Marcella Stelzer
Marcella C. Stelzer, 88, resident of the Miller House in Celina, died at 4:59 p.m. Sept. 10, 2000 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born May 29, 1912, in Burkettsville, to Adam and Matilda (Hemmert) Quinter. On June 27, 1940, she married Henry Stelzer, who died Oct. 25, 1997.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Donna and Robert McDonough, Celina; a son and his wife, Larry and Joan of Celina, and a son, James M. of Celina; two brothers and their wives, Louis and Alice Quinter, Celina, and Mike and Delphina Quinter, St. Henry; a sister, Voneta Quinter, Celina; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Herman Quinter, and three sisters, Malinda Schlarman, Marie Jutte and Hilda Quinter.
She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Rosary and St. Vincent DePaul societies, Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.

James Tobe
James W. Tobe, 53, 3654 Greenbelt Ave., Dayton, died of natural causes at 7:45 p.m. Sept. 10, 2000 at Crestview Manor in Dayton.
He was born Dec. 14, 1946, in Celina, to Wilmer and Jane (Green) Tobe. His mother survives in St. Henry. On May 31, 1997, he married Cindy Hoelfich, who survives.
Other survivors include two stepsons, Brian of Dayton, and David of Greenville; and a sister and her husband, Nancy and Virgil Wilt, Wapakoneta.
Deceased is his father.
He was an accountant for the Dayton Bombers Hockey Organization, and was a former member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Albert Reed officiating. Burial is at St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, with a wake service at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Doris Weimert
Doris Mae Weimert, 58, died Sept. 9, 2000 at her residence at 810 Heather Drive, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 1, 1942, in Wapakoneta, to Charlie and Edna (Neace) Williams. Her mother survives in Wapakoneta. On Aug. 25, 1984, she married Thomas Weimert, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Steven and Robyn Sprague, Wapakoneta, and a son, Gregory Sprague, Wapakoneta; two daughters, Christina Sprague, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Kimberly Weimert, Celina; two stepdaughters, Vickie Steman and Carla Weimert, both of Lima; two stepsons, Vance Steman and Bruce Weimert, both of Lima; a sister and her husband, Jane and Francis Steinke, Uniopolis, and a sister, Lois Williams, Wapakoneta; two brothers and their wives, Don and Pat Williams, and John and Nila Williams, all of Van Wert, and a brother, Bob Williams, Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, a great-grandchild and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are her father and a brother, Charlie Williams.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial is at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, with a Christian prayer service at 8 p.m.
Joseph Michael
Joseph Eric Michael, 20, 1113 Nagel St., St. Marys, died from injuries sustained in an auto accident at 3:25 p.m. Sept. 10, 2000 on Ohio 66 and Deep Cut Road near Kossuth.
He was born June 20, 1980, in Bowling Green, Ky., to Joseph A. and Frances Darlene (Crabtree) Michael. His father and his wife, Cheryl, survive in St. Marys, and his mother survives in Gulfport, Miss.
Other survivors are a brother, Matthew Evans, St. Marys; a sister, Danielle of St. Marys; and grandparents, Rita Michael, St. Marys, and Lance A. and Linda M. Evans, New Knoxville.
Deceased is his sister Shannon, who died as a result of injuries in Sunday's accident.
He was employed at Plastipak in Jackson Center, and at Speedway Service Station in New Bremen. He was a member of The Way International, New Knoxville.
Private graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys, Mr. Michael Reeves officiating.

John Hart
John Hart, 73, 1488 Ohio 118, St. Henry, died at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 11, 2000 at Dayton Heart Hospital.
He was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Wendelin, to Thomas and Dora (Rammel) Hart. On June 10, 1950, he married Jean Keller, who survives. Other survivors are four brothers and their wives, Linus and Emma, George and Anna Marie, and Leo and Dorothy, all of Fort Recovery, and Al and Donna of Celina; two sisters and their husbands, Margaret and Andy Hemmelgarn, St. Henry, and Ann and Joe Berning, Minster.
Deceased is a sister, Mary Catherine Quinter.
He was retired from farming and the former Avco-New Idea in Coldwater. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial is at St. Wendelin Cemetery, Wendelin.

Shannon Michael
Shannon Marie Michael, 18, 1113 Nagel St., St. Marys, died at 4:25 p.m. Sept. 10, 2000 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Ohio 66 and Deep Cut Road near Kossuth on Sunday.
She was born Feb. 19, 1982, in Bowling Green, Ky., to Joseph A. and F rances Darlene (Crabtree) Michael. Her father and his wife, Cheryl, survive in St. Marys, and her mother survives in Gulfport, Miss.
Other survivors are a brother, Matthew Evans, St. Marys; a sister, Danielle, of St. Marys; and grandparents, Rita Michael, St. Marys, and Lance A. and Linda M. Evans, New Knoxville.
Deceased is a brother Joseph Eric, who died as a result of injuries sustained in the same accident Sunday.
She was a housekeeper for S & W Motel and Suites, St. Marys, and was a member of The Way International, New Knoxville.

Lillian Hellwarth
Lillian M. Hellwarth, 74, died at 5:10 p.m. Sept. 13, 2000 at Celina Manor Nursing Home, where she was a resident.
She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Shelby County to Harold and Emma Wibbeler Arnett. She married John E. Hellwarth who died Feb. 1, 1990.
Surviving is a sister-in-law, Jane Hennessey, Celina.
Deceased is a daughter, Mary Ann, and a brother, Bill Arnett.
She was a homemaker and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Celina.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Larry Shimp
Former Mercer County resident Larry C. Shimp, 54, 5530 Nesbitt Drive, Elida, died of natural causes at 9:45 p.m. Sept. 12, 2000 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born July 1, 1946, in St. Marys, to Charles A. and Martha Marie (Snyder) Shimp.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Tommy and Jodi of West Liberty, and Lonny and Faye of Fountain, Colo., and a son, Jason E. of Celina; a daughter, Amanda of Lima; a twin sister, Phyllis Trisel, Celina; a half-sister and her husband, Virginia and Bob Carl, Raymond, Wash.; eight grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are his parents.
He was a retired guard from the Lima Correctional Institution, and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Lima, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 370 in Lima, Post 5713 in Celina and the National Rifle Association. He was a graduate of Mendon-Union High School.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.

Davida Wilkins
Davida Wilkins, 83, 17180 Guilford Road, Venedocia, died at 9:40 a.m. Sept. 13, 2000 at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 5, 1917, in Van Wert County, to William John and Emma (Welker) Owens. On Oct. 5, 1938, she married Merle Edgar Wilkins, who died April 17, 1999.
Survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Leora and Stanley Macklin, Venedocia, and Sharleen and Warner Heckley, Dublin, Ind., and a daughter, Connie of Van Wert; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Emma Lee Welker.
She was a homemaker and a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Van Wert. She was a graduate of York High School.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial is at Wright Cemetery in Jennings Township.

Daniel Hoelscher
Daniel R. Hoelscher, Sr., 92, died at 12:58 p.m. Sept. 13, 2000 at his St. Marys residence.
He was born Dec. 6, 1907, in St. Sebastian, to Heinrich and Maria (Severt) Hoelscher. On April 5, 1932, he married Bernadine C. Prenger, who died Sept. 15, 1994.
Survivors are four daughters and their husbands, Doris and Leroy Rutschilling, St. Henry, Thelma and William Becker, Botkins, Jean and Ned Koenig, Lima, and Betty and Dan Jackson, Wapakoneta; five sons and their wives, Robert D. and Corla of Wapakoneta, William J. and Lou of Lima, Jerome E. and Jan of Celina, Daniel R. Jr. and Paulette, and Michael A. and Suzanne, all of St. Marys; 25 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Henry, Joseph and John, a sister, Maria, and a granddaughter.
He was a lifelong farmer, and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and Knights of St. John Command 313, Maria Stein.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David A. Heinl officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
