Joyie Stansberry
Joyie A. Stansberry, 62, 1502 E. Livingston St., Lot 5, Celina, died at 7:42 a.m. Sept. 29, 2001 at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima.
She was born Aug. 5, 1939, in Keokuk, Iowa, to James and Fern (Rice) Bryant. On June 5, 1969, she married Gary Stansberry and he died April 26, 1999.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Shawn and Tina Daisy and Shane and Summer, all of Celina; four sons, Rick Daisy and Jason, both of Celina, Chuck Daisy, Kenton, and Gary of Mendon; one daughter and her husband, Sally and John McDermitt, Celina; two daughters, Deb Hammonf and Norma Jo, both of Celina; a brother, James Bryant, Keokuk, Iowa; two sisters, Laura Besick, Bettendorf, Iowa, and Betty Novak, Davenport, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Lester, and a brother, Sonny Bryant.
She was employed as a nurse's aide at Ashton Terrace in Celina for the past 15 years.
Services are 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating.

Harry Stoner
Harry L. "Butch" Stoner, 55, 328 W. Third St., Portland, Ind., died Sept. 29, 2001 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born June 24, 1946, in Fort Wayne, to Evan and Doris (Safford) Stoner. On March 26, 1996, he married Vicki Henry and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Brian S. and Jessica of Berne, Ind.; a daughter, Sara L. of Angola, Ind.; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Tonya and Richard Foster, Union City, Ind., and Julie and Jason Weatherhead, Portland, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Brooke Henry, at home; a brother and his wife, Barry and Deb Stoner, Geneva, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren.
He had worked for the Portland Police Department for 18 years. He also had served as manager of Portland Lumber Co. for 10 years, worked as production manager for Createc Corp. of Portland and worked as a self-employed contractor before his illness. He was a member of the Portland Loyal Order of Moose.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Portland chapel of Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev. Hugh Kelly officiating. Burial will be at Salamonia Cemetery, Salamonia, Ind.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Raymond Thobe
Raymond A. Thobe, 92, formerly of 00154 Fort Recovery-Minster Road, Minster, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, where he had been a resident for 28 months.
He was born Dec. 22, 1908, in Maria Stein, to John and Rosa (Vehorn) Thobe. On June 10, 1936, he married Alvina P. Post and she died May 16, 1999.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Roger and Carolyn, Maria Stein, and Dennis and Nancy, Minster; four daughters and their husbands, Velma and William Johnston, San Pedro, Calif., Madonna and Anthony Gehret, Versailles, Jane and Lester Schmitmeyer, Fort Loramie, and Lucy and David Harker, Dayton; a daughter, Roberta Will, Celina; a daughter-in-law, Theresa, Versailles; a sister, Alvina Hausfeld, Minster; two sisters-in-law, Winkie and Ida, both of Fort Recovery; 26 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Ronald; a son-in-law, Charles Will; a grandson, Craig; five brothers and four sisters.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, and the Men's Sodality of the church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Raymond Wenning
Raymond H. Wenning, 79, 621 W. Main St., Coldwater, died at 7:40 a.m. Sept. 30, 2001 at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Coldwater, to John and Mary (Eyink) Wenning. On Jan. 7, 1944, he married Helen O. Bertke and she died July 7, 2000.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Bill and Marilyn, Coldwater; two daughters and their husbands, Judy and Irvin Kelch, Russia, and Ginny and Virgil Post, Fort Recovery, and a daughter, Sue Wenning, Russia; a sister and her husband, Dorothy and Alvin Uhlenhake, North Baltimore, and two sisters, Luella Kitzmiller, Celina, and Ellen Bertke, Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann, Maria Stein; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a great-grandchild, six brothers and three sisters.
He was a railroad retiree and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.

Agnes Adams
Agnes Viola Adams, 92, Lebanon, the wife of a former Celina minister, died Sept. 30, 2001 at Otterbein-Lebanon.
She was born April 30, 1909, in Kokomo, Ind., to Leslie Otto and Minnie (Houser) McVey. Her husband, the Rev. Walter C. Adams Sr., is deceased.
Survivors are a son, the Rev. W. Charles Adams Jr., Cherokee Village, Ark.; a sister, Pearl Shipman, Lebanon; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Mary Jo Bader; a sister, Gladys Price; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Otterbein-Lebanon Chapel, the Rev. Keith R. Eipper officiating. Burial is at Otterbein Cemetery.
Calling is 1:30-2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.

Blanche Andres
Blanche E. Andres, 69, 208 E. Fulton St., Celina, died Oct. 1, 2001 at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Mercer County, to Forest and Loree (Kugel) Kittle. On Jan. 11, 1954, she married James Andres who survives.
Other survivors are a son, John Kirk of Celina; a brother and his wife, Leonard and Martha Kittle and a brother, Murrel Kittle, all of Celina; two sisters and their husbands, Virginia and John Zumberge and Jerry and Philip Fishbaugh, and two sisters, Helen Henkle and Mary Ann Kittle, all of Celina; a brother-in-law, Philip of Coldwater; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Kittle, Celina.
Deceased are three sons, David Lewis, Mark and Daniel Lewis; a brother, Elmer Kittle; and a sister, Carolyn Sue Sloan.
She was retired from Dettmer Hospital, Troy, and had worked at the former Gibbons Hospital, Celina, and as a nursing assistant at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater. She was a member of Erastus United Methodist Church.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Dungan officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marcus Meiring
Marcus N. "Mike" Meiring, 77, 287 N. Hanover St., Minster, died at 9:15 p.m. Sept. 30, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, where he had been a patient three weeks.
He was born July 24, 1924, in Minster, to Frank and Rose (Jacob) Meiring. On July 23, 1949, he married Irene Vehorn who survives.
Other survivors are three sons and their wives, Michael and Terese, Gary and Peg and Ken and Connie, all of Minster; four daughters and their husbands, Carol and George McMasters and Cindy and Tom Brown, all of Minster, Karen and Eric Coffman, Heiskell, Tenn., and Sandy and Ted Gudorf, Clayton, and a daughter, Mary Rohr, Minster; two brothers and their wives, Roland and Dottie and Elton and Esther, all of Minster; a sister and her husband, Betty and Tom Heitbrink, Chickasaw; and 16 grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother and three sisters.
He was the retired owner and operator of Minster Fleetwing. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the 12th Armor Division in the European Theater. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Travelers Protective Association, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kiwanis Club and Oktoberfest Committee, all of Minster, and the Beer Can Collectors of America. He had served as treasurer of the St. Augustine Orphan Society for 38 years and was grand marshal of the Minster Oktoberfest Parade in 1997.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial with full military rites is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Michael Roth
Michael John Roth, 36, 10224 Fulton St., Mercer, was found dead at his residence around 1:45 p.m. Sept. 28, 2001. An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death.
He was born Sept. 21, 1965, in Orlando, Fla., to John and Sandy (Doyle) Roth who survive in Celina.
Other survivors are a son, Joshua of Celina; a daughter, Alyssa of Coldwater; and a sister and her husband, Julie and Jon Yaney, St. Marys.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
Private funeral services were held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiated. Burial will take place at a later date.
Contributions can be made to the Celina City Schools with donations to be divided equally between the Gene Green and Celina Education Association scholarships.
Louis Schockman
Louis M. Schockman, 84, 116 N. Hanover St., Minster, formerly of St. Henry, died at 10:20 a.m. Oct. 1, 2001 at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
He was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Coldwater, to Albert and Christine (Huwer) Schockman. In 1939, he married Lucille Wehrkamp who died in 1987. In 1989, he married Wilma Meyer who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Bob and Marilyn of St. Henry; a daughter and her husband, Phyllis and Dan Westgerdes, St. Henry; a stepson and his wife, Thomas and Dana Meyer, Celina; a brother and his wife, Leo and Betty Schockman, Celina; seven grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers and a sister.
He was the former manager and owner of Schockman Lumber Co., St. Henry. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, both of Minster, and the Mercer County Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was a former member of the St. Henry School Board and St. Henry Fire Department and past president of the St. Henry Development Corp.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry Catholic Church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Stella Wenning
Coldwater native Stella C. Wenning, 84, Eaton, died Sept. 28, 2001 at Brookhaven Nursing Center, Brookville.
She was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Coldwater, to Herman H. and Theresa (Timmerman) Bruns. Her husband, Isadore H. Wenning, died Feb. 8, 1984.
Survivors are three sons and their wives, Larry Lee and Brenda, Lakeland, Fla., Joseph and Lee Ann, Greenville, and Richard L. and Virginia, Eaton; a daughter and her husband, Patricia A. and Galen Michael, Edwardsburg, Mich.; a brother, Al Bruns, Celina; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, a stepgreat-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Roger Wenning; two brothers, Werner and Clarence Bruns; and three sisters, Alvera Fink, Shirley Walton and Marcella Dorsten.
She was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, Eaton.
Funeral Mass was 10 a.m. today at the church, the Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiated. Burial was at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.
