Naomi Leupp
Naomi Leupp, 93, Archbold, died Oct. 21, 2003 at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, where she had been a patient.
She was born Oct. 6, 1910, in Pettisville to Ezra Albert and Cora Ellen Miller Frey. On Feb. 19, 1931, she married Orlen M. Leupp, who preceded her in death in 1973.
Surviving are five daughters, Donna (Gerry) Mast, Elkhart, Ind.; Joan (Bill) Long, Rockford; Janice (Don) Hancock, Berne, Ind.; Judy (Gary) Sears, Archbold; and Karen (Steve) Schnitkey, also of Archbold; three sons, Ron (Vivian) Leupp, Witchita, Kansas; Larry Leupp, Wauseon; and Leslie Leupp, Hundington, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Orpha Frey, Archbold and a brother, Vernon (Marie) Frey, also of Archbold.
Deceased are three brothers, Roy, Wilbur and Glenferd, and a great-grandchild.
She was retired from Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold, where she worked as a dietitian. She was a member of the Central Mennonite Church, Archbold, member of the Golden Age Sewing Circle and the hospital auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Central Mennonite Church, Archbold, the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Pettisville Cemetery, Pettisville.
Friends may call at Short Funeral Home, Archbold, on Thursday, 3-8 p.m.

Mary Ellen Lynam
Mary Ellen Anthony Lynam, 86, 02124 Greenville Road, St. Marys, died at 5:20 a.m. Oct. 21, 2003 at The Gardens of Celina. She formerly lived on Ohio 746, Caledonia.
She was born May 13, 1917 in Marion County to L.G. and Bessie E. Fisher Irey. On May 30, 1942, she married Maurice Ransom Anthony, who died in 1972. She then married Clifford (Don) Lynam on Dec. 2, 1982, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Marsha Campbell, Silver City, N.M.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and the following sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Howard and Pauline McClenathan and Norm and Caroline Campbell, all of Caledonia; Bill and Margaret Trimmel, Noedesha, Kan; Cheryl Fisher, Mount Gilead, and Reuben and Mary Hecht, Yorkshire.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, a brother, Jack Fisher and a granddaughter.
She has worked at JC Penney, Marion County Courthouse, MARCA Industries and had been co-owner of MA's Ceramic Studio, all in the Marion area. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, St. Marys, and the Marion-Salem United Methodist Church, near Caledonia.
She volunteered at Otterbein Retirement Community for 15 years and served as a board member of the Agape ministries to the poor. She had served as member and treasurer of the United Methodist Women, lay speaker for the East Conference and as local chapter president of the Retired Public Employees of Ohio.
Widely-known as the "Angel Lady," she had presented numerous programs about angels to interested groups.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. James VanMeter officiating. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Also, services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Marion-Salem United Methodist church, Caledonia. Burial will follow those services at the Clairdon cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
Contributions may be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church stained glass restoration.
Edwin Riethman
Edwin H. Riethman, 84, 03386 County Road 30, Minster, died at 7:50 a.m. Oct. 21, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
He was born May 4, 1918, in Minster, to Frank and Eleanora Baumer Riethman. On May 14, 1940, he married Dorothy Steinemann who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bob (Marlene) of Dayton and Harry (Diane) of Minster; three daughters, Norma Winner, Yorkshire, Mary (Bob) Stueve, Minster, and Carol (George) Pryhuber, Danville, Calif.; a sister, Rosemary Albers, New Bremen; a brother-in-law, Ralph Gaier, Fort Loramie; a sister-in-law, Mary Riethman, Minster; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son-in-law, Jack Winner; a brother, two sisters and a grandchild.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Augustine Orphan Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Cataract Fire Co., all of Minster. He also was a life member of the Minster Civic Association.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:30 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Nancy Wannemacher
Nancy Lynn Wannemacher, 49, 6656 E. Highway 103, Lufkin, Texas, died Oct. 15, 2003, at her residence. She reportedly drowned after the lawnmower she was using flipped into a pond trapping her beneath the water.
She was born Dec. 10, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas, to Samuel and Virginia Campbell Winegarden. Her mother survives in Pasadena, Texas. She married former Mercer County resident Richard Wannemacher who survives in Lufkin.
Also surviving are a son, Ryan (Serena) of LaPorte, Texas; a brother, Richard Winegarden, Pearland, Texas; four sisters, Kathy Ries, Deer Park, Texas, Carol McGee and Cindy Beel, both of Pasadena, and Linda Cannaliato, Spring, Texas; and two grandchildren.
She retired seven years ago from Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas, where she had worked in information technology support. She also worked on various projects at Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin and as a volunteer at the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston and the Fort Bend County Library System.
A celebration of life will be from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Wannemacher home.
Locally, a celebration of life will be held Saturday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the home of Dan and Carol Harlamert, 901 Chelsea Drive, Coldwater.

Richard Barth
Richard J. "Dick" Barth, 60, 315 Cottonwood Drive, Wapakoneta, died at 8:05 a.m. Oct. 19, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Feb. 10, 1943, in Lima, to William J. and Marcella A. Buschor Barth.
Surviving are his former wife, Ruth Ann Teeters Barth, New Knoxville; a daughter, Christine Marie of Wapakoneta; three sisters, Patricia (Ned) Kuhn, Wapakoneta, Dorothy (Warren) Musser, Lima, and Virginia (Walter) Heitkamp, Payne; and two half sisters, Susan Sayers, Pennsville, N.J., and Judy Williams, Bloomington, Ill.
Deceased are twin brothers, William and Willard.
He retired from Midwest Electric, St. Marys, after 23 years of service. He attended Immaculate Conception High School and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Wapakoneta. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 76, Wapakoneta.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Celina.

Glenn Bennett
Montezuma native Glenn R. Bennett, 91, formerly of 1508 Sandlewood Place, Sidney, died at 4 a.m. Oct. 20, 2003, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
He was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Montezuma, to Vermont and Lura Monroe Bennett. On Dec. 12, 1940, he married Anna Pfister who died Jan. 25, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca (Robert) Belden and Vivian (Paul) Goins, all of Sidney; a brother, Dwight of Mendon; three sisters, Lucile Patteson and Helen Stemm, both of Springfield, and Margery Banks, Yorkshire; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
One sister is deceased.
He retired from Stolle Corp. in Sidney. He was master of Unity Grange, a board member of Pasco United Methodist Church and a member of Shelby County Civil Defense.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney, the Rev. Gary Petry and Keith Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.

Eunice Best
Eunice S. Best, 86, formerly of Englewood, died Oct. 20, 2003, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 25, 1917, in Missouri, to Thomas and Hattie Mae Cooper Anderson. Vincent Best, her husband of more than 40 years, died in 1982.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith (Bob) Petri, Celina; a sister, Irene Knodel, Florida; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Thomas H. Sr.; two brothers and two sisters.
She was a former member of Fort McKinley United Methodist Church and the Harvest Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, both of Englewood. She also was a 1935 graduate of Roosevelt High School.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Baker/Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, Dayton, the Rev. Katharine R. Schaefer officiating. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mae Chapman
Mae Chapman, 82, 601 Echo St., Celina, died at 4:57 p.m. Oct. 19, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born March 16, 1921, to James and Polly Unk Blankenship. In April 1943, she married Donald Chapman who is deceased.
Surviving are three sons, Donald (Linda) and Roger (Paula), all of Celina, and Jack (Carman) Blankenship of Jamboree, Ky.; two brothers, Garland of Port Clinton and Arnold of Bristol, Tenn.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, the Rev. Kevin Neumann officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.

Oliver Hoge
Oliver Henry Hoge, 89, 307 E. Bremen St., New Knoxville, died at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 19, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
He was born Aug. 8, 1914, in New Knoxville, to Herman and Mary Sophia Oelrich Hoge. On June 23, 1940, he married Frieda Sue Hooper who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bruce (Donna) of New Knoxville and Richard (Cynthia) of Whitehall; two daughters, Linda Lennington, Sunnyvale, Calif., and Sara Hochstein, Plymouth, Mich.; two sisters, Esther Dalton, Bremerton, Wash., and Ella Kuck, Sidney; and seven grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Arthur, Gustave and Joel, and five sisters, Laura Lageman, Rebecca Tschantz, Marcella Hoelscher, Bertha Roser and Olga Hardwig.
He owned and operated Hoge Lumber Co. in New Knoxville with family members, retiring in 1989 at the age of 75. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where he taught Sunday School for many years and sang in the choir, and the Idlewild Club near Grand Lake St. Marys. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Mercer Lodge 121, Free & Accepted Masons, Antioch Temple, Valley of Dayton, and the Aug-Mer Shrine Club.
He also was president of the Northwest Ohio Lumberman's Association, a charter member of the American Institute of Kitchen Designers and a former Boy Scout leader.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. David Hunt and Jon Coddington officiating. Burial will be at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Room at church.
