Hazel I. Stuehr, 78, 501 E. Fourth St., Winchester, Ind., formerly of Celina, died at 11 p.m. Sept. 19, 2002, at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital, Winchester, Ind.
She was born March 25, 1924, in Celina, to Joseph and Della (Brown) Andrews.
Surviving are a sister, Laura Gilmore, Celina.
Deceased are seven brothers, Cyrus, Irvin, John, Paul, Louis, Elmer and Warren Andrews, and a sister, Myrtle Dohme.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Winchester.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Thomas Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is noon-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Janice Stienecker
Janice D. Stienecker, 81, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of New Knoxville, died at 10 a.m. Sept. 18, 2002, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.
She was born June 23, 1921, in Columbus, to Harvey and Florence (Newport) Daum. On Feb. 9, 1960, she married James Stienecker and he died Sept. 21, 1981.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Dan and Cindy Ellenwood and Rex and Deanna Stienecker, all of Anna, and a son, Mike Ellenwood, Fort Wayne; a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Lonnie Jenneman, Fort Wayne; a brother-in-law and his wife, Don and Shirley Stienecker, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Meyer, all of New Knoxville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A sister, Jeanne Thackara, is deceased.
She retired from Crown Equipment Corp., New Bremen, and formerly attended First United Methodist Church, New Knoxville.
Graveside services are noon Saturday at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery near New Knoxville. An open house will follow at the home of Chris Leffel.

Joseph Turckes
Fort Recovery native Joseph W. Turckes, 80, of St. Clair Shores, Mich., died Sept. 18, 2002, at Bon Secoures Nursing Home, St. Clair Shores.
He was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Fort Recovery, to William and Theresia (Sudhoff) Turckes.
Surviving with his wife, Genevieve, are a son and his wife, Joseph Jr. and Karen; two daughters and their husbands, Catherine and Randall Stevens and Rosemary and David Barker; a brother and his wife, Raymond and Irene, and a brother, Richard; a sister and her husband, Rosemary and Charles Umstead; and seven grandchildren.
He was employed at AWT Metal Specialties in Roseville, Mich., for 41 years. He was a member of the Independent Order of the Foresters.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, St. Clair Shores, the Rev. John McGreevey officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. today at Kaul Funeral Home, St. Clair Shores. A 7 p.m. prayer service will be held there.

Harry Barber
Harry C. Barber, 65, 3301 Ohio 118, St. Henry, died at 12:45 p.m., Sept. 20, 2002, at Ohio State Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born June 13, 1937, in Akron, to Harry and Juanita (Walls) Barber. His mother survives in Van Wert. On Nov. 4, 1968, he married Thelma Griesdorn who survives.
Other survivors are three stepsons and their wives, Ronald and Bernie Gross, St. Henry, James and Mary Gross, Coldwater, and Daniel and Lisa Gross, St. Rose.
Also surviving are two sisters, two half sisters, two half brothers, and three stepgrandchildren.
Deceased is a stepgrandchild.
He was retired from Richardson Carpet in Celina, and was a member of St. Marys Church, Philothea, its Men's Holy Name Society of the Church and the church choir. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1991, Fraternal Order of Eagles #3025 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #5135, all of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military services conducted by the Coldwater V.F.W.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Paul Fronig
New Bremen native Paul E. Fronig, 83, 3877 N. Salem Road, Decatur, Ind., died Sept. 21, 2002, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ind.
He was born Oct. 6, 1918, in New Bremen, to Jacob A. and Anna (Grieshop) Fronig. On June 5, 1941, he married Dorothy Harlett and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter and her husband, Judy A. and Fred Ehlerding, Preble, Ind.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister are deceased.
He worked as superintendent at the Mercer County Elks Club and at Habegger Schafer Co., Decatur. He was a pitcher with the New York Giants professional baseball farm club. A World War II veteran, he served as a captain with the U.S. Army's 442nd Regimental Combat Team in Italy and France. Wounded five times, he received a Purple Heart with four oak leaf clusters as well as seven presidential citations. The Chicago Tribune saluted his U.S. Army heroics in a July 1945 edition.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Holy Name Society of the church and Knights of Columbus Council 864, all of Decatur; Mercer County Elks Golf Club, Celina, and American Legion Post 43. He also was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the Adams County Park Board.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Philip DeVolder officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur.
Calling is 5-9 p.m. today at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur. A rosary service will be held there at 7 p.m. today with a 10:30 a.m. prayer service planned Tuesday.
Robert Good
Robert Good, 50, 422 Anthony Drive, St. Henry, was killed at 1:50 a.m. Sept. 21, 2002, in a traffic accident at the intersection of Ohio 118 and Mercer-Darke County Line Road, south of St. Henry.
He was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Union City, Ind., to Glen and Roberta (Subler) Good. His mother survives in St. Henry. On Oct. 26, 1973, he married Connie Minch and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Rob of Minster, and Brett and Eric, both of St. Henry; a daughter, Mandie of St. Henry; two brothers and their wives, Chuck and Marge of St. Henry and Rick and Jo of Botkins; and two sisters and their husbands, Mary and Don Ontrop, St. Henry, and Jean and Walt Minch, New Bremen.
Other survivors include his father-in-law, Walter Minch, St. Henry; a brother-in-law and his wife, Rick and Nancy Minch, Fairview, N.C., and a brother-in-law, Jim Link, Bryant, Ind.; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Becky and Steve Simcoe, St. Henry.
Deceased are a brother, David; a sister, Dianne; and two brothers-in-law, Rodney and Ronnie Minch.
He formerly worked at Minster Machine Co. and was currently employed at Safeway Packaging, Minster. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry; Sons of the American Legion, Fort Recovery; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Minster; and the U.S. Army Reserves.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military services by the Fort Recovery American Legion Post.

Margaret Knauss
Margaret Knauss, 79, 1100 Myers Road, Celina, died at 7:40 a.m. Sept. 21, 2002, at Lima Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Kossuth, to Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Bigelow.
Surviving are a son, Fred of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter and her husband, Kay and Don Bruggeman, St. Marys; four half brothers, David Bigelow, Rockford, Rex Bigelow, Troy, Jerry Bigelow, Cleveland, and Dick Bigelow, Celina; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One grandchild is deceased.
She retired from Huffy Manufacturing Co., Celina.
Private services are planned with Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, in charge of arrangements.

Ollie Risch
Ollie F. Risch, 82, 5383 U.S. 127 South, Celina, a longtime used car dealer, died at 6:05 p.m. Sept. 21, 2002, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born Dec. 21, 1919, in Hennessey, Okla., to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Risch. In October 1945, he married Marcella Simmons and she died in April 1994.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Tom and Connie of Coldwater, and a son, Ron of Celina; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Jerome, Andrew, Albert and Bernard, and three sisters, Elizabeth, Marie and Rose.
He owned and operated Ollie & Sons Used Cars for 45 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, and a 57-year member of the Celina American Legion Post.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Brenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens.

William Youngs
William T. Youngs, 80, 511 E. Anthony St., Celina, died at 7:56 a.m. Sept. 21, 2002, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born July 4, 1922, in St. Marys, to Elmer H. and Mary (White) Youngs. On May 1, 1946, he married Corinne Mallory and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons and their wives, Bill and Carol and Tom and Margaret, all of Toledo, and Jim and Kathy of Yukon, Okla.; two daughters and their husbands, Diana and Tom Finkelmeier, Wapakoneta, and Kathy and Steve Kuhn, Celina; two sisters, Kathryn Luecke and Mary Danaher, both of St. Marys; and 14 grandchildren.
Two brothers, John and Elmer, are deceased.
He was a retired Prudential Insurance agent and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of Moose, all of Celina, and Northmoor Country Club, St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.

Burdette Huddlestun
Burdette E. Huddlestun, 95, formerly of Celina, died at 7:20 p.m. Sept. 23, 2002, at the Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community Living Center, St. Marys.
She was born Oct. 20, 1906, in Celina, to Leander and Mae (Stein) Cole. On May 2, 1926, she married Ralph Huddlestun and he died Oct. 1, 1986.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Helen and Junior Robbins, St. Marys; a sister, Alberta Anderson, Greenville; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Bob Cole, and two sisters, Dorothy Coates and Mildred Hamlett.
A retired bookkeeper, she had worked at JCPenney Co., Weber Optical and Celina Group Insurance Co., all of Celina. She also worked 16 years as a teller at First National Bank in Celina. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Shakespeare Club, both of Celina. She had served as past matron of the Celina Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Revs. Robert Metheny and Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
