Michele Giunta
Celina native Michele A. Giunta, 39, of Willoughby, died Sept. 24, 2003, at her residence. Death was due to natural causes.
She was born Sept. 15, 1964, in Celina, to Larry and Patricia Huston. Her father survives in Las Vegas, Nev.
Other survivors include her husband, Anthony J. Giunta Jr. of Willoughby; two sons, Anthony J. III and Dominic J., both at home; a brother, Bradley A. Huston, Pickerington; and a grandmother, Marceta McCullough, Celina.
She had been employed as a dental hygienist in the office of Drs. Fred Fromm and Ken Nevar for 20 years. She was a Celina High School graduate and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Willoughby, and Grant Elementary School Parent-Teacher Council.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Calling is 3-6 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Brickman & Sons Funeral Home, Euclid.

Billie Houdeshell
Billie Jean Houdeshell, 69, 440 Touvelle St., Lot 22, Celina, died at 7:55 a.m. Sept. 25, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Morganfield, Ky., to Shirley and Lorene Coney Carrier. In November 1952, she married James Potter who died in July 1972. On Oct. 2, 1976, she married Glen Houdeshell who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Rick (Deb) Potter, Eaton; two daughters, Barb Potter, Muncie, Ind., and Sherrill (Jack) Blakeman, Eaton; five stepchildren, two brothers, Wayne (Betty) Carrier, Morganfield, and Mike (Ginger) Carrier, Wavely, Ky.; a sister, Janet (Paul) Hartman, Cincinnati; a sister-in-law, Dianne Carrier, Morganfield; four grandchildren, a great-grandson, 14 stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was co-owner of The Blockyard in St. Marys and worked at Grand Lake Builders Supply, St. Marys, and Carter Villa Restaurant, Celina. She was a graduate of St. Vincent Academy in Morganfield and a member of Church of the Visitation and St. Anne's Society, both of Eaton.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home, Morganfield. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Morganfield.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, and after 10 a.m. Monday at the Morganfield funeral home.

Anna Johnson
Anna Johnson, 82, formerly of 1923 Kingsbury Drive, St. Marys, died at 1:10 p.m. Sept. 25, 2003, at St. Marys Senior Village.
She was born July 23, 1921, in Dusseldorf, Germany, to Frederick and Anna Dumschatt. Her husband, Keith Johnson, is deceased.
Surviving are three sons, Heiko (Barbara) Pollem, San Diego, Calif., Harry (Paulette) Pollem, Albuquerque, N.M., and Frank (June) Mitchell, Rochester Hills, Mich.; a daughter, Anna Luedeke, St. Marys; a brother, two sisters, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Wolfgang Pollem, and two sisters are deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of God in St. Marys.
Services are 7 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating. Burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
Calling is 4-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Jay Pyle
Jay Pyle, 57, 126 S. Buckeye St., Celina, died at 2:15 a.m. Sept. 19, 2003, at his residence. Death was due to cancer.
He was born Dec. 21, 1945, in Portland, Ind., to Marlin and Reita Shepherd Pyle. His mother survives in Indianapolis, Ind. On Jan. 3, 1970, he married Mary Bechtol who is deceased. On April 6, 1991, he married Jill Shade who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Valerie Cisco, St. Marys, Samantha (Kent) Bickel, Bryant, Ind., and Danielle (John) Emenhiser, Fort Wayne, Ind.; three brothers, James (Billie) of Indianapolis, Ind., John and Joe, both of Portland, Ind.; two sisters, Janice Gingerich, Albany, Ind., and Judy (Steve) Malinowski, Portland; and five grandchildren.
He was employed in the assembly department at Amcast Automotive. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating.
Calling is after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Lee Schmehl
Lee R. Schmehl, 75, 720 W. Oliver St., St. Marys, died at 9:25 a.m. Sept.25, 2003, at his residence.
He was born March 15, 1928, in St. Marys, to Vernon and Ireta Ralston Schmehl. On Nov. 20, 1948, he married Delores Etter who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jerry, Bruce (Carol) and Tony (Renee), all of St. Marys; four daughters, Vickie (Wesley) Lewis, Lima, Lee Ann (Kurtis) Jenkins, St. Marys, Kristine (Jerry) Freels, New Bremen, and Ireta (Jeffrey) Hegemier, Hudson; a brother, David (Jean) of St. Marys; a sister, Wilda Miars, also of St. Marys; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A son, Terry, and a grandchild are deceased.
He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 22 years of service. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a 1947 graduate of Memorial High School and a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Dale Mangen officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Walter Seger
Walter W. Seger, 70, 2771 Cardo Road, Fort Loramie, died at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 24, 2003, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
He was born March 6, 1933, in Fort Loramie, to Anthony and Pauline Ernst Seger. On Nov. 22, 1956, he married Shirley A. Wente and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Tony (Pam) of Sidney, Steve (Karen) of Houston, and Aaron (Missy) of Russia; two daughters, Brenda (Jack) Hoying, Fort Loramie, and Gail (Randy) Wendel, Osgood; a brother, Cy (Evelyn) of Fort Loramie; three sisters, Rita Zavisilon, Denver, Colo., Vera (Tom) Schwartz, Fort Loramie, and Velma (Jack) Friemering, Celina; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He retired as a supervisor at Minster Machine Co. after 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, past commander of American Legion Post 355 and an original member of the Legion Chicken Fryers, all of Fort Loramie. He also was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Minster, and the Minster Machine 25 Year Club.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with the Legion conducting military rites.
Calling is 1-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Brian Steinke
Brian Robert Steinke, 29, Eastview Drive, Fort Loramie, died at 11:52 p.m. Sept. 24, 2003, in the emergency room at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born May 17, 1974, in St. Marys, to Charles and Armella Bills Steinke. They survive in Fort Loramie.
Also surviving are five brothers, Robert of Fort Loramie, Roger (Lisa) of New Bremen, Michael (Annette) of St. Louis, Mo., Brother Thomas Paul of Petesham, Mass., and Mark (Lisa) of Sidney.
He attended Shelby Hills School for 12 years and was employed at S & H Products in Sidney. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.
Funeral Mass is 1 p.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.

Louise Boerger
Louise Boerger, 86, 10755 Friemering Road, Fort Loramie, died at 11:55 p.m. Sept. 23, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born Jan. 24, 1917, in St. Patrick, to Henry and Anna Schmitmeyer Hoying. On May 3, 1947, she married Alfred Boerger who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David (Deborah) of Orchard Lake, Mich., and Luke (Beverly) of Russia; three daughters, Sara (Donald) Webb, Bellbrook, Ann (Woody) Joslin, Maplewood, and Lucy (LeRoy) Gaier, Fort Loramie; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include six brothers, Hank (Nancy) Hoying, Dayton, Jerry Hoying, Greenville, Tony (Mary) Hoying and Gene (Pat) Hoying, all of Sun City, Fla., Lindy (Mary) Hoying, Fort Loramie, and Pat (Patricia) Hoying, Minster; and three sisters, Regina Aselage, Anna, Anna Marie Eilerman, Minster, and Bernadette Gaier, Sidney.
A brother, Edwin Hoying, is deceased.
She was a homemaker and a former employee of Frigidaire in Dayton and Autocraft Box Factory in Minster. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, where she taught CCD classes for 26 years, the Apostleship of Prayer, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Shelby County Farm Bureau and Shelby County Right to Life.

Floyd Craft
Floyd E. Craft, 79, 2115 Celina Road, St. Marys, died at 2:15 a.m. Sept. 24, 2003, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Bluffton.
He was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Glynwood, to Edgar and Flora Flarida Craft. On Nov. 22, 1939, she married Delores Wilkens who died Feb. 19, 2002.
Surviving are two sons, Roger (Jacqueline) of Lima and Tom of St. Marys; a daughter, Janet (John) Riggenbach, Columbus Grove; his stepmother, Jwilva Craft, St. Marys; two half brothers, David (Lynn) and James (Sheila), all of St. Marys; two half sisters, Carol (Bob) Waesch, St. Marys, and Donna (David) Shreiner, Millersburg; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are a son, Harvey Edgar; a brother, Dale; and a grandson.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and did funeral home and ambulance work for Yoder Funeral Home, Long and Folk Funeral Home and Miller Funeral Home. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church and American Legion Post 323, both of St. Marys, the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary and the Holiday Ramblers. He also was a former member of the Lima Motorcycle Club.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Phyllis McDonnell
Phyllis Irene Winner McDonnell, 72, of Marsing, Idaho, died Sept. 23, 2003, of injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Marsing.
She was born in 1930, in Middleberg, to Sherman and Emmie Voke Winner. In 1952, she married Hull Taylor who died in 1967. In 1971, she married Ron McDonnell who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Steve and Mike (Carolyn), all of Nampa, Idaho, and Gary (Cindy) of Marsing; five daughters, Peggy (Ralph) Hutchison, Nampa, Ruthi (Bruce) Caba and Debbie (Dan) Davis, all of Marsing, MariAnne (Jeff) Woodman, Meridian, Idaho, and Amy Taylor, at home; and two sisters, Betty (Dick) Bunnell, Springfield, and Peggy (Harvey) Watkins, Celina.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Marsing Community/Legion Hall Center.
