Dwight Miller
Dwight V. Miller, 73, formerly of Mendon, died at 5:35 p.m. Sept. 22, 2002, at Vancrest Care Center, Van Wert.
He was born Sept, 23, 1928, in Spencerville, to Thomas Wesley and Mabel (Boroff) Miller.
Surviving are three brothers and their wives, Harold and Fern of Van Wert, Don and Betty of Mendon, and Fred and Mary Ellen of Wapakoneta.
Two sisters, Freda Highly and Evelyn Miller, are deceased.
A 1946 graduate of Spencerville High School, he had been an accountant with Baker Auto in St. Marys for 18 years. He was a member of Olive Chapel Church, Converse.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Revs. Dave Ray and Ray Feeck officiating.
Calling is 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the Cancer Society of Mercer and Van Wert counties.
Robert Good
Robert Good, 50, 422 Anthony Drive, St. Henry, was killed at 1:50 a.m. Sept. 21, 2002, in a traffic accident at the intersection of Ohio 118 and Mercer-Darke County Line Road, south of St. Henry.
He was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Union City, Ind., to Glen and Roberta (Subler) Good. His mother survives in St. Henry. On Oct. 26, 1973, he married Connie Minch and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Rob of Minster, and Brett and Eric, both of St. Henry; a daughter, Mandie of St. Henry; two brothers and their wives, Chuck and Marge of St. Henry and Rick and Jo of Botkins, and one brother, Keith of Fort Recovery; and two sisters and their husbands, Mary and Don Ontrop, St. Henry, and Jean and Walt Minch, New Bremen.
Other survivors include his father-in-law, Walter Minch, St. Henry; a brother-in-law and his wife, Rick and Nancy Minch, Fairview, N.C., and a brother-in-law, Jim Link, Bryant, Ind.; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Becky and Steve Simcoe, St. Henry.
Deceased are a brother, David; a sister, Dianne; and two brothers-in-law, Rodney and Ronnie Minch.
He formerly worked at Minster Machine Co. and was currently employed at Safeway Packaging, Minster. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry; Sons of the American Legion, Fort Recovery; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Minster; and the U.S. Army Reserves.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military services by the Fort Recovery American Legion Post.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Esther Stukenborg
Esther M. Stukenborg, 80, 201 Glenwood Drive, Greenville, formerly of St. Marys, died Sept. 23, 2002, at Dayton Heart Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1922, in Mercer County, to Alfred and Mable (Joseph) Sanders. Her husband, Cyril Stukenborg, died in 1999.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Dale and Ella Mae Michael, New Weston; two daughters and their husbands, Kay and Paul Siefring, Greenville, and Sharon and Dale Wissman, Russia; three brothers, Keith, Roger and Eugene Sanders, all of Ansonia; four sisters, Marcella Bonifield, Salamonia, Ind., Margret Oldiges, Winter Garden, Fla., Ruby Singer and Becky McEldowney, both of New Weston; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, John and Melvin Sanders and Wayne C. Bonifield.
A homemaker, she was a member of First Baptist Church, St. Marys.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Oliver Funeral Home, Greenville, the Rev. Mark Foor officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Greenville.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Phyllis Williams
Former Rockford resident Phyllis Williams, 77, of Garrett, Ind., died Sept. 20, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Rockford, to John and Mae (Custer) Hiles. She married Bud Williams in August 1943 and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Dee Ansett, Pleasant Lake, Ind.; and a niece, Lois Snavely, Celina.
Three sisters and a brother are deceased.
Services will be held at National Cemetery in Busknell, Fla., at the convenience of the family. Services also are planned in Garrett at a later date.
Clarence Art
Clarence P. Art, 93, 1014 Clover Lane, Celina, died at 3:50 a.m. today, Sept. 25, 2002, at The Gardens in Celina.
He was born Dec. 11, 1908, in Cincinnati, to John Bernard and Anna (Winkeljohn) Art. On July 19, 1932, he married Emma Lee Pulskamp and she died March 15, 2001.
Surviving are a son and his wife, C. Bernard and Jocelyn of New Bremen, and a son, Kenneth E. of Celina; four daughters and their husbands, Rosmarie and Jerry Amato, Celina, Dorothy Lee and Jerry Backus, Delphos, Kathleen and Charles Gorsuch, Hendersonville, N.C., and Georgiann and William Nungester, Spencerville, and a daughter, Patricia Hoyng, Celina; 23 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Henry Art, is deceased.
He had worked as a letter carrier at the Celina Post Office for 36 years. A 1927 graduate of Immaculate Conception Catholic High School, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1800, both of Celina, and the Rural Letter Carriers of America.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Richard R. Riedel officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.

Funeral Mass for Clarence P. Art was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Revs. Richard R. Riedel and George Blasick officiated. Organist Cindy Karper was accompanied by the Resurrection Choir.
Pallbearers to St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery were grandsons Vince Amato, Dave Backus, Doug and Rick Hoyng, Jeff Gorsuch and Andy Nungester.
Arrangements were handled by W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
Evelyn Hatcher
Evelyn Juanita Hatcher, 75, 1107 Parkway Drive, St. Marys, died at 3:50 a.m. Sept. 25, 2002, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born July 31, 1927, in Careysville, to Steven and Lucille (Norris) Brandyberry. On June 17, 1946, she married William Lott Hatcher and he survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Mike and Becci of Celina, and a son, Byron Wayne of Rockford; a daughter and her husband, Kathy and Steve Nevergall, Celina; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two daughters, Sherry Hatcher and Carla Lindemuth; a brother, Steve Brandyberry; and a sister, Barbara Scott.
She retired as a supervisor at the former St. Marys Cotton Mill and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 Auxiliary, St. Marys.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Darrell Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Evelyn Hatcher

Jessie Springer
Jessie L. Springer, 66, 315 Morton St., Celina, died at 1:55 a.m. Sept. 27, 2002, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born June 5, 1936 in Celina to David and Bernice Kendall Sheets. Her mother survives in Mendon. On April 26, 1956, she married Norman D. Springer, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Mark and Regina and Kevin and Lori, all of Celina; one son, J.D. of Celina; two brothers and their wives, David and Diane Sheets and Veryl and Marilyn Sheets, all of Mendon; a sister and her husband, Amy Lou and Stanley Baker of Elgin; one sister, Marilyn Sheets of Mendon; and six grandchildren.
She was retired from Thompson's Cafe, where she had worked for 18 years. She was a member of Celina Baptist Temple.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery.

George Yocum
George J. Yocum, 84, Mendon, died at 4:16 a.m. Sept. 27, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Nov. 30, 1917 in Rockford to Merl and Hazel (Stover) Yocum. He married Donna Marie Anderson, and she died Nov. 11, 1988.
Survivors are three sons and their wives, Forest and Lynda of Canal Winchester, Gene and Angela of Spencerville, Dean and Marilyn of Marysville; two sisters, Doris Piper and Lucille Reed, both of Rockford; and six grandchildren.
A brother, Russell, is deceased.
He retired from Avco New Idea and also was a farmer. He was a member of the New Horizons Church in Rockford.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at the Christian Church of Rockford, the Rev. Kenneth Whetstone officiating. Burial will follow at Stringtown Cemetery.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
