Thomas Gehle
Celina native Thomas E. Gehle, 58, 404 Beckenham Lane, Greenville, S.C., died at 2:05 p.m. Oct. 2, 2001 at Greenville Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
He was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Celina, to Raymond and Carrie (Miesse) Gehle. On June 25, 1983, he married Delaine Wrightmire who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Bill and Maureen Michaels, Milwaukee, Wis., and David and Lisa Michaels, Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter and her husband, Linda and John Lewis, Columbus; a brother and his wife, Paul and Joy of Rockford, and a brother, Harold of Celina; two sisters and their husbands, Linda and David Wenning and Shiela and Jeffrey Houseworth, all of Celina, and two sisters, Margie Sherrill, Toledo, and Norma of Celina; and three grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Robert.
He was a computer operator at Reynolds & Reynolds in Celina from 1965-1969, worked at the Celina Group from September 1969-1986 and at Airfoil Textron, Lima, from 1986-1994. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served from 1962-1965. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, all of Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.

Roderick Wierwille
Roderick C. "Rick" Wierwille, 48, 525 S. Second St., Coldwater, died of natural causes at 12:40 a.m. Oct. 2, 2001 at Celina Manor Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 26, 1953, in Coldwater, to Charles and Shirley (Laut) Werling, who are deceased.
Survivors are a brother and his wife, Michael and Lisa of Encina, Calif., and a brother, John C. of New Bremen; a sister and her husband, Kay and Mike Pax, Coldwater; a stepfather, Laverne Werling, Coldwater; a stepmother, Joan of New Bremen; two stepbrothers and their wives, John C. and Kathryn of Cincinnati, and Bill and Peg Werling, Coldwater, and a stepbrother, Eric Weirwille of Hilliard; and two stepsisters and their husbands, Bev and Russ Badget, Piqua, and Sandy and Steve Nash, W. Va.
He was a medical researcher with the University of Maryland/John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. John W. Tostrick officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Stella Broering
Stella M. Broering, 92, St. Henry, died Oct. 3, 2001 at The Gardens at St. Henry, where she resided.
She was born Feb. 6, 1909, in St. Patrick, to Henry and Emma (Huber) Kaiser. On June 12, 1934, she married Lawrence Broering and he died Dec. 12, 1997.
Surviving are six sons and their wives, Paul and Nancy, Elmer and Barb and Luke and Barb, all of St. Henry, Dan and Janice of Philothea, and Robert and Betty and Walter and Shirley, all of Cranberry Prairie; three daughters and their husbands, Mary and Louis Grieshop, Versailles, and Irene and George Speelman and Jean and Orville Borgert, all of Minster; a son-in-law and his wife, Dennis and Sharon Ontrop, Fort Recovery; a brother and his wife, Herb and Rosemary Kaiser, Coldwater, and a brother, Edward Kaiser, Fort Recovery; a sister and her husband, Rosella and Walter Hierholzer, Burkettsville, and a sister, Marcella Hemmelgarn, Celina; 56 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren, 30 stepgreat-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are a daughter, Esther Ontrop; a son-in-law, Vernon Gehret; five brothers, a sister, a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Cranberry Prairie, the Ladies Sodality of the church and the Catholic Knights of America, Cassella.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Destiny Sullivan
Destiny Springer Sullivan, 10 hours old, 409 W. Fayette St., Celina, died at 1 a.m. Oct. 3, 2001 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
She was born Oct. 2 in Dayton, to Grant Sullivan and Amanda Springer. They survive in Celina.
Other survivors are the grandparents, David J. and Kathy Springer and Jimmy and Maria Sullivan, all of Celina, and Gary and Julie Garman, St. Marys; the great-grandparents, Ronald and Betty Hilgefort and Don and Dorthy Springer, all of Celina, and Ralph and Emilie Pickering and Ronald and Wilma Savage, all of St. Marys; and a great-great-grandmother, Rita Fenner, Piqua.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Robert Lloyd
Robert L. Lloyd, 79, Rockford, died at 6 a.m. Oct. 3, 2001 at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, where he had been a patient the past week.
He was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Rockford, to John W. and Hazel I. (Schultz) Lloyd. On Sept. 3, 1946, he married Betty Ruth Shindeldecker and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Barry and Linda of Swanton; a daughter and her husband, Barb and Chuck Painter, Celina; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, J. Richard Lloyd, and a sister, Eleanor Lloyd.
He owned and operated Lloyd's Motor Sales and Lloyd Oil Co. in Rockford for more than 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of Rockford American Legion Post 508, the Highway Patrol Auxiliary and Shanes Lodge 377, Free & Accepted Masons. He was also past chief of the Rockford Fire Department.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Karen Long officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Herman Wilges Jr.
Herman Wilges Jr., 78, Fernwood Drive, Wapakoneta, died at 12:05 a.m. Oct. 4, 2001 at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Cridersville, to Herman E. and Emma T. (Bishop) Wilges. On June 7, 1947, he married Mary L. Ahrns and she died July 9, 1997.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Joseph M. and Mary of Wapakoneta, Douglas H. and Christine of Boulder, Colo., and Charles E. and Kimberly of Celina; three daughters and their husbands, Victoria L. and Gordon Humes and Kathryn A. and Robert Knoch, all of Wapakoneta, and Emily S. and Jerry Urick, Auburn, Ind.; two brothers and their wives, Richard and Lou and Paul and Marilyn, all of Wapakoneta, and two brothers, Robert of Wapakoneta and Orville Dean of Brookville; a sister, Donna Richardson, Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law, Helen Wilges, Celina; six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Charles Wilges, and a sister, Lucille Bitler.
He was a cabinet maker and owner of Wood Form Co., Wapakoneta. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, the Rev. William Eilerman officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Moulton. The Wapakoneta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post will conduct military graveside rites.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakonta. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Helen Karch
Helen M. Karch, 95, a resident of the Otterbein Retirement Home, St. Marys, formerly of 4543 Ohio 29, Celina, died at 11:05 a.m. Oct. 4, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born April 16, 1906, in Portland, Ind., to Noah and Mary Belle (Wiggs) Wysong. On April 18, 1928, she married Paul Karch and he died May 15, 1986.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Miriam and Lawrence Hone, Lima, and Betty Lou and Carl Stuber, Fremont; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She had worked as a clerk at Rentzsch's Department Store, as bookkeeper at Jackson & Bower and at Turicci Brothers' Soda Shop, all formerly of Celina. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and past matron of the Order of Eastern Stars, all of Celina.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Revs. Robert Metheny and Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Viola C. Field
Viola C. Field, 77, Rockford, died at 2 p.m. Oct. 3, 2001 at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, where she had been residing.
She was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Chicago, Ill, to Nels Lundborg and Libby Hulla. In October of 1945, she married Charles Field, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Robert Field of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Michael Field of Atwater, Calif.; David Field of Sebastopol, Calif.; and Neil Field of Rockford; and three grandchildren.
She was a retail clerk for many years and has lived in the area for the past 17 years.
Memorial services will held 7 p.m. Sunday at the Rockford United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Hubbell Jr. and the Rev. Nan Hubbell officiating.
Memorials made be directed to the church affiliation of the donor.

Lulu Adkins
Lulu "Mae" Adkins, 61, 328 W. Silver St., Bluffton, Ind., a 1958 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, died at 6:10 p.m. Friday in a traffic accident on U.S. 33 in Auglaize County.
She was born Sept. 11, 1940, in Jay County, Ind., to Paul Joseph and Letha Fern (Abbott) Bechtol. The mother survives in Howe, Ind.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Gunnary Sgt. Tim and Mara, Cherry Hill, N.C., and Tech, Sgt. Rodney and Bernadette Adkins, Yokota Air Force Base, Japan; a daughter and her husband, Lisha and Chuck Christman Jr., Hartford City, Ind.; two brothers and their wives, Paul Edward and Nancy Bechtol, Cookeville, Tenn., and Carl and Karen Bechtol, Fort Recovery; one sister and her husband, Linda and Harry Ness, Manakin-Sabot, Va. and a sister, Nancy Steed, Redkey, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.
She was a teacher's aide and secretary at Montpelier Middle School for 12 years and had been employed as a receiving coordinator at Peyton's Northern in Bluffton, Ind., the past 17 years. She formerly attended First United Methodist Church, Montpelier, Ind.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Glancy Funeral Homes - Walker Chapel, Montpelier, Ind. Cremation will follow the service.
