Roland Darras
Roland H. Darras, 74, formerly of Van Wert and St. Marys, died at 7:40 p.m. Oct. 17, 2001 at Arbors Health Care Center, Milford.
He was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Van Garman Maria, West Flanders, Belgium, to Charles and Mary (Garman) Darras. He was formerly married to Marilyn Billieu, who survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Jason and Sondra, Loveland; and two granddaughters. Deceased are several brothers and sisters.
He retired from National Seal Co., Van Wert, after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is noon-2p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Vincent Mescher
Vincent B. Mescher, 81, 43 Elm St., Osgood, died at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 19, 2001 at his home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Yorkshire, to Joseph and Katherine (Walterbusch) Mescher. On May 13, 1947, he married Olivia M. Quinter who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Daniel and Jeanne of Osgood, and a son, Kenneth of Sidney; three daughters and their husbands, Joann and Lawrence Grisez, Newport, and Janet and Kimberly Folkerth, and Mary and Joseph Bruening, all of Yorkshire; four brothers and their wives, Richard and Carolyn of Rossburg, Linus and Margaret of Portland, Ind., Alfred and Janet of Troy, and Joseph and Mary Ann of St. Henry, and a brother, Wilbert of Anna; four sisters and their husbands, Loretta and Leonard Otte, Maria Stein, Norma and Ivo Brackman, Fort Recovery, Rita and Elmer Siefring, New Weston, and Alfrieda and Glen Anderson, San Antonio, Texas; 11 grandchildren, a stepgrandchild and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Norbert and two infant siblings.
He was a retired custodian for Marion Local Schools and Alexander Brothers Elevator, Osgood. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, and its Men's Sodality, a past member of Osgood Fire Department and charter member and past commander of Osgood American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the medical corp.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Joshua Ralston
Joshua D. Ralston, 18, 5469 U.S. 33, Rockford, died at 9:56 a.m. Oct. 19, 2001 from injuries sustained in an accident that morning on U.S. 33 near U.S. 127.
He was born Dec. 9, 1982, in Van Wert, to Scott A. and Jennifer K. (Pond) Ralston who reside in Rockford.
Other survivors are two brothers, Chad, who is in the U.S. Army and stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington State, and Cory of Rockford; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Pond, Celina; paternal grandparents, Donald Ralston, Ohio City, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kuhn, Versailles; and a niece, Jerica of Rockford.
He was a graduate of Vantage Vocational School and a member of Calvary Evangelical Church, both of Van Wert. He worked at Plastipak of Jackson Center.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at W.H. Dick & Sons, Celina.

Robert M. Chapman
Robert M. Chapman, 54, 911 N. Seventh St., Coldwater, died Oct. 19, 2001 at his residence. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Cecil C. and Sarah (Good) Chapman. The mother survives in Coldwater.
Surviving are a son, Robert M. Jr., and a daughter, Elizabeth, both of Richmond, Va.; two sisters and their husbands, Carol and Edgar Kauffman, Plain City, and Sharyn and Frank Terry, Santa Paula, Calif., and a sister, Phillis Kaiser, Coldwater.
Deceased is a brother-in-law, Mike Kaiser.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and a member of the Vietnam Veterans.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. today at Jerome Township Cemetery, Plain City, the Rev. Jon Kraner officiated.
Hogenkamp's Funeral Home, Coldwater, had charge of arrangements.
Joshua Ralston
Services for Joshua D. Ralston, 18, 5469 U.S. 33, Rockford, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Ralston died at 9:56 a.m. Oct. 19, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, of injuries sustained in a two-car accident on U.S. 33 near U.S. 127 earlier in the day.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Forest Nuesmeyer
Forest L. "Red" Nuesmeyer, 79, 13350 Moulton-New Knoxville Road, Wapakoneta, died at 1:40 a.m. Oct. 22, 2001 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 4, 1922, in Auglaize County, to William and Mahala (Stukenbrok) Nuesmeyer. On Sept. 14, 1946, he married Irene Westerbeck who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Steve and Tammy of Wapakoneta, and William and Anna Kay of St. Marys, and a son, Tom of St. Marys; a daughter and her husband, Betty and Greg Bergman, Minster; a sister and her husband, LaRose and Gary Theis, Lafayette; two brothers-in-law, Paul Westerbeck and Ralph Schwaberow, both of New Bremen; a sister-in-law, Leona of Moulton; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are two brothers, Vernon and Robert, and a sister, Mildred Egbert.
He was the retired owner of Clear Creek Farms and a livestock buyer for C.K. Elliott Co., Wapakoneta. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a member of New Knoxville American Legion Post 444 and had served as commander for two terms and as a member of the post's Executive Board. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys, St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, and the Auglaize County Pork Producers Association.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. John Manzo and Elaine Mikesell officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Moulton, with military rites conducted by Post 444.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Mildred Jones
Mildred C. Jones, 88, 1756 Fort Recovery-Minster Road, Fort Recovery, died at midnight Oct. 23, 2001 at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born March 1, 1913, in Coldwater, to Peter and Mary (Huwer) Haubert. On Dec. 28, 1938, she married Glenn Jones who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Ronald and Nancy of Fort Recovery; a sister and her husband, Joan and Ted Dembowski, Coldwater, and two sisters, Hilda Reinhard, Huber Heights, and Catherine Buehler, Dayton; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are three brothers, Othmar, Ralph and Henry Paul, and a granddaughter.
She worked at VonderHaar's in Fort Recovery and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe, and its Altar Rosary Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Alt officiating. Burial is at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.

Johanna Muhlenkamp
Johanna F. Muhlenkamp, 68, 7690 N. 700 E., Bryant, Ind., died at 1:10 a.m. Oct. 23, 2001 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Maysville, Ky., to Ernest and Sally (Cummings) Gardner. On Jan. 31, 1970, she married Dennis L. Muhlenkamp and he died Feb. 17, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Patrick, and a daughter, Frances, both at home; a brother-in-law and his wife, Verus and Rose Muhlenkamp, Bryant, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, William and Ernest.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, Ind.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Robert Reinhart officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 7-9 p.m. Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Jakob Silber
Jakob Silber, 78, Frankenthal, Germany, died at 11:45 p.m. Oct. 19, 2001 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Frankenthal, Germany, to Jakob and Louise Silber.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Jerry and Helen of St. Marys; a sister, Kathe Silber, Germany; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He retired from Albert Press, a printing press manufacturer in Germany.
Private funeral services will be held in Germany. A public memorial service is set at 2 p.m. Saturday at Living Hope Assembly of God Church, St. Marys.

Inez Adams
Inez Eileen Adams, 83, Rockford, died at 1:45 a.m. today [Oct. 25, 2001] at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford.
She was born June 23, 1918, in Ohio City, to Samuel B. and Velma (Caywood) Krugh. On Sept. 14, 1940, she married Doyt Adams and he survives.
Also surviving is a daughter and her husband, Anita K. and Keith Rutledge, Rockford; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Nancy, and a sister, Wanda Shindeldecker.
She was a homemaker and former beautician. She attended New Horizon Community Church, Rockford.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Robert Loar officiating. Burial is at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, and at the church one hour before the service.
Howard Jones
Howard L. Jones, 69, 5341 Shore Drive, Celina, died Oct. 22, 2001 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 25, 1931, in Lightsville, to Raymond and Edna Irene (Matchett) Jones.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Bruce and Diana of St. Marys; four brothers, Raymond, Leesburg, Fla., John and Larry, both of Greenville, and Richard, Ansonia; and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Caron Townsend.
He was a registered financial planner and founder of Security Counselors Financial Services, Celina. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of Celina, and the St. Marys American Legion Post.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. James Byrne officiating.
Calling is 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
