, Toledo; five sisters and their husbands, Evangeline and Clarence Steiner, Bernice and Merlin Sprunger, Cleora and Warren Sprunger, and Karen and Bob Hart, all of Berne, Ind., and Marjorie and Neil Horn, Noblesville, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Virginia Nussbaum, Berne, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Helen Jane Leichty and Lillian Herman, and a brother, Edward Nussbaum.
She was retired as secretary for Auglaize County Land & Soil Conversation District. She was a member and past director of the Auglaize County Historical Society, past president of Wapakoneta Woman's Club, past director with American Red Cross, former Girl Scout advisor and a den mother with Boy Scouts. She volunteered at Wapakoneta YMCA, Auglaize County Board of Elections and Wapakoneta City Schools and was a member of Knight Out for Moms Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta, and its Christian Couples and served as past treasurer of the Altar Guild, past president with the WSWS, youth group advisor and member of the finance committee.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, the Rev. G. Richard Bell officiating. Burial is at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta.

Ralph Eldridge
Ralph Eldridge, 66, 227 N. Augustus St., St. Marys, died Aug. 31 at 10:45 p.m. at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born April 14, 1934, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Preston and Nancy (Daniels) Eldridge, both deceased. On Sept. 1, 1956, he married Jeannette Martin, who survives at home.
Other survivors are a daughter, Rhonda Keesler, New Haven, Ind.; a son and his wife, Timothy and Tammy, New Knoxville; three brothers, Andrew, Milan, William, Tazewell, Tenn., and Fate, Big Bear, Calif.; two sisters and their husbands, Ollie and Orville Harrison, Cooks, Mich., and Virginia and Carl Martin, Arlington, Texas; a sister Addie Johnston, Bloomington, Ill.; and one grandchild.
Deceased are three brothers and four sisters.
He worked 10 years as a salesman at Jewel Tea Company, 20 years as a salesman at Sears in Celina and five years as custodian at Bunker Hill School in St. Marys. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Samaria Missionary Baptist Church in St. Marys. He was an ordained deacon at the church for the past 30 years and also was the church treasurer.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Jack Burns officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys.

Rita Holthaus
Rita Henrietta Holthaus, 75, 3990 Basinburg Road, Fort Loramie, died at 3:25 a.m. Sept. 1 at her residence.
She was born July 13, 1925, in Fort Loramie, to Bernard H. and Caroline (Prenger) Holthaus, both deceased.
Survivors are one sister, Catherine, Fort Loramie, three brothers, Marcellus, Lester and Victor, all of Fort Loramie, two brothers and their wives, Bernard and Mary, Anna, and Anthony and Roseann, Fort Loramie; and 34 nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Alfred, and a niece.
She was a homemaker and previously had worked at Autocraft Co. in Minster. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fort Loramie and a member of the church's St. Ann's Rosary Altar Society and Apostleship of prayer.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.

Richard Sealscott
Richard Sealscott, 91, 4750 Tama Road, Celina, died at 11:02 a.m. Sept. 1 at Van Wert County Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born April 16, 1909, in Mercer County, to John H. and Orel E. (Shively) Sealscott. On April 20, 1940, he married Mildred Meier, who died Sept. 6, 1991.
Survivors are a brother and his wife, Leo and Fern, St. Marys, and a brother James, Lima.
Deceased are three brothers, Harry, Paul and Edgar; and two sisters, Bessie Trisel and Mary E. Long.
He was retired and he and his wife previously had owned the Tama Home Store. He was a graduate of Celina High School and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He attended Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home in Celina. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens.

Richard Sealscott
Services for Richard Sealscott were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kenneth Baker officiated. Organist was Luella Smith, and Penny Canary sang. Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 conducted military graveside rites.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul E. Meyer and James Sealscott.
Pallbearers to Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, were Howard and Leo Sealscott, Terry and Keith Canary, Chuck Long and Leonard Phillips.
Marcene Burris
Marcene A. Burris, 72, 7120 Fleetfoot Road, Celina, died Sept. 4 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born April 30, 1928, in St. Peter, to Stephen and Rosella (Minnich) Braun. On Aug. 4, 1950, she married Lewis Burris, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Rick and Robin of Mendon, and a son, Randy of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Diana and Rick Boos, Celina; two brothers and their wives, Carl and Judy Braun, Celina, and Linus and Ginny Braun, Fort Recovery, and a brother, Ivo Braun, Portland, Ind.; three sisters and their husbands, Esther and Odus Marchal, Portland, Ind., Donna and Carl VanDenBosch, Coldwater, and Linda and Don Dues, Celina, and a sister, Rita Heyne, Celina; a sister-in-law, Viola Braun, Coldwater; and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Virgil Braun.
She was retired from the former Huffy Bicycle Corp., Celina, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, and its Altar-Rosary Society.

Hildreth Drees
Former Fort Loramie resident Hildreth E. Drees, 87, resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster, died at 9:05 p.m. Sept. 2 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 27, 1913, in Fort Loramie, to William and Rose (Burns) Daniel. On Sept. 22, 1931, she married John C. Drees, who died Nov. 23, 1996.
Survivors are five sons and their wives, Fred and Eileen of Russia, Bill and Lois of Vandalia, Ray and Carolyn, Louis and Jan, and Vernon and Ruth, all of Fort Loramie; a daughter and her husband, Norma and Tom Gaier, Fort Loramie; a brother, Paul Daniel, Covington; 29 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, a sister, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.

Lola Donovan
Lola B. Donovan, 71, 440 Touvelle St., Lot 26, Celina, died at 3:55 p.m. Sept. 2 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Speedwell, Tenn., to Clyde and Martha Jane (Marsee) Moyers. On Jan. 7, 1955, she married Ralph Donovan, who died Jan. 7, 1994.
Survivors are two daughters, Donna and Connie, both of Celina; two stepsons, Calvin L. of Lavern, Calif., and William H. of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Oscar Moyers, Speedwell, Tenn.; and a sister, Barbara Hensley, Greenville.
Deceased are a stepdaughter, Lois Jean Smith, and two brothers, Ray and Frank Moyers.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Davis Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Speedwell, Tenn.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

LaVern Bettinger
LaVern C. Bettinger, 67, died at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 5 at his residence at 4750 Siegrist-Jutte Road, Coldwater.
He was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Coldwater, to Arthur and Regina (Hemmelgarn) Bettinger. On July 4, 1960, he married Marlene Baltes, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Keith and Angie of Anna, and two sons, Brad and David, both of Coldwater; five daughters and their husbands, Nadine and Lou Kunk, Kristina and Eric Niekamp, and Kelley and Mark Baker, all of Coldwater, Dana and Jeff Grieshop, St. Anthony, and Kim and Scott Wendel, Sharpsburg; four brothers and their wives, Paul and Angie, Clete and Norma, Bob and Barb, and Carl and Ruth, all of Coldwater; three sisters and their husbands, Clarina and Seraphim Lefeld, St. Henry, Margie and Clete Griesdorn, St. Rose, and Grace and Paul Rutschilling, Coldwater, and a sister, Lucille Bergman, Fort Recovery; a sister-in-law, Rita of St. Henry; and 18 grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, William and Herman, a sister, Mary Ellen, and a brother-in-law, Harold Bergman.
He was retired from Stamco, New Bremen, and was a former employee of New Idea, Coldwater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135, American Legion Post 470, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 3025, all of Coldwater, and Knights of Columbus Council 1991.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.

Andrew Huff
Andrew L. Huff, 36, of Spencerville died of natural causes at 10:07 p.m. Sept. 4 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 13, 1964, in Lima, to Kenneth and Judy (Scherer) Huff, both who survive in Spencerville.
Other survivors include a sister and her husband, Patricia A. and Bill Wilgus, Spencerville; and a grandmother, Hattie Huff, Hollybush, Ky.
He was a student at Marimor School, Lima.
Private family services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Oran L. Thomas officiating. Burial is at Spencerville Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
